Eh if you heard of the word woke, then this is a example. The times change and so do the people and the ways of people. It should progess for the better. As it has. But the woke of people who want to go backwards is becoming more apparent daily. The British took poor people from Europe to settle and develop North America yet Today trust doesn't come from your word, It comes from transparency. So the people of this country need to drop the woke and become part of our future. Lets start all working in the same direction and just put the past in the past. Why can I not find out where every dime that was given to Natives who received any from the Government over settlement issues. All the ones that cannot provide proof of distribution of those funds should be charged with embbezelment and held accountable. Being as the troubles of yesterday are getting paid off by the people of today . the funds provided from the past need to be transparent as well. Or is what is good for the goose not good for the gander as the Elders corrected us on. Each Chief needs to be proving that what he got went to the people the money was for. Otherwise him and his children and grandchild and greatgrandchildren and greatgreatgrandchildren should have their assets confinscated and used to compensate the country . Just like all the white, black yellow and East red tax payers had to and still have to do. Lets all treat each other and act equally.

I do not think using that useless term work is very helpful to any conversation. You make a point that corrupt chiefs must be accountable, but that is not anywhere near the scale and scope of widespread cruelty of what was done in this country to indigenous people. Why mix the two and create what they call false equivalence? That is not equality, just right wing rhetoric. Who are you to decide what past is important to look into and what past is important to ignore?

@@marshhen Eh Marshhen Who am I? , I am Canadian. And this has to end with blood money for all or none. Black slavery, or seperation of families, government approved products that causes cancer .When is my country going to invest in the country itself with every reason for any past troubles that people hold their hands out for?. The past will never be as important as the future. Maybe you don't have children but us that do would like to create a better place. Not a weak and fragile one. Take a look around . The people of the planet are here. Quit crying over spilt milk and join us to become the wealthiest country. We need your help too. The sooner the better. I was raised by a Native stepfather from 7 yrs and he always said the tax exempt card was for people who live on reserve. try to get that straight instead of the robbery that is currently happening if you want to be helpful. I never hear any Native saying sh-t about that. Do our country a favour and become the creator of the future like we all should be. Leave the past in the past. Good health to you and yours.
