Ben Winston definitely knows what he's talking about. Keep the monologue improvised and audience-free, and devote the rest of the show to the viral bits that showcase Corden's talents and interview style (Carpool Karaoke, Crosswalk The Musical, etc.). That's the best version of this show.
Honestly ,I never watched James consistently prior to pandemic .now, I can't wait for Monday to come . The best late night show ever . James is hilarious, witty, smart and I love your car karaoke. Keep up the good work. 👍😍
While I appreciate the need for an audience, but the way The Late Late Show with James Corden is produced is magical. The laughter from those most intimately involved in the show is beautiful. The true beauty of the relationships is so present, and the banter makes my soul happy. Please keep the opening the same going forward - I need to see Pete often!
So so so glad the opening format will STAY! YES! We love the friends hanging out! And, I enjoyed this interview. It cane on by accident when I was watching UA-cam and put my phone down. Thanks!
Great interview with RuPaul! Agreed that this new Late Late Show format is golden and addictive - it's too easy to become invested in the running storylines from video-to-video. Prior to the pandemic, the only Late Late clips I watched were with guests on the show. Now, I go straight to their mono or catchups.
I have always enjoyed James Cordon, his comedy , his comedic abilities, (but never watched it every night before). Great personality! Please don’t ever change! I know I speak for millions of Canadians who watch your show every night. & LOVE this format. Also, great crew- Reggie, fantastic voice. Even Nick! What a great sense of humour! Keep it up!!! 🇨🇦🇨🇦👏👏👏👏🤗💕💐
omg it's the corden crew LOVE THEM so much and look it's Ben who we never ever get to see!! he's only ever the voice-from-beyond. so glad to hear that the show is leaning towards keeping the same conversation style format for the first segment of the show. we have all grown to love the writers and crew and the band. xo love from Mississippi xo
Amazing interview! I agree with others. I 100% L-O-V-E the new format that came about during the pandemic. It was great with the audience, but it’s even better with just the staff hanging out on set. Don’t change it back!
This is the greatest format ever.......I’m on the Canadian west coast....watching this in bed nightly has what’s kept my life sane....please don’t change anyone in your ensemble...You can feel the love..💕💕💕 if you don’t need an audience, why bother? P.S. love Nick and his podcast😘
I now have a face to put with the "voice from above somewhere" (Ben)...nice! This is a lovely interview! It was good to hear that the opening of the show will remain for now...it's the vey best thing on late-night (or any time) ever! You could even expand it a bit post-Covid, with each of the staff having their own "bar stool/chair", going with the pub idea...just a thought. This show has sustained me through the past year and a half...thank you so much for being willing to do something new and different! The interplay between James and the staff is what keeps me (and so many others) coming back each night to pull up our own "bar stool" and join in the fun! Love you all!! 🧡
First of all, RuPaul, this was a fantastic interview, well thought out and very natural. I’ll be looking for more now. Secondly, this pandemic act 2 if you will of the Late late show has been fantastic and so welcoming. It’s such a fresh take on a old format I love it. The crew have become family to us viewers and we look forward to each episode. Please don’t change it
I completely agree, I made a comment abouy the audience not returning because I really enjoy this format and someone linked this video. It was a really good interview.
I didn't know I needed 40 minutes of these guys talking about their show, but now I know I did. I love the fact that it's all about having a great time, and we never get the sense that you're trying to mess (in a mean way) with your guests or try to trick them into making mistakes, there's enough of that mean spirited-ness out there, this is a welcomed reprieve. Amazing work, I found the show during the pandemic and it has brought me so much joy during a difficult time ❤️
I found this interview from another person whom recommend the video because of their conversation around the 32:00 mark about the decision to return back to normal with fans or maintaining the current situation that really truely emphasis that whole "get together at the bar" type of show that does indeed lowers the guests guard to where these superstars just appear to be regular people. Which may or may not help with repairing someones image. Like you, I couldn't believe that I just listened to 42min of a group of people talking about their show.
The best part is getting confirmation that the monologue bits ARE indeed improvised and off the cuff. The whole Oprah thing was so perfect, it almost seems staged, and all the best bits seem to be organic and in the moment.
The Late Late Show is and has been my absolute Happy Place for years. When ever I need distraction or just a laugh I put on a clip (or 10) and feel better in an instant. Also James has the best Job on this planet and yet he remains this humble guy who seems to still wonder how he got so lucky.
This new relaxed format they have is brilliant. So many followers of the show have asked for them to keep this format. And it seems the guests are more relaxed too. It can get "crying funny" at times.
Fully agree. I love late night without the audiences. James and Seth's shows became much funnier. I hardly ever watched them before the pandemic. Now that Colbert has gone back to "normal," I don't mind missing his show. The audience is so loud and annoying. The format with the host doing a monologue, then sitting at a desk and "interviewing" guests (most of them look alike celebs hawking their latest forgettable film,) then a band playing some musical number are predictably BORING. That format has been around since the 1950s. Things need to be shaken up and freshened up.
I know that having an audience has twice the electricity and energy to keep the momentum going as a late night show. But what James and the LLTT (a.k.a Late Late Trust TREE) crew is a phenomenon that we've NEVER saw coming, more electric and energetic as ever . A formula that it looks boring, but the banters and the level of trust to one Another, joke each other and have funny interactions with each other is a genius idea. I already said it before that it's good with an audience. But with the late late show, it's much better with no audience and watching like a reunion special with a lovely conversation. Thank you for listening to my TED FYC talk.
Love the show since the pandemic (and Harry, Niall, Louis and Liam ofcourse). I’ve been watching on UA-cam and really hope they find a way to make the monologue with an audience. It would be really fun to see the guests be a part of that as well. Can you imagine James telling a joke about the news and Harry styles pitching in with a joke? Or any other guest ofcourse. Best show ever would that be.
Ben yaaaaaaaas!!!!!!! He answered that so awesomely yes yes yes yes!!!!! You guys really have done something soooooooooo amazing during pandemic to have that 15 minutes monologue window it's been EPIC
That was awesome how rue let James tell his story about him and the producer. I commented on james show when he interviewed liam that he interrupts his guest so he can get to next question. Rue was kind and a gentleman. That's how you let a guest have thier moment. Props to you.✌️
"ONE DAY MORE" was so freaking good I loved it so much !!!~ and to Ru Paul : you did such an outstanding job interviewing the 3 guys. Your questions were so well thought out and researched and I thank you so much for just allowing the guests to talk as long as they wanted to, until they'd finished their thoughts thoroughly, easily and could feel relaxed as they did. Too often, too many on t.v. rush their guests answers out of then, or interrupt all the time, stopping their train of thought. Thank you for doing such a wonderful job of interviewing them.
Intimacy is the key. Compared to this loosely guided banter between 10-15 friends (reminder: all of them very competent in their fields and experienced in show business), everything else feels wooden, even if the jokes are fantastic. This intimacy built its own jokes. Nobody can compete with that. It's almost like sex - even the most competent lover can't beat the intimacy. And here they have both. Also, it's interesting to see a bit of genre deconstruction, see the people making the show, some of them literally while they're making the show. Running gags with Pete and Nick Bernstein are hilarious, and basically all they ever do is their job and not much else. It's funny af
Oh wow!! I forgot Robs's face because of the mask😄😄 And Ben who never shows his face. 😃 We all say it everyday...organic fun is why we all continue to come back
Brilliant interview. Love watching James for years. Ye should get Jamie Freddie and Jack over for a show sometime brilliant chemistry Keep us laughing guys. 😂❤️😂😂
Ru is a NATURAL at interviewing! And I literally stayed up until 430am watching this because someone told me the answer to whether they were bringing the audience back or not was in here. I'm going to sleep SO well knowing they're trying to keep the intro the perfection that it is. Seriously, I can't stand the other shows now I started watching over the pandemic now that they brought their audience back.
They left out the best part of the Oprah call, which was when James got her automated voicemail that started to list off her actual number over the studio’s audio and, freaking out, fumbled w the phone to take it off speaker 😂
Jayaooh - Has date of 15/6. My Theory ?? - I don't see that RuPaul has a chat show like this, James was going to be away this week - so guessing pre-record as a filler in - done a great job. Regards.
I know that CBS has this special they do... But I'm guessing RuPaul was a special guest host of it.... I just can't get over Ben Winston That man is just instant pheromone 😁😂😂😂
Btw, when was this filmed? Where is Rob’s cool floofy hair? The video says this was posted a week ago, yet I don’t even see a sign of a ponytail when his head turns slightly. Camera tricks or are those curly locks really a wig on stage . . . ?! 🤭🤔🤷🏼♀️

Yes, oh but my favorite is really Pete.

Ben's comment about people checking in to see how all the crew are going now is pretty accurate 😁

James is such a multi talented guy.
Love you James.

This isn’t a knock on Rob or Ben, but i kinda liked the mystery of not seeing their entire face or just hearing Ben ‘s voice over the speaker lol
The best part is getting confirmation that the monologue bits ARE indeed improvised and off the cuff. The whole Oprah thing was so perfect, it almost seems staged, and all the best bits seem to be organic and in the moment.
Do you know if it is like a show they have regularly with rupaul or was this like a special
@@macylauren3387 It's an awards consideration special that they do once a year that happens to feature RuPaul as host this year.
I can’t get through a morning without watching clips of the late late show!! I wish I could watch it in full in the UK 🇬🇧 love you James and team 🇺🇸
It’s on Sky One and Catch Up
What a great testimony to Ben from James💕💕💕💕
I love the team and James, really, is such a natural entertainer and leader.
When he smiles, he reminds me of an impish little kid.
@@debstrzelecki2485 Very true!
I love the Late Late show! Looking forward to more singing and skits too!
I love everything about the Late Late Show. Anything James Corden does is incredible. Just love watching the show.

The New format is SO AMAZING! Petes a Super Star now. Fins up! i do love how he started giving his crew member the spotlight.
I don't know why but I kept smiling all through the interview 😂😅😅.I loved it
Love how authentic James is 🥰...he’s living the dream for sure! And sharing it with us

A wonderful "insite" into this show......
Luv it even more..🤩
I totally loved this... THANK YOU. And to see Rob's face. Yay
I looooooove and enjoy how the Late Late show made me feel. It makes me the happiest so thank you crews❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Only now, being a foreigner, understood what was the point of "can you help me get to work?"😃 You have carpool lanes! Amaizing

I love that just behind James is his rolling drinks cart.
Late Late Show enthusiasts on UA-cam, this is what you’re after: 31:20 … 😉 if you know, you know
Oh wow!! I forgot Robs's face because of the mask😄😄
And Ben who never shows his face. 😃

God I love your show, Mr. James and the Tribe!
Great interview. I get so much joy from the the Late Late Show.
Amazing interview and insights and into the show. You guys are hitting it out of the park 🇬🇧 🇺🇸
Brilliant interview. Love watching James for years. Ye should get Jamie Freddie and Jack over for a show sometime brilliant chemistry Keep us laughing guys. 😂❤️😂😂

I really enjoy to watch this so honestly speech from all of them you can see everyone loves what they doing and what they have is a dream job :)
The emotion in James is real in this interview. What a fkn legendary trio we're fortunate enough to witness.
Pete, Steve, Guillermo, Rob, Nick, Hagar, Reggie, Susanne, Winnie, and more
Yeah don’t go back keep it the way it is!!!
RuPaul did an awesome job! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
That one day more parody song always gives me goose bumps where the song doesn’t. Everytime!!!
They left out the best part of the Oprah call, which was when James got her automated voicemail that started to list off her actual number over the studio’s audio and, freaking out, fumbled w the phone to take it off speaker 😂
Good one. Ru is great.
Good to finally see Ben as a real person! M
I love you team cooperation
Rob looks so different from the front. But I immediately recognized his voice.
Didn't know it existed
Bring back zoo please!!
Why Nick wasn't here!!!!!??
Does anybody know when this was actually filmed?

Don’t want the audience-- keep it the way it is- easy talking-- even the news…..and of course Nick
Ben is handsome as fuck.

That's Nick Bernstein
That's his real hair.
You’re thinking of Nick. This is Rob, who sits to the side and always has a black mask on.
I don't know if it's OK to say this anymore, but James looks like he is losing weight. I wish him the best health and a long life.
He is following the WW program and doing well on it
God can use anyone to glorify his name
Please go back to the old format
P l e a s e don’t.
OMG no!
