Most people don't seem to understand why Wedge Antilles is my favorite character.
Nikolai Belinski he is my favorite pilot
it sucks that Denise lawson wedge ,doesn't want anything to do with star wars anymore.
If you read the pilot roster on the TV Tropes link, Lawson's Wedge is listed as an ensemble dark horse, a character who managed to gain the same popularity as the core heroes by having a few story arcs that follow his development.

Wedge was decommissioned 2 years ago for drinking while flying 4 times.
If Rogue One ends with somebody saying that anyone who returns from Yavin will be re-branded "Rogue Squadron" in honor of Jyn's team, then all will be right with the universe. :D

Tycho Celchu was not Rogue Leader in Isard's Revenge, Wedge went back to being Rogue Leader in the third book of the Wraith Squadron series, giving command of the Wraiths to Garik "Face" Loran.
It's depressing watching this two years after the fact. Legends never die...
The X-wing series will always be my favorite. I've read them countless times and never get tired of them. Also the X-wing series of graphic novels and "I, Jedi" both written by Stackpole are must reads.
You didn't mention that Tycho Celchu flew an A-Wing into the second Death Star.

Great video. Honestly I am kinda glad we have not gotten much for the Rogues in the new EU. I like that their legacy is pretty much defined by Stackpole and Allston and them alone. Though I am annoyed that Phantom squadron is not Wraith squadron since they are pretty similar. Would have been a nice callback to the late great Aron Allston.

Prune Face I like both but stackpole was a bit better bacta war was my favourite
mike brubaker preferred the story of Stackpole, but loved the humour of Allston. Did you read "I, jedi" by Stackpole? It was a 1st person story of Corran Horn training with Luke. I recommend reading Jedi Search, Dark Apprentice and Champions of the Force as they come into the story quite a bit.

I never thought of Rogue Squadron being renamed for Endor. I always assumed they were still Rogue Squadron which flew as part of Red Group consisting of all X-Wing Squadrons in the fleet.
The Rogue Squadron series are my favorite Star Wars games. It'd be great if they made a fourth one.
I just wish Disney would give the go ahead to released the finished trilogy compilation for Wii. I hear it even includes a bonus lightsaber battle mode that uses Wii MotionPlus!
Unfortunately, there were some legal issues that greatly delayed its release, and by the time those were cleared up, the Wii had already been replaced by the Wii U. However, with people finding audiences for brand new SNES games these days and the Wii's status as one of Nintendo's most successful systems, I think they'd still get decent sales if they went ahead and released it even today. I'd certainly buy it.
However, any hope of a 4th game was destroyed when the developer Factor 5 went under (part of those legal issues I mentioned).

You should make a series of Star Wars games reviews ( Old and new). It would be cool seeing a review from the perspective of a Star Wars fan rather than a typical gamer.

As for your "heavy biased" remark, it's only one dude who reviews anything on this channel so why come here if this is the case? Wouldn't that carry over to his comics, books and show reviews? DarkSpyro707 No it doesn't. That's you painting all Star Wars fans with one broad stroke. I'm sure you can't see outside your bubble unless you have shiny graphics and "pew pew" competitiveness but in case you weren't aware, there are those who enjoy a story that goes along with a game. KOTOR for example. Your ignorance would label that game as shitty being it hasn't met your visual standards but most of us who have actually played the game would agree that it is in fact (and still is) one of the best Star Wars games. Where as a Star Wars fan I find Star Wars Battlefield as a hollow shooter. Again, your argument is stupid.

Always love your history videos! And like you, I do hope that Rogue Squadron, in a capacity, becomes Canon again. I would like it if in the end of Aftermath: Empire's End(which comes out in Feb. of 2017), if the Phantom Squadron ultimately becomes Rogue Squadron.

I would love a show that follows the Rogues after RotJ, akin to the awesome X-Wing series. It could give us our fix of fantastic and hilarious pilots, a focus on the Alliance/New Republic military, and fill in some blanks between trilogies!

Star Wars Explained, what stories are there about the Imperial 181st? To my knowledge they were the empire's equivalent to rogue squadron. I would love a video discussing this especially since in Rebels we saw Interceptors with the red markings. Thanks!
Any excuse to see Baron Soontir Fel gets my vote. Soontir, Wedge, Han and their children: all Corellians and the best non-Jedi pilots in the galaxy.

I'm STILL disappointed that Denis Lawson refused to come back as Wedge in Force Awakens... I really hope he's not "killed off" in some way and that he's still working behind the scenes.
We need more Rogue Squadron games based on the books.

Are the books out of print? If not, then they are still available so Star Wars fans can still read about Rogue Squadron. Anything that wasn't already out of print is still around to be enjoyed and easy to find
According to Michael Stackpole they went out of print in 2010, However there is enough copies floating around that you should be able to find them.

Great video. Small nit-pick though - Tycho led Rogue Squadron through Zsinj campaign but Wedge returned to command during the Thrawn campaign and against Isard's clone. Tycho returned to command during the resurrected Emperor campaign.
Wedge returned to the Rogues in Solo Command, the 3rd book of the Wraith Squadron series.

Is there an explanation on why there are so many women rebel pilots and imperial pilots and officers in legends, but not in canon
My theory is people criticized the movies for lack of women so they added them in the legends

Wasn't Wedge one of the most decorated pilots in the fleet? So why was that pipsqueak Luke made Rogue leader?
joseph burtulato because Luke was just as worthy. He was great friends with wedge. And when Luke sought more Jedi training on Degobah, wedge was promoted.
Luke and Wedge founded the squadron together

I liked Rogue Squadron books, but they weren't my favorite. Some of the characters were a bit shrill and unlikable, and others were great. I guess I didn't really like the main character, whose name escapes me at the moment. I confess I didn't read the Wraith Squadron books.
The Wraith Squadron books are among the best in the EU. Hit up Half Price Books and give them a try.

To this day my favorite Star Wars books where the ones that I read as a kid. The Boba Fett books. Staged directly after the battle of geonosis are my favs. They aren't the best written books in the world but dang, as a kid I devoured them.

Its funny that Rogue One had nothing to do with Rogue Squadron, almost as if they picked a recognizable term from Legends to attract more Legends Fans.
