I can't wait to see what he does. It's funny, I watched his coming to get it video, and while he is checking some of the cars in the dark, coveting a Packard, I had identified Dean in the background, heard another voice but didn't realize it was Jim. Two of the best channels on the internets.
Commentary gold, once again! Even if I didn't have any interest in cars, I would tune in for the snark, the sarcasm, and the impressive display of wit you gentlemen deliver without fail in every post. Thanks so much for the weekday bonuses. Saturday hasn't been so slow in arriving since grade school, and they really take the edge off.
Had watched Kyle's video about how he purchased a truck that was misrepresented and showed pictures of Ford trucks. And then I realized it was from you! LMFAO
Hi Scott. I just want to thank you for welcoming Kyle into The Sad Bastards Society. I'm confident he's well versed in The Waste of Time Olympics. Once again, Thank You!
I liked Kyle's video when I watched it a few days ago. Now we know, "The Rest of the story." And who knows - maybe the GMS will get some richly deserved attention ... or at least a proud spot in a yard. Thanks for the fun video. See you Saturday!
I remember Scott's tractor from 1990 when he pulled out my truck(Poole Trucking) from his muddy field! Same tractor! Oh, the 5 window GMC pick up truck fully restored will go for $65-70,000.00U.S. at a MECUM AUTO AUCTION or a Barett Jackson auction. Have fun working on the GMC 5 WINDOW!
One of your most heartwarming videos I've ever seen, it could bring a tear to a glass eye. Looking forward to the next spellbinding episode of CWM.. All the best!
You need a “Scott’s Greasy Flips” theme tune now. Is Dean worried now the competition is hotting up? With prices so cheap you have to bring your own wheels, how could anyone go wrong? 😀
I hope Kyle works some of his magic on this old girl. I'm an old Ford truck guy (I have 3) but the Chevy/GMC trucks of the late 40's to mid 50's have the coolest lines and body style IMO. Go for it Kyle!
Goodbye GMC, it's gone to a good home. Have to say since it arrived the CWM HQ forklift has earned its keep. As soon as it's loaded Kyle gives it some fine classic tyres. Good to see the vintage tractor having a role too. Look forward to seeing how Kyle gets on with it
In somewhere close to ten years of watching your channel, I don’t think I’ve ever seen you sell a vehicle. This must be some kind of milestone, and it’s a cool one. No matter what happens to that truck now, it has increased value with wheels, and I’m glad you dragged it out of the trees!
To be fair, I think I remember another vehicle that was sold. Back in the BF (Before Fury) days, there was a 1953 Ford Customline flathead V-8 that Scott & the agents brought back to life, and I think it went to another home, in a running state, after the loving care it received at the CWM compound.
The drama and suspense of the truck teetering on the forks is more compelling than anything out of Hollywood since The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (and don't get me started on the inferior Oldsmobile-sponsored Spanish-language remake, Treasure Your Ciera, Madre).
Love the airbrake on the forklift, was afraid it would scratch the paint on the other car when he backed away though. On the trailer.. Scott «No longer my problem ». Loved it
I used that same line of reasoning Scott when I showed a picture of what a 1936 Ford pickup could look like that I bought. When I came home with a frame, a roached out cab and two sad looking doors she was less than impressed! 20 yrs later we had a running and driving truck! The only problem with that line of reasoning--it only works once! 😆
SOOO glad the GMC went to a good home. Someone saw what I saw - that rig is worth salvaging. Not a show truck, but definitely worthy of a stock rat build. Perhaps Kyle & Dave can't go over the whole deal because of cost-efficacy, but anyone who loves five-windows would garage-rebuild that 216 if the core is salvageable. The rest is as easy as on-the-cheap rat rod pie. FUNNY repartee and tons of snarky goodness. You guys are a vicious lot! See ya Saturday!
I told Kyle he should have known better than to buy a truck from people that have publicly stated that they are... and I quote.. "The worst people in Canada" Ha!
Beware of us Canadians, Randahl. Ruthless, mean and unscrupulous to sell stuff like that yet whacky enough to try to fix it. But we like old vehicles and cats and dogs so we can't all bad. ;)
Kyle is a whole lot braver or richer than I am, considering what it will take to restore that truck. For the first part of the video I was on the edge of my seat and yelling at the screen, "Where are you going with that truck?" LOL. Entertaining as always.
I'm almost as impressed with the underlying optimism required to start such a project as I am with the skills and effort required to redeem such a rusted, dented and decayed vehicle.
Hey Scott! Loved the video and glad to see the GMC found a new home! The tires part cracked me up as I just got done playing the home version of "My Classic Tire" With my Sheltie "Willow" filling in for Frankers as guest host! I put new tires on my recently purchased 51 Buick Roadmaster. two of the tires that were on the car didn't even have DOT codes on them! One was an "Atlas Plycron Cushionaire" and the other was a "Medallion 200". A quick check on the internet dated the Atlas tire to about 1960 and I couldn't find anything on the Medallion 200 tire at all, so it was a laugh for me to see the tires they put on that GMC. Thanks again for all the laughs, I really look forward to your uploads. Take care and hug Frankers for me!
You might be the most lucky person in the world to own this most excellent example of what a truck could look like. Obviously you were raised by excellent people. Best of luck.
That truck is the perfect Norman Rockwell Christmas truck restoration, Dark Forest Green parked in the snow in front of the Department store while Grandpa and little Billy load a Christmas tree in the back.....
Glad to see this moved along to Kyle. I'm looking forward to seeing the Fury on the road. I'd like to see Kevin's face (the former owner) when he sees what you did to it to make a car again over 5 years.
I just wanted to let you know how incredibly disappointed I am that you sold the Gmc to that total IDIOT! I was very much looking forward to watching you spend the next 20 years lovingly restoring it back to its former glory. Now that it has fallen into the hands of that ignorant rapscallion, the once proud Gmc is doomed! Another piece of history lost forever!
My year is 1949. Love to have one. I drove one in the late 60s selling Good Humor ice cream. The 3 on the tree linkage always got hung up and I can still hear the whine when on the Highway. Deafening!
"Jiiinnnggg-aling-aling-aling-aliiinnggg"....that and the soft putter of that engine, plus the sight of the comical, yet utilitarian white Chevy or GMC with the delicious-looking decals on the side, and the driver open to the elements, was a sight for the sore eyes of us kids. It was about the number of hen's teeth that we got to partake, rather than folornly watch the oasis roll by, but 55 years later, I remember the experience of unwrapping and tasting that Eclair bar with the chocolate center in the middle of the street on a hot summer evening.

Very funny! What a great bunch you all are, and with Kyle’s humour and his father’s speechless bewilderment, that could only be a hilarious shortie. Really looking forward to Saturday’s episode!
Kyle does great work so look forward to seeing how he gets on. I live in north east Scotland and there is a old similar vintage GMC truck in a wee town called Cullen. Owned by the antiques shop and sits on the high street advertising the shop. Cool old truck. Can’t be many in Scotland.
Glad to see it's being saved! I'm not exaggerating when I say I've seen similar trucks in worse shape being nut-and-bolt restored. This one's relatively rust free, and that's saying something...
@@Hanzyscure As in it hasn’t been rusted from salt exposure. Look at a coastal car, or one from the rust belt, and you’ll understand what I mean by “relatively rust free”.

When I was around 12 those styles of trucks were very common and seemed like many folks were driving them to have a cheap truck to work with. My real dads family had a few of them and I remember listening to the THUNK when they let off the brake when fading in the clutch, or something similar. You don't just see people randomly driving them like they did back when they were just old cheap trucks.
