I got a question i ran my 1073 preamp in line 1 i wanted to add my avalon 737 as an insert but the avalon is mono so i went op from avalon to ip 3 in apollo x8 and op apollo to input avalon but when i playback the track with avalon as insert i could hear double not sure what to do.
I think you can actually bypass the preamp on twins by choosing the line input. Great vid anyway... 🙏

Hi. Can i ask question? I have Apollo twin usb, Evo Sp8 mic preamp and Klark teknik Eqp-kt. I couldn't connect them completely. My audio interface and mic preamp has optical in, out. Apollo twin has only in. I connected them by optical cable. After my inputs, outputs extended. I connected them to each other like first i connected my mic cable on Evo Sp8 mic input, and then from Eq output to Apollo mic input, after from Eq input to mic preamp line out. I am currently connected like that. I did these connections. Is it right or wrong connections? I tried to make route in my Daw and Uad console. I use Ableton live and Presonus. I used Unison preamp when i recording vocals before i connect with Mic preamp. After that i can't use unison preamps only use inserts why i can't use Unison preamps with preamp?😢 Please help me. Thank you.

Could I connect a digital piano to the x8’s line inputs at the back using two TRS cables for stereo as opposed to just a single TRS cable mono?

Yea cause technically output 1&2 are his monitors, so you have to slide everything over two that way when you go to use the inserts it’s routed to go to the comp not doubling in your monitors

There is a shortcut to bypass and make inactive. I’m not at my keyboard but I think it’s command click to bypass and maybe option command click for inactive. But could be wrong I need to be at a keyboard to remember
I want to hook up outboard gear. I want to hook up a Pre Amp and a compressor to my Apollo x6 Rackmount. Am i able to hook both those up to my Apollo x6 or would I need an Apollo x8 to be able to do that? I appreciate any feedback 💯
Running line outs to a patch bay but no signal
I would think even with no DAW in use you could route line level audio out
Both primary and ALT speakers work fine using but the remaining line outs have no signal
Is there any degradation with the stereo bus mix going through the A/D converters again?

Why won’t this work for the Apollo twin?
So I want to start adding outboard gear to my studio, im running an Appolo twin and have been using UAD n waves plugins mostly . My question is, so if I want to use the outboard gear , pre, eq, comp for tracking , and mixing . How would I do that? Say I have multiple tracks like chorus and adlibs and want to change the EQ on the outboard gear on that track ? If I change the setting on the outboard gear it would change it on the other track ? How does the daw save those specific settings on an outboard gear for individual tracks? I can’t wrap my head around this.??
With outboard gear the DAW doesn’t save any settings. You manually set it for each track then print it down. If you need to reuse the settings then you take a picture or write it down so you can recall the settings later.

Man if you thought the daw saves Outboard settings then you need to start over with learning everything bro
@@BR_READDY225 yeah instead of saving settings you have to bounce the track with those out gear settings then u can change setttinfs for another vocal or instrument strip / channel. Now I know lol

I am about to invest x8 interface, however if i have bunch of outboard more than 12 units, would the x8 handle all the connection or and x16 , if not can a patch be used! im only buying apollo because i of spdif to connect adc converter, as i use bigsix at the moment, hoping it would be easy set up and workflow! Thanks!!
I guess it depends on if you are chaining anything or everything has it's own ins and outs. With that much gear a patch bay can definitely help.

depending on your setup either trs or trs to xlr. Some gear uses xlr to trs and some just trs.

Your running the old system for pro tools my x6 won’t work with Mac OS got the old version of pro tools 🤦🏾♂️
