Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 лют 2025
- Let’s chat about eating for your cycle - specifically how to sync your life to your cycle with food so you can balance your hormones and feel your best. The cycle syncing diet basically outlines eating for your period, as well as the 3 other phases of the menstrual cycle which I cover in this video.
The cycle syncing method is powerful and I highly recommend every woman give it a try - but in today’s video, we’re talking specifically about food/diet. When you start living in alignment with your hormones, I promise you that you will feel better, have more energy, and your periods will be healthier, too!
I hope you find this insightful! :)

Amazing Educational video
Great video, thank you!! I watched this because I’m ravenously hungry during my luteal phase. I used to try and control it but now I let myself have chocolate and popcorn if that’s what my body is craving 😂 but I wanted to also add that sometimes I get “stuck” in luteal phase for a long time, anyone else get this? This can make my cycle really long like 40-50 days instead of 30…
thank u! Such an informative yet simple video. i want to start working on a healthier menstrual cycle. pms hits really hard tbh
Hormonal problems really kills and worse if you have endometriosis .Thanks got this video it's helpful

Thanks for this great video, started doing this with Bellabeat so it will be interesting to see if it will work!
You’re welcome! Hope it’s helpful!! 💛
Love this video! I am really determined to get more in touch with my cycle but I always give up on tracking it in those apps. Are there any applications or other ways to track/know what part of your cycle you're in that you recommend?
So I track my cycle naturally using the Kindara app and my temperature but there is also an app called Flo that will predict what phase of your cycle you're in...and if you're pretty regular/consistent then it can be accurate! :)
How is cycle tracking going so far?
Thanks for the video. Today I was craving sweet potatoes and I’m currently in my luteal phase- then I read online that we should be eating sweet potatoes daily during this stage haha very ironic!!
You are already super in tune with your body!! That’s awesome!! ❤️❤️
omg i love this video
Yes! In The Flo by Alisa Vitti! It's amazing 😍
I'd also recommend "The Happy Hormone Guide" by Shannon Leparski
Very informative video, and I love the lighting
Thank you!! 💕
This is amazing! Thanks for sharing :) I wonder what your sources are? Like a book or something I can read and look more deeply into it 3)
Check out the book I linked in the description!! That’s where I got most of this info from and she has sources in there 😊
How do I adjust these foods to what is appropriate for the season? For example, although I crave fresher and lighter foods during the follicular and ovulatory phases, when it cold outside I can't bring my self to eat salads lol
Do you have a list of the foods for each phase?
Thank you for this, I'm visually impaired and I just hit the menstrel (bleed) phase today and I've been eating hot/warm Oatmeal as I'm feeling a fatigue wave and chills from this phase. I've been heading the hunger ques with hot Oatmeal.
I need to do something about my cravings or approach to them then lol. When I listen to them I end up eating too much dairy, refined carbs and additives and end up with hot flashes and vomiting. My prostaglandins go way up if I'm not careful. Ibuprofen = my anti inflammatory candy.
Whole grain sandwiches, toast with yogurt and blueberries or cherries, root vegetables, fall cooking style diet could be a proper solution I suppose. Feeding those cravings in a nonbingey way is something to keep in mind so you're not paying later.
Thank you for all the info :) you got yourself a new sub ;)
Happy to have you! ❤️❤️
i’m literally insatiable right before my period it’s insane 😭
I'm in my luteal phase (late luteal so definitly feeling the pms) and my hunger is insane +chocolate cravings+binge eating disorder, I am having fun (not) but I am gonna write this down, hopefully this helps
I am curious if you have any information on working out for your cycle. I have always struggled to try to maintain a healthy hormone level, but it has become particularly challenging since I started lifting weights and running. I do love doing these exercises and don’t want to stop, but would like to know how to do them in a supportive way to my cycle
I have a video on that!
Thanks for the video. I am curious about PMDD. All of my hormones are fine and balanced according to blood work but the way my brain and body reacts to the hormones seems to be the problem. When I’m hearing that i’m getting symptoms because my
hormones aren’t balanced, it’s confusing. Just curious your thoughts
Thanks a lot 🎉helpful
Hi there! Thank you for sharing. Do you think B vitamins should be taken everyday, or just during the luteal phase? Thanks!
Depends on the person! I do take them everyday - if you do take them, try to make sure they’re the “methyl” form
Ovulation is supposed to be an energetic phase? I've heard that it really drags u down
Great video. Very informative information, thank you. I’m a new subscriber. I use the app Flo and find it to be helpful.
I do have a question about cycles and wanted to get your thoughts. I notice my monthly cycle changes according to the seasons. About twice a year I switch to getting my period at the new moon when the spring and fall arrive ( vs the full moon, the which is when I have it the rest of the year). Have you heard other women experience this too? Btw I have regularly, monthly cycles and very little PMS symptoms. Thanks again Jillz.
❤️❤️💕
That’s so interesting I haven’t heard about this specifically but women’s bodies and cycles are very sensitive to changes in the seasons so it may just be that!
The moon does impact the cycle. The moon's arc and distance from the earth changes throughout the year. There is an interesting article here - www.the-scientist.com/news-opinion/menstrual-cycles-intermittently-sync-with-moon-cycles-study-68429
I can lose 10 lbs in a month and then gain it all back during my period, and then lead up to ovulation. Is there a vitamin or mineral that I can take to control the hormonal hunger? EFAs, Omega 3, MCT don't curb hunger at all. During my follicular phase, the hunger level is still high. In the video she says that we crave fruit and veg- not me! Follicular phase I still crave heavy fat and carb foods like pizza. I there a mineral deficiency? Hoping that someone can answer my question!
im no doctor, but maybe incorporating more complex carbs such as quinoa, whole wheat (or trying out honey wheat) can help. although this isnt the healthiest, i make a grilled ham cheese sandwich with egg but use whole wheat bread for breakfast. i first just cook the egg, omelette style i guess, and fold it, then make the sandwich and put it in there. i also eat berries and bananas, and apples. i have to fill 1/2 my plate with veggies/fruits since i have have prediabetes😭 my dietician also recommended me to eat almonds or other nuts to satisfy my hunger!
Thanks for this amazing video❤️, I experience extreme hair fall out during my cycle, does this happen because of the loss of iron?
Your welcome!! Could be! Could also just be due to hormonal fluctuations. You’d have to dig deeper and work with someone to find out 😊
May I ask a question? How did our female ancestors learn of this? Before social media?
The Red Tent and Ancient Rites of Passage. Both I’m certified in!
one thing I learnt watching my mom is how inclined she was with her body...she was so self aware of herself..it was easier then...i think basically all this comes down to being self aware...its harder now because times are changing so fast but i still am lucky to see a vedio like this... because i have been wonder for years why so much was happening..i am glad i can explain some occurrences using my phases .
By being more observant of themselves and their surroundings, and prioritising nutrition in the body, we are talking about people that with the limited medicine had to survive and so they were forced to pay attention to their bodies and what made them feel good or not
I always feel sooo depressed like a week before my period. Is PMS ALWAYS rooted in imbalanced hormones?
lolll watching this while im on my period eating chicken and rice soup
I'm a bit confused since it is said everywhere that you should AVOID red meat on your period?
I have irregular periods so I am on meds right now. From the past few weeks I've noticed that I'm craving more raw foods like fruits and salads etc and really just don't feel like eating cooked food, but according to my medicines I'm supposed to get periods in just next few days which means this should be the luteal phase. So it's really just confusing what my body is doing right now 😂
Is it that my body is NATURALLY on another phase where I'm craving more raw foods but the medicines are kind of suppressing it and gonna make me start having periods in the next few days?
I’m not sure when it comes to the medicine. But also keep in mind other things can also make you crave those things - for example, as it gets sunnier and warmer we naturally crave more cooling raw foods 😊
Which book do you best recommend for this topic plz 💗
In the Flo by Alissa Vitti dives more into this topic!
can i eat the same food every day for my whole cycle? that is, foods for all phases, daily?
I'm a cyclopath, not a psychopath!
😁
Love this video!!! Random question - where did you get that top at 0:06?! It’s gorgeous!!
Ah thank you! It's last year Abercrombie 💖
Can you chart this
❤❤
You are like really pretty!
ahh thank you!! 💕
just in case anyone else reading this feels the same, ovulatory phase is the worst for me, my mental health plummets every month and my social anxiety sky-rockets, so clearly everyone is different
I really liked the video! Very informative and you explained it so well, I finally understand my cycle a lot more.
Though I do have a tiny little thing you could maybe change in the future: Since there are not only women who have periods and it would be cool to explain this to everyone instead of just women. My suggestion would be to use neutral terms as simple as "people who have periods".
Thanks again for this video, super helpful!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it and thank you for this feedback! ❤️❤️
Biologically, only women have periods. Men who transition cannot have periods.
@@oliestrella7695 You're correct. Though there are still people who do not identify as a woman who have periods.
Like there are people who transition from female to male, meaning that there are also men who can benefit from this information for their cycle.
Or also the non-binary people who can have periods, but not necessarily. Of course, this depends on their sexual organs, which you were referring to.
Nonetheless - not only women have periods. :)
I don't craving carbs before period, i craving MEAT 🥓🥩🍗🍖
Please say more about meat benefits for woman 🥺
