That narrative came out because of the headlines that she was contesting the divorce and many of the blogs ran with that and said she was fighting for her marriage. When someone contests a divorce, it doesn’t necessarily mean they don’t want it. It also means that they don’t agree with terms within the filing. Which we found out later that it had something to do with upholding or not upholding the prenup. Furthermore… abused women have been staying with their abusive husbands longer than any of us have been alive so this is nothing new.

The thing is, there was never any proof that she was “fighting” for the marriage. That narrative came out because of the headlines that she was contesting the divorce and many of the blogs ran with that and said she was fighting for her marriage. When someone contests a divorce, it doesn’t necessarily mean they don’t want it. It also means that they don’t agree with terms within the filing. Which we found out later that it had something to do with upholding or not upholding the prenup. Furthermore… abused women have been staying with their abusive husbands longer than any of us have been alive so this is nothing new.

I don’t understand how people can look at this video, hear the details and the ONLY thing they are worried about is why she wasn’t the one to file for divorce. As long as you have been living, how many times have you heard of people staying in abusive relationships? Many abused women have been staying with their abusive husbands longer than any of us have been alive so that is nothing new. It is extremely ignorant. I had a whole bike thrown at me and was choked out! I took my ex back a few days later. I even apologized for going through his phone!( I was 20 and a whole fool). It is completely plausible that she stayed because she wanted it to work. Also, she knew ppl were gonna be like they are now... preference this, preference that. Too much victim blaming! Smdh
