A dual edge balisong is refered to as a "talisong" and there is some controversy as too weather or not a dual sided blade with a small flat edge near the bottom of the blade still counts as a talisong or not. You can still flip the full talisongs, just only using the handles and the spine

My most expensive knife is a $5000 Mick Strider Custom SMF Nightmare Grind- Damascus/Copper I bought from Monkey Edge last year. I don't wear gloves while handling it and have even carried it a few times. I definitely enjoy looking at it, but damn if I'm not going to play around with it some too. Years ago I had a Mustang Cobra I bought new. I only drove on perfect weather days, and kept it in my garage. When I got divorced my X got the car. She and my daughter drove it daily, good for them. After that I decided I'm not buying anything I can enjoy using, even if that means it might lose monetary value. So what, can't take it with me. Not criticism about your decision to wear a glove while handling this rare balisong. We all do what makes us happy. At least we should. Good thing that's not my knife because I'd definitely be playing with it. Double edge would certainly limit what I could do, but still there's a lot of openings, aerials and a few tricks that would be fun to try with that one.
