Man, since you started telling us (we are a full classroom right here) about small licks being played on different places of the fretboard, I had been trying but it never felt that I was getting there naturally. UNTIL, yesterday evening, while noodling something that sounded like the melody for radiohead's no surprises. I got it to sound actually good, I spent more time than I could doing so and by the end I felt like I had achieved something, I was sliding into notes, I was going places that I usually don't dare going and It was fun! And today you post this. We really are paying attention to the classes, we are developing, keep them coming and the whole classroom will continue to grow,, man.
Hell yea!
The Bob Ross of guitar education. Outstanding Eric as always
Good God. He nailed it!!!
Omg that’s great
When I took lessons from Carol Kaye I remember her teaching me "The Beat Goes On" on the bass. She would always sing the la di da di dee, la di da dee da parts. This video brought back that memory. I had forgotten all about it until now.
The G.O.A.T. !!!!!
Wow! Carol Kaye.
Interesting that you choose F. I avoided that key forever. Good way to force myself to implement CAGED. Well done!
That Tele is beautiful.
Superbly taught, explained, and presented, Eric, as usual. Thank you for all you do!
Classy taste as always! Never know what style of music Eric's gonna teach but it's always something good, classic, no one else is teaching.
Such a great orientation to the value of approaching the fretboard this way.
Yes! Awesome idea for a lesson. Thanks for this
This is timely. I don't know why I struggle with this, but I need to start seeing it. I keep practicing. Thanks Eric, happy Friday.
Good lesson, thanks. And what a beautiful Tele, sounding great through that clean little amp. Good playing.
Thank you, Eric! ✌️😌🎸
Great lessons. I wish I had you as a teacher when I was a kid
I KNEW there was a reason why there were so many frets...😂👍
TIMBRES...?
😎👍❤🖖
Great song.
I’m not eating pizza but pasta! And enjoying it so much more than I normally would after watching your video. ❤😊
Mixolydian, nice!
Glad my ears don’t grow as they get better, I might start looking like Dumbo! Followed you on this totally by ear. Of course, I was a teenager when this came out and there’s no forgetting this one. Thanks for posting
i played since 1975 (twisted hands even) i never learnt any scales ect, self taught,,but i do the same,,i know lots of places for any chord,,so im in the zones,,if we go wrong, move on and it becomes an "on the way note" ;-)
I was playing with this last night while playing along with Fleetwood Mac's song Future Games; figuring out the phrases, then trying to see where they seemed to match up to the record's, tonally. When doing this, I find some positions also seem to be a little easier or more natural, so I figure that's most likely how they played it. It's fun to find the relationships of notes around the neck! I find I really need to work on slowing the vibrato down when I play. Why do you think people tend to use a faster vibrato and do it vertically instead of horizontally? Who has the touch on vibrato that you enjoy the most? Great stuff as always, Eric.
I dunno - I don't have a specific player I look to for vibrato I just try to keep it smoooooooth and relaxed!
"the next version of F, the D-shaped F, yeah, nobody loves that." Haha.
Some of us don't even really like the F-shaped F. Thanks for this. I've fiddled with moving things around and it's always a hunt and pick thing. I'm sure it will get better.
Where’s Carol Kaye when you need her. Love the bends. 👍
Another win for caged.
I love pizza. And I love your style and approach to sharing your guitar wisdom. Thanks, Eric.
Hey Eric! I’m having hard time choosing between the 68 Custom Vibro Champ and Supro Amulet. I watched your videos on each. Which would you go with? Biggest priority for me is a great clean and slightly broken up tone.
The amulet for sure - it's more versatile and runs quieter!
Do you know that the rest of the world is also looking to your channel ? 😉
For anyone who liked the intro jam check out Uncle Lucius. Specifically "Something They Ain't"
Your Tele made me love mine even more. Though it wasn't possible but yay. Just don't tell I sometimes watch yours instead of playing. Oops.
Telecasters are the 90s toyota pickup trucks of gtrs.
So reliable!
You are the Carl Sagan of guitar
Thanks man!
Do you do any carpenters. ? I like zeppelin Van Halen. Yes but when I hear carpenters. That’s was sharp music
This week it's a simple 'yes'. Going for economy in my playing AND in my comments! I blame you. Peace.
great as always, EAT PIZZA 🍕
Eric”the first layer I see is this F”
Me “ i see dead people
I will be excellent to people, but I am lactose intolerant and pizza hates me 😑
This makes me sad. Have you heard of cashew based cheese? It's gotten really good over the past 20 years. It's used in vegan dishes a lot.
@@JonNewquist to be honest, I love pizza in spite of myself and just decide to live dangerously sometimes lol
@@mrmeeks85 That's how to be excellent to yourself 😁
An Al Gore Rhythm comment.
Thanks, Eric!
Be good to you! 🙏🏻🤍💛🍕
