She's been such an inspiration of mine!!! From 325 pounds to 6 100 Mile buckles. And now I'm officially an entrant in the 2023 Moab 240 Mile endurance race. Was just a dream 2 years ago I couldn't run a mile. Now 15 a day is reasonable. Through hard work dedication and cutting off everything in your life except the task at hand and setting your emotion to the side. Then the world becomes your playground.
Damn. Congratulations on all your successes, brother, that’s astonishing to me. I feel like my two young daughters would have to run WITH me for me to be able to find time to put in such an effort as you. That’s amazing. God bless. 🙏🏻
Hey man. My name is Faruk Garibovic. I ran the Moab 240 last year and DNF at mile 102. I’m doing the race again this year and as I was looking through the entrants, I noticed your name and age. I was the youngest to ever compete in the race, now you are one of the youngest to compete as well. I have a lot of advice for you about the race if you are interested. If not, good luck with the race and looking forward to seeing you in Moab!
4 months ago I decided I spent enough time watching my wife spend all her free time training and getting the miles in while I stayed at home with our two little boys, They need to see mommy do hard things chasing her dreams and they need to know daddy will support them and their mommy in their dreams as best as possible. Now we chase mommy with a double jogging stroller with both them loaded up for 50 to 80 miles a week. Anything’s possible, just gotta keep trying !
Courtney's wild humility. That first 50k went "better than expected". She won the women's race and got 12th overall. So awesome to see such a high performer being so humble. Great interview.
"If Courtney comes off as a lamb, I pity the wolf that hunts her." -- This is a great perspective of who Courtney seems to be. Cam, I appreciate you asking the questions you know she won't answer. When you asked who her rivals are...haha!
What I love about Courtney, is that even though she’s an elite endurance athlete, she just comes across as a normal person who doesn’t take things too seriously. She just does her best, and it lands her where it lands her.
This has become one of my fav series/podcasts out there today. I love people who get after it and don't complain. There is nothing to complain about. Don't like something? Change it. Bettet yet, DO IT ANYWAY. Str8up. Stay hard my friends. Keep hammering.
Courtney is on another level, I get the impression that when she competes, it’s against herself and the barriers around her. When asked about who’s you biggest competitor, it seems like her answer is me & my barriers…. She’s such an inspiration to me, lace them up and crack on, incremental grains of sand… great interview 🙏🏼
Listening to this interview for the 1st time today 9 months after it was posted. Realizing that this conversation manifested quite possibly the most epic championship season in all of sports history. Mind Blown!!!
One of my all time heroes. Hands down. If i dont think i can do something, i refer back to her and say bullshit. I can do this long ass run. She's amazing.
Cam and Court!!! I have no plans of becoming an ultra runner, but love what you both share! You are both inspire me to DO better in the dark, because nobody cares! Thanks for a great conversation!
This is a great interview. Cameron not only asks the right questions, from the perspective of a bona-fide endurance runner. He also digs into some interesting details. Courtney is fascinating, and it's nice learning what makes her so great.
As a fairly new runner I started in 2019 never ran at any level listening to 2 accomplished runners talk about running is just incredible. I appreciate the insight to the mental part of it and hearing them talk about the stuff I think about and go through is really cool.
I normally listen to the podcast while I'm at work or on a run but honestly the moment I saw Courtney was on Instagram with Cameron I knew what was going down and this is definitely one of those episodes I watch on the big screen hyped!!
What a great episode! Both of these humans are true inspirations. Cam is a great host. He not only asks quality questions but he really listens. He doesn’t just say ya ya ya. It makes a huge difference in quality. Great job guys!
Thank you for this Andrew ( & David) I have been following David’s story for a while now, read his first book and have always wanted to hear more about his working mind. You brought him to those moments very well with your questions and reflections and science 😊 So many great moments, one of them for me is minute 47 - about the way we ‘grow’ will power and how it looks in our brain. I m ‘excited’ to put these ideas into practice in my life. Stay blessed Andrew and David. ❤❤😊
YESS !! So much respect for you and your team Cam, thank you so much. Chad and then Courtney? Freaking incredible. From the launch of this podcast and on going, just absolute fire !!! 🙏🏼
Cameron & Courtney- Thank you for this ❤ Just DNF'd in a 100- needed to hear this. Took some of the sting off hearing Courtney share the same exp Thank you !!
I dnfed rocky raccoon 100 this year. Don’t give up! There is always next year! Also make sure your peak week is at least 100 miles. You need your legs to map out the feeling of 100 miles to be durable. We will get it next time!
I absolutely love the Podcasts Cameron. Although every time I listen to one it makes me feel like such a slacker. Your guests are all beasts in their own right. All of you push me to be better and I appreciate it. Although I'm 59 years old and I know my body isn't getting younger, mentally "I know I can do better". So I push on. Thanks for the shove.
At my first hearing of this episode I missed your own set goal Cameron for Courtney to win Western States 100, Hardrock 100 and UTMB in one summer 🔥 And Courtney the Queen of trail running did it 💪💪💪 She‘s unreal dude 🔥🔥🔥 magnificent 🙇♂️ She completed it and I‘m pretty sure Courtney wouldn’t brag about it like she behave in this interview 🙏 I think that is because Courtney knows that everybody is capable of it and so in her mind she is nothing special in that regard 😁 For me Courtney is really a big role model how to approach life in general 🔥🔥🔥 Thank you for making this interview Cameron 🔥🔥🔥
Insane that they talk about "Theoretically, you win Hard Rock, you win Western States, is it possible for someone to win UTMB after that?" Of course, Courtney says YES! what an absolute boss.
I love how this takes place before Western States 100 and Hardrock 100 and asks "hypothetically, would winning Western and then hardrock in the same summer make you happy". And that's what ends up happening
Absolutely love everything about this! Been using the shit out of these two for years trying to improve my running and sticking with it through the hard times!
Best interview with her I ever heart. All the correct questions are being brought with great answers although they seem to be avoiding, but instead you get to see how she really evaluates the sport and herself. You also just notice that it's more difficult for her to answer with the standard political correct answers because the questions are defined nice with all respect. Could be because you also already know each other. Enjoyed every minute!
You need to listen to Dylan Bowman's podcasts and his 2022 interview of Courtney after her failed Hardrock. He asks far better questions and culled far more interesting responses from Courtney. Further, if you are super into running, Dylan's podcasts are far more interesting.
Hard Rock, Western States 100 and UTMB. I am declaring that the triple crown of ultra running. I think Courtney could do it out of anybody running ultras right now.
Great answer from Courtney! Why should it be only one winner?! I just went to a race where 2 man arrived at finish at same time and stopped to play a game (rock papper ) to decide who finish first. I believe that is an old paradigm of ego , instead of a heart based where 2 or 3 people can be winners at same time. There does not have to be only one first place. Who decided that? What if you have 2 people at same performance? 😊

That’s Amazing! Good on ya!❤😊
"Could one person win all three races in one summer?" Courtney then proceeds to do it.
Courtney is a legend, this one will be good! She's one of the few who can make a 100 mile run look like a casual stroll.
That why I love Pete so much. Who would of thought? Commenting on a cam Hanes video. You're a legend brother
Courtney's wild humility. That first 50k went "better than expected". She won the women's race and got 12th overall. So awesome to see such a high performer being so humble.
Great interview.
28:00 - "could one person win all 3?" Yep she went and did it. Absolute legend.
Right, then proceeded to win them all is so insane. She is one of my hero’s.
So humble. She was asked what are your strengths in endurance running. She goes straight to her weaknesses. Pretty cool
"If Courtney comes off as a lamb, I pity the wolf that hunts her." -- This is a great perspective of who Courtney seems to be. Cam, I appreciate you asking the questions you know she won't answer. When you asked who her rivals are...haha!
😊😊😊
15 episodes and still by far my new favourite podcast.
What I love about Courtney, is that even though she’s an elite endurance athlete, she just comes across as a normal person who doesn’t take things too seriously. She just does her best, and it lands her where it lands her.
Thank you for this interview! The last full-on interview I saw of Courtney was from Rich Roll .. years ago! Thanks CAM.
This has become one of my fav series/podcasts out there today. I love people who get after it and don't complain. There is nothing to complain about. Don't like something? Change it. Bettet yet, DO IT ANYWAY. Str8up. Stay hard my friends. Keep hammering.

Some may argue she’s the best ultra marathon runner .. not just the best female
All in baggy shorts.
they can argue but they'd be wrong
@@GuitarBloodlines when it comes to 200 plus mile races I think there is an argument. She holds the MOAB record.
@@aaronpannell6401 she holds the womens MOAB record, but there are 3 men faster than her
@@GuitarBloodlines my bad. I misread the Google search.
Rolemodels like you guys needs the world the most atm. THANKS!

She’s so cool ! The lift run shoot is going to be epic !
Shes gonna be the one telling cam hes doing good 😂
What a great episode! Both of these humans are true inspirations. Cam is a great host. He not only asks quality questions but he really listens. He doesn’t just say ya ya ya. It makes a huge difference in quality. Great job guys!
Yes! Been waiting on this one. Courtney is such a badass 🔨🔨🔨🔨🔨🪨
Always stay humble Courtney, it's really really nice to see.
Of All the ultra athletes I’ve listened to, Courtney is an Amazing example and inspiration for young athletes❤
Just have to say: very good interview of Courtney, Cam! Best one yet. Takes one to understand one.
Cam's podcast game is on point. Keep 'em coming man, one of the best podcasts out there.

Two legends who got me into running long distance 👊🏼 great listen with humble people
Such a great conversation! Can't wait to watch the Run, lift, shoot!
So pumped on this one!!! Thanks Cam!
So pumped for this! Two absolute legends in their respective crafts
Thanks for the incredible content cam!
long awaited episode! Thanks Cam!
We need a 100k lift run shoot with David goggins
YESS !!
So much respect for you and your team Cam, thank you so much.
Chad and then Courtney? Freaking incredible. From the launch of this podcast and on going, just absolute fire !!! 🙏🏼
Cameron & Courtney- Thank you for this ❤
Just DNF'd in a 100- needed to hear this. Took some of the sting off hearing Courtney share the same exp
Thank you !!
If finishing a 100mile'er would be easy, would it feel as nice as it does? knowing it could fail makes the experience so much nicer
Don’t lose perspective of how hard of a task you’re trying to complete. Most people can’t complete a 5k. You aren’t most people. Keep pushing!
I dnfed rocky raccoon 100 this year. Don’t give up! There is always next year! Also make sure your peak week is at least 100 miles. You need your legs to map out the feeling of 100 miles to be durable. We will get it next time!
I've been waiting for this since episode 1 🎉🎉🎉

Another great podcast. If Goggins were to come on this podcast I think the universe would explode.
Cam and Courtney are an inspiration to be the best version of yourself. Thanks guys 👊
Insane that they talk about "Theoretically, you win Hard Rock, you win Western States, is it possible for someone to win UTMB after that?"
Of course, Courtney says YES! what an absolute boss.
I literally just thought the same thing.
Awesome! I was wondering when we would see her on here. Very cool
1 MORE WIN 🏆 She can do it! UTMB let’s goooooo!
Courtney is so humble, she gives credit to the target on a 101 yard shot. How can you not admire that woman?
Second time listening to this. Thanks!
My two favorites in one podcast! Awesome!!! Just in time to pump me up for my first 50😁😁😁
Thanks for this wonderful conversation, so many insights from two great living examples 🙏
Girl is just off the charts! What a Legend!
This was a pleasant surprise! I needed a lunch run today in the rain! Courtney is a inspiration to me!
This conversation is hilarious, thanks, it makes me laugh many times 😁✌️

She’s awesome, man. Loved this episode!
Great POD and video!!!
And here she is on the precipice of trying them all!❤
I’ve been waiting for this one!
Best podcast ever :) the humble personality of both of them is amazing.
Cam every successive episode is getting better and better. It didn’t start off bad either.
Awesome conversation. Two great people.
Loved hearing these two chat!
Such an incredible soul! Amazing runner and human being. Excellent podcast!
Love this! So happy to see.
I love this interview!!! ❤
Worlds best Cam. I’m dropping the female.
Man love y'all dude. Keep 'em comin. Love this series. Keep hammering!
I love how this takes place before Western States 100 and Hardrock 100 and asks "hypothetically, would winning Western and then hardrock in the same summer make you happy". And that's what ends up happening
Oh my goodness! She has now hit that goal of winning the triple!
One of my favorite Ultra Runners!
I have a chance of meeting Courtney in a couple weeks! She’s running only 3 miles away from my house. Such an inspiration. Full send
Courtney is a hero of mine. For sure.
You two humans changed and inspired my whole world 🌎
She crushed your goal for her!!!!
I love her so much, thank you Cam!
Just watching this now after she did win the triple Crown amazing!
Legends. Nice one, Cam
This is a great podcast!
This is a podcast that had to happen.
Here's to the inspiration and drive of the human spirit. 👍🇺🇲
Absolutely love everything about this! Been using the shit out of these two for years trying to improve my running and sticking with it through the hard times!
Courtney and Can are some of my two favorite people 👏
27:27 Cameron predicts the future

Why is the title say best female ultra runner….she’s the best ultra runner period
nah, she's in 2nd tbh
No, she's not. Don't be daft.
At 8min 45s he mentioned that. That he feels bad saying females when she's done so much for elite ultra running.
Been waiting on this one hammer away to this
Courtney "Pain Cave" Dauwalter, BEAST
wow, never watched cam hanes interviews before..but I have to say I like his style and the questions he asks.
Amazing, such a legend
Great stuff
I would LOVE if Courney got her own UA-cam account. More content from Courtney would be awesome!!!!!!
Can’t wait for the run, lift, shoot on this one 😤
Hell. Yeah. Courtney is amazing!
Hard Rock, Western States 100 and UTMB. I am declaring that the triple crown of ultra running. I think Courtney could do it out of anybody running ultras right now.
Damn, what a great interview…
Please do a lift run shoot!
Great answer from Courtney! Why should it be only one winner?! I just went to a race where 2 man arrived at finish at same time and stopped to play a game (rock papper ) to decide who finish first. Y’all should run Ohios Backyard Ultra. It’s one of the premier affiliate backyard ultras in the country!
Nailed that lofty goal 👌👌
I'm a male (like it matters) and Courtney is on my top 5 hero list
Great content!
I’ve been waiting a week since you first posted a picture with Courtney…
Courtney 🏃♀️ such a wonderful soul 🏃♀️🏔️
