- In today's episode we bring you a brief road trip experience between Kalimpong and Darjeeling. Before heading to Darjeeling we had a simple yet hearty breakfast at our homestay, the Duke's Home along with the genial and warm owner Duke Kala Chettri. Over this soulful meal, she enlightened us about Dasai which is a major Nepalese festival. The changing weather in due course of the breakfast felt so fascinating. With a joyful heart we bid her goodbye and left for Darjeeling.
The first pit stop en route to Darjeeling was the Lovers viewpoint. This picturesque stretch was lined with quite a few snacks stalls selling instant noodles, coffee, tea, fruits etc. We relished some juicy pineapples from one of them while enjoying the stunning view of the confluence of Rangit and Teesta rivers.
The next pit stop was the town of Lopchu whose peda is quite renowned. At one of the popular shops we tried three variants of this local sweet. Unlike it's North Indian counterpart, these peda tasted more like milk chocolate.
Finally we reached the quaint and beautiful town of Darjeeling. The sight of the toy train running parallel to the main road created ripples of joy in our heart. The final destination for the day was Reyso Urban Homestay run by the multifaceted individual named Ujjawal Chettri.

माताजी हिंदी भी बहुत अच्छे से बोलती हैं लेकिन नाम के आगे Duke लगा है तो सबकुछ अंग्रेजी में ही कहेंगी !!
Bhai India mein hindi ke alawa bhi regional language hoti hai , unko hindi utna achhe se nhi aata hoga ,to wo jismein comfortable hain usmein bolein.
Aapko nhi pasand aap skip kar sakte ho.
So if you go to Chennai and Tamil Nadu should they speak Hindi ? There are almost 25 national language in India and Nepali is one of them. Her mother language is Nepali but she is trying her best to have conversation in English so that everyone understood less or more.
She probably isn’t comfortable or used to speaking Hindi. Tum Northie log har jagah kyun pareshan karte ho Hindi bolne ke liye.
Love all your vlogs...kalimpong is better than darjeeling as its less crowded now but cutting of goat should be stopped all over the India...wastage of eco system and killing of animals be it any religion is an actual sin in the name of God.

Such a lovely morning n breakfast under cloud cover... saag s generally taste better wth a little garlic-ky flavour (specially in cool climate)... the host wonderfully shared all about the festival, nd it feels good to learn from people who knw their culture well..
Breathtaking view, from lover s met, where the 'duo' can sit on that high perched 'machhan'... jus to relish the freshly sliced sweet organic pineapple... also the peda adorned wth rose petal appeared palatable...
