  • Since 2016, Camosun College’s School of Trades and Technology, SkilledTradesBC and the Nuxalk First Nation have been working together to develop and deliver an innovative on-site four-year carpentry training program to Indigenous learners in Bella Coola.

    The messages are powerful , change will happen if everyone does their part and support a program like this in their community . It is opportunity to create jobs, create some economic stimulations and promote further careers in trades. Once the trades programs are fully supported we as First people can construct homes that suit the social , economic and cultural lifestyles. This program also manifested into the creation of using the natural resources, own gravel , own timber and best of all our own community. Thank you Camosun College , Industry trades Canada and Elected Chief and council. It began with your vision.
