Wow. Nice to hear her speak after seeing only pictures of her for decades. Full disclosure, I've never sought out and watched any interview she may have gave over the years, so that's on me. But this interview with Stephen Colbert definitely raises awareness about her and the causes she advocates for to a very wide audience of people who may have not heard her discuss them before. And wow, is she articulate and passionate. This is great news for the future of America and the rights of women in this country which is presently facing grave threats.
She's phenomenal and will do great things.

Melinda Gates has a degree in computer science and an MBA. She was a GM marketing manager at Microsoft. Haters, who often look for weaker/uneducated/easy to control women, think all women do is marry for money. If you want to hate on someone, why not say, “She very successful until she was preyed upon by her boss.” In reality though, she helped build Microsoft and deserves her share of the profits to do as she wishes.

The Gates family *has* been 'giving it back'. I bought plenty of MS' softwares, but one does not see me wanting money back because I helped make her and her husband's' company rich. I got what I paid for. I would much rather see her examine my ideas to see if she thinks that my proposed contributions to the betterment of the planet are worthy of putting a shovel to the ground in places around the world.

Can you imagine if McKenzie Scott also poured a billion dollars into local State elections to get women (who are not part of the crazy MAGA cult) to run and win thousands of State wide offices around the country? Holy smokes what an impact that would truly make for this country's future, including reversing all the nasty voting and women's healthcare restrictions that have been put in place at the State level over the past 10+ years.

The interview doesn't do her justice. Probably about a decade ago, I listened to one of her extended interviews. She's extremely sharp.
I guarentee you have no idea where her money goes and can even find an example of her impact on the people in the US. There rich people dont really do anything with there millions. SHe wants to help womans rights and they are the worst now!

Their marriage was private. How much is stability worth? How much is a uterus worth? How much is passing on what she did to their children worth? Priceless! I am just relieved and happy and hopeful. C. Koch turned malicious eyes on state legislatures with ALEC years ago and appropriated the political voices of states and their local communities. The MFG effort will help folks at the local level have a say in running their states and communities again!

As a Rotarian, I greatly appreciate that both Melinda and Bill joined Rotary in its mission to eradicate polio worldwide. Thanks to them and many many others, including Rotarians, we are so very close to that goal.

I'm not a big Melinda Gates fan, but I'm 100% behind having more women in government. It should be a 50/50 split. We need more women making decisions for the future. The men we've had so far, have f'd it up pretty bad.
I know it is a long shot, but I coach a Middle School Speech & Debate team in Fresno, CA (currently the only one in my school district versus other local districts) that has always been predominantly girls. If Melinda French Gates might be interested in empowering the team, the next generation of leaders, and inspiring the future; Speech & Debate also prepares students for college, career, and the future; as well as encouraging literacy skills, civility, advocacy, creativity, persuasion, collaboration, adaptability, and emotional intelligence.
Wow never heard her speak. I had no idea how amazing she is. Thanks for everything you do!

Gutless politicians and corporate owned media will never even admit that redistribution is a problem. The whole discussion is on increasing production and/or reducing taxation and regulation. Corporate dominated education is also part of the problem.

Because the billionaire class is destroying the planet. They have enormous influence and are accountable to no-one. Her ex husband became wealthy by being a shady and corrupt business man, and that's where her money, and influence, comes from. Nobody voted for her, nobody can fire her. But she is in a very powerful position to influence the politics of the most powerful nation on earth. Maybe she is a super nice and great person. But she should not be in the position of power that she finds herself in, and that goes for all billionaires by the way, Musk being another great example. Sorry for the long rant :)
