haha thanks!! lol. I try ,I know I don't have the best production but I just can't justify the time. I'd rather be drawing but I like doing youtube of course.
@@Barry-ti5rc haha. Most of the books I do are worth getting. I'd have a very hard time faking my way through a book or artist I am not into. So I generally just show the best stuff! so it's kinda pre-approved by me! haha
The Feng Zhu he talks about has a youtube channel called "FZDSCHOOL". I especially like his earlier videos, I'd say the first 80 but the rest is good too.
Second this. Feng Zhu is an OG of the concept art game and runs a pretty interesting, if somewhat idiosyncratic, art school in Singapore. His channel really is one of the best for people with some fundamentals under their belt looking to learn more about design. Top notch.
Search nicker paint on youtube, you'll find japanese videos of artists that worked or work in the animation industry and do background demos. Kazuo Oga is another artist that you have to check, he has a bluray where he does a couple of paintings and those videos are on youtube.
Another great video! Architecture and backgrounds blow my mind but per your comments sounds like I just need to put in some time learning principles of perspective. Love seeing the BK content on insta
I don't really do tutorials anymore. I am more of a book hunter for art info most times...but I tell people...check out ALL the stuff and just use what seems to click for you or the art looks cool that you are trying to learn from/. Way back I thought Gnomon was doing great stuff and then also you can check out gumroad...a lot of artists on instagram have patreons so that's always an option. I follow Loish on Patreon.
Show me a helicopter without showing me a helicopter. Hi I recently saw a comic cover with a unique art problem. Detective 512 has batman fighting guys in a helicopter. The issue is that the helicopter is barely bigger than Batman is but has 2 people in it. How do you show large vehicles in proper scale so the are identificable without making the figures tiny ? Is there a way without doing an Art Adams Secret Avengers Vol 1 #32 trick ? Thanks for the videos !
@@RichardFriendartist i got some wrist issue 1.5+ years ago. Even having stable exercises for hands every day. I just wake up one moring with terrible pain in the wrist, every move was so baaaad, even w/o moving there was pulsating pain... it took 3 days for me to be able to sleep kinda normal. MD said there were no issues found, but looks like a result of an injury (there were no injures for me, i were just drawing big piece a day before). But it didnt go off since then, I just reduced stilus and mouse time, trying get something soft under my elbow and wrist. So stay alarm with you hand, keep you safe.
