It brought me here and made it my second time watching this video (during the first time, I was trying to learn a topic in Computer graphics, and my interest wasn't machine learning then.. Lool). I appreciate this lecture more now!!
I have a question about knots. If there are cubic splines with 5 data points, we'll have 2 curves (5-3=2). Then shouldn't the number of knots be 3-two at both ends and one that joins two curves?
Thank you! I'm working on level curve in QGis and I'm using Multilevel b-spline interpolation. What's the difference with B-spline curve? And How does b-spline curve work with level curve (find z=constant)) thank you :)
When making surfaces, the corners never move. But, in your chart at 16:05 The corners of the control points are different that the resulting bezier surface. Did I miss something, or is that just a loose demonstration?
At 6:39, the last bullet says Bezier surface of degree (m,n) were n is the degree of curve on x direction and m is the degree of the curve on the y direction. This seems backwards to me. Why is it correct?
38:35 why can you just set t2 equal to 0? because only then can i get the same matrix form as you do... can you explain why one can do that? is t then element of (0,1)?
Thanks for the lesson... unfortunately, at work I have to develop a spreadsheet for two sequential, 6th-Order b-splines & the associated 1st - 4th derivatives of those 2 sequential b-splines.
28:53 What? The spacing between knots does not remain the same, only the parameterization is normalized... We make tons of uniform curves in automotive that have radically different spacing. Gah.. so confusing...
Took me 3 days to fully understand your lecture, it's a masterpiece lecture I have to say. Although I have to point out that equations shown at 34:15 are not correct. They do not correspond with the graphs shown at 35:35.
@@walterharoldbishop as in, on the curve N(0,2) at t = 1, I am reading off the y value as 1/2. Are you saying it is 1? The y axis doesnt even have 1 drawn on it tho?
like this if KANs brought you here

Great lesson, thanks Jon
A masterpiece again! Thank you very much.
Thank you so much, just what i needed!
At 34:32 there is an error.

we can i find a deriviation of the basis function of the b-spline ?
Very nice presentation ! Thank You.
Great video. Thank you
where can we get your notes please? and REALLY, THANK YOU FOR THE VERY CLEAR LECTURE! LOVED YOUR ACCENT TOO!!! lol
I want the notes too
This is an amazing lesson
Wonderful! Bspline is clear explain in this lecture!
Awesome lecture.
Where can i find a deriviation for the basis functions of the b-spline ??
Really good lecture, thanks :)

Really nice lecture :D
THANKKK YOUUUUUUUUU. Quiet Constructive.
There is something that wasn't clear during the video:
why is the bezier curve only defined between t2 & t3 ?
Very helpful. Thank you Sir!

This course is awesome! Thanks a lot! Anyone knows where to download the PPT?
Very useful :) thanks!
great lecture, thank you.
In the code for Bezier Surface, your u vector is a column vector (it should be a row vector)
At 6:39, the last bullet says Bezier surface of degree (m,n) were n is the degree of curve on x direction and m is the degree of the curve on the y direction. This seems backwards to me. Why is it correct?
I thinks the slide was wrong. The next slide says a degree (m, n) surface's x-y coordinates shape is (m+1)x(n+1).
Thank you very much! The teaching quality is excellent!

is that why they are uniform and you could just have chosen a T such that t2=0? So you just "shift" it to a convenient value?
excellent one, thx a lot, helped me well understand B spline which fucked me for several days
Whats the name of this kind of subjects?
15:08 nice looking thingy
