Idk what the hell bmw did but getting nearly 30mpg out of a V8 is nuts
well its not very big V8 wise (over half a liter smaller than the current smallest American V8) and with twin turbos they're able to keep them out of boost. Driving super economically and kinda hypermiling you can get these things to around 40MPG. or you could be like me and get not even half that in my 4cyl 330i
@@reidjordan4545 you’re right relative to other v8s 4.4l is small but to think a car that comes out the factory with 450+ hp with a tune is still able to put up such respectable mileage blows my mind
@@johannbrown935 450 with a tune?? lol that’s impressive enough but even more it actually makes 525 stock and with a very mild tune and $1000 worth of mods easily makes around 700 wheel horsepower
@@reidjordan4545what mods brotha?
@@Bl4ck__Bull3t An intake and catless downpipes in combination with a 93 octane tune can make the car put down around 650 wheel. all in you're looking at about 2500 dollars
Hey just a little tip, When you're speaking and explaining everything could you lower the background music or just do like a fade out and fade back in?
I’ve finally fixed this in later videos! Realized my software was automatically making the music too loud
Sweet car but the music is drowning your voice out.
Loving the video and details, but background music is way too loud. I checked if i had left some YT channel playing, where the music was coming....
Regarding the upgraded wheels... I'd do a test fit before hand to see if they fit without rubbing... that's quite a bit wider! Not to mention that you will need wider wheels to accommodate those tires as the fellow on the forum mentioned there. Also your speedo will read incorrectly since the overall diameter is an entire inch taller! Its so easy to screw yourself over when buying wheel setups so be careful.
On a side note, glad to hear that the N63 has proven reliable when tuned, hopefully mine will do well too!
Thanks for that info! I already encounter this on my BMW F30. I know with the winters on now which are the stock wheels it reads 3mph too high and with the bigger wheel and tire diameter in summer, it reads perfectly with what the GPS is reading. I am going to make a video in the spring when I put the summers back on both cars but I have already mounted the new tires to the black wheels for the M550i since my rims were already wide enough! Also test fitted the front one weekend when I was bored since that was my only concern! Can’t wait for the summer it will look amazing with the two together!
Also this is my setup if you are curious
Rims:
Front: 20x9 Rear: 20x10
Stock tires from last summer:
Michelin PS4S
Front: 245/35/20 Rear: 275/30/20
New Setup next summer:
Michelin PS4S
Front 275/35/20 Rear: 305/30/20
Why the background music 🤦♂️
Gotta go into the bootmod settings and turn off the actual cold start 😂😂
Looking to trade my b58 340i xdrive in for a 2020 m550i. I miss my v8 from my old 5.0 mustang. What’s the most I can safely push stock turbo out of one of these? The idea of beating hellcats with the massage seat turned on is too good to pass up
They beat hellcats downpipe intake and e40
Try to get the lci model, it improved quite a few things.
@@savo4284which one is the lci model?
@@josephogunro3430any m550i model that has the angular headlights and black outline taillights
Nice car! You got a link to the rotors? Thanks

Really considering this car for my first car would you recommend it
Definitely!!! I have a 2021 M550 that now has over 50k on it and have had no issues. I don't drive her hard too often though. I will launch it here and there for the adrenaline rush! Go for it!!! You won't regret it!
@@mtownrudeboi 100% agree with this comment. Car is worth every penny as a daily!
I just got it as my first car 💪 waiting for a delivery, I already know I made the right choice 😎
Looks awsome!
i have 2020 M850i and looking for intakes & Downpipe, What's Your recommendations about best intakes/Downipipes?
For the M850i I’d recommend ARM Motorsports Downpipes and RK Tunes intakes. Probably the best combo especially for the money
Dude i'm looking to tune a 750Li with the N63TU2. Its a 2016 so I have the slightly older coolant lines that leak. Would you recommend tuning it still? Just trying to make it a sleeper build.
When tuning I have noticed the coolant itself can run very cooler if you set max cooling mode on. I highly recommend because it keeps the engine cooler for more repetitive pulls. Also would recommend replacing the lines if they are leaking just to be safe
@@jbcars would you recommend leaving max cooling on at all times?
@@gurnoordosanjh3288 I have a video coming up on this topic stay tuned!
Thats crazy I have a 2020 Bmw M550i Stage 2 and only average about 17mpg. How are you getting 30mpg?
Highway miles
@@eduardlast23 yea my commute to work is 80 miles round trip roughly 55 miles are on the highway
@@jbcars same here actually I drive from Ontario to la and 90% of that drive is on the highway and I still get 17mpg
@@frankandrade8549 did you run on sport mode most of the time?
@@frankandrade8549you have a heavy foot and probably drive everywhere in sport
Hey! I have a X5 xdrive50i with the Msport package and I was thinking of purchasing downpipes tomorrow. Do you think I could get front mount intakes?
I think they make some for the vehicle would have to look it up
you should put the music volume louder so i can hear u better
What bushings are you referring to?
The control arms below. My local shop recommended me these to be replaced.

What rotors did you put on?

Can’t hear anything normally, background music/noise 😑
broo how df do u get 24 mpg i get 11 mpg in eco😭😭😭 im abt to get downpipes but they dont have the bolt on 3inch should i get the 2.75 slip fit ? and how did you do the alpina dash and get 200 mph and did you unlock your ecu so u can go past 160? i also have a 2018 m550i and i was gonna keep it stock then i did a res delete and got a whole bunch of other stuff done to it and rn i have a stage 1 tune on stock dps so im gonna get downpipes and i wanna put 200 on the dash and mess with my ambient lighting , nd unlocking my ecu would let me go past 160? i know i typed alot but if you could answer me that would be much appreciated thanks man and i also wanna get cold air intakes but what kind should i get ?
and also how do u have 200 somthing miles left on half a tank when i have a little bit more then half and i only have like 180 ?
@@joedover-i3j depending on your driving habits if you drive the car economically or hard, freeway, or city driving it will adjust to what it can project you can go on that tank. I’ve filled my car up multiple times with the range claiming over 500 a tank and I’ve almost been able to squeeze that amount out of it from my driving
I got the original 3 inch definitely get the slip on it makes life so much easier. I coded in the dash using BimmerCode but you must have the fully digital gauge to do so. I also coded in the 200 on the dash using BimmerCode as well. You do not need a ECU unlock. Also can code ambient lighting colors like I have red rn. I got the ARM front mount intakes. I talk about them in a newer video and compared competing ones. Definitely worth the money for the price but would recommend having a show warranty it so if you break anything you don’t have to pay to get it fixed.
Do u have that fuel smell with the catless dps
Yes I do but I don’t mind it that much
Would u say it’s the same as the 2021+ ??
The 21+ aesthetically look different and the factory power is more. I wish I had a LCI and did the same mods I would have way more power. I’ve got a buddy who has one and is pushing almost 700hp
@@jbcarsidentical mods or slightly different?
What year is yurs?
@@Billy00Brayan 18
@@Billy00Brayan he has the same mods as mine just on the newer platform
how did u get that dash
BimmerCode
I have a 2020 M550i and get 18 mpg city and about 24 on highway. This is stock, driving in comfort mode. I have no idea how you're getting 30.
Would be much better without the background music.
