- Jeezy breaks his silence on his divorce from Jeannie Mai in a new statement to ET. The rapper, who filed for divorce from the TV host on Sep. 14, explains that his decision 'was not made impulsively.' Jeezy and Jeannie share a daughter, 1-year-old Monaco.

I don’t understand why Jeezy was so surprised about the difference in cultural values in how to raise a child she’s Asian he’s African-American you’re obviously going to have different opinions, but there’s nothing I feel you can’t work through especially when you get married. I like to think of a relationship as phases. The dating phase while it feels nice is actually for the purpose of truly examining the other person-even while enjoying the time together. I mean if we're going to make a complex recipe (especially when the previously attempted ones didn't turn out right) wouldn't we first try to learn from what we did wrong? Our discernment, healing, growing, standards...are what contributes to the recipe/process. It helps us to not get side-tracked by feel good feelings since we'd know that it's NOT sustainable.
Bottom line, the end of a dating phase doesn't necessarily have to lead to marriage.

My boyfriend of four years went to work one morning a couple months ago and just never came home. He was even intimate with me the morning that he left to go to work. We discussed what I was cooking for dinner. And when he didn’t show up at night I kept calling and texting and he kept pretending that he was still at work and then gaslighted me. When I found out he wasn’t even at work, he suddenly got violently angry with me and was gaslighting me. We could just sign the lease together. I was happy. He was my best friend. I was completely blindsided. I found out that he moved to another state. what a coward to not even be able to have a conversation with me.

Normally the first 5 years a couple is on honeymoon time. But Jeanne should never have married a man with 3 babies mamas in his background. He is not a committed man. I wouldn’t be surprised if she became controlling after the baby was born. Yes, I do think cultural differences played a huge part in their divorce. Jeanie Ma strike me as the type of woman who expects the father of her child to always be next to her 24/7 in co-parenting because of her cultural beliefs. Jeezy strike me as the type to co-parent whenever he’s available. His main priority was making sure that the finances were where they needed to be to provide for his family. Both of them should have been willing to make the sacrifices needed in order to keep their family together for the sake of the child.
