My wife and I had the opportunity to do a meet and greet with PT in Versailles, Ohio, in July, 2016...he was truly a gracious, friendly guy who swapped stories with us on our dachsunds...
He wasn't friendly at all when I met him! They didn't even have but about 10 shirts for sale & not one in XL! He acted like it was a huge annoyance to even acknowledge my saying hello. 100% opposite to Don Dokken, Dio, King Diamond, Savatage, TSO, LA Guns and the other rock heroes I've gotten to meet. I'm glad he was cool to y'all, though!
I saw PT free in Dallas back in the 80s he played on a semi truck flat bed for a stage behind a guitar shop probably Guitar Center but I don't remember. I have photos somewhere. Been a fan for longer then I can remember lol
Where was this filmed? I swear, it looks like the show I attended in Amarillo, Tx @ the now-defunct Midnight Rodeo club. And the guy yelling "Stevie!" sounds like me, as that's been my favorite Travers song since about 1980 or '81!
Topping his original recording must be hard, It's still one the most kickass rock recordings ever. The moment the bass starts playing walking bass on this, the tightness flyes away. Pat doesn't sing straight on the beat, that also makes it "not so in your face", it can be a way avoiding strain on the vocal chord and I understand that. To me the original was/is like Count Basie on Coke, it swings hard and is super tight in between. Still a PT fan :-)
Never heard of this band; they were on my reccy list when I was listening to the Youngbloods "S'boro Blues." Well it's not what I was expecting, but I like what I'm hearing.
Doesn't get any better than this!
