Hey guys! This week we have the Mercury woodie wagon in the shop for another Sketchy Dust-in! Myles walks us through all the welding to install the pieces we made a few weeks ago, and then it's back here for some prep and paint with myself and the Dean Machine! Our Rover fiend friend Keith arranged a trip for Al and I to check out his friend Malcom's fabulous British-car-and-bike collection, and I hope you enjoy a look at just a few of the treasures we saw... I hope we can visit Malcom again, as it was a terrific afternoon and we probably saw less than half of the cars! Congrats to Agent 7899 on his new acreage! He's here to start loading up some of his cars, so it was a great excuse to fire up the tractor and repaired forklift! Thanks to everyone who subscribed to our channel here, and thanks also for all of your "likes" and comments! If you would like to help keep our channel going, you can also get a sticker, or a coffee mug at: www.coldwarmotors.com Or, please feel free to check out our Patreon page at : www.Patreon.com/coldwarmotors where we have extra videos and pictures and a bunch of people hanging out and bs-ing about cars! I would rather have a CWM sketchy dust in than a DD Speed Shop quarter blend! 😆 All kidding aside, we appreciate the video content and the effort put into it!
thanks for the giggles and a glimpse of some cool old brits ......do i forsee a straight 8 motorcycle in the near future lol .. im thinking al and the saws need another round of beat back the edges ...carton of exports and a tu fur should cover the friend tax lol theres a lot of leaners and widowmakers in the treeline. c ya next week ;]
Myles, you are the man. It's really nice of you to do all the metal work on the Colony Park for your parents. This particular body style is one of my all time favorites, and the fact that you took the time to fix it properly and completely is a beautiful thing. I hope this old girl goes down the road looking pretty for many years to come. Great work!
Seeing that red 1100 immediately reminded me of a scene in Fawlty Towers where John Cleese was taking out his frustrations on one. I recall seeing you with a Ministry of Silly Walks t-shirt, so if you were familiar with that particular scene it may have crossed your mind too.
Greetings to all at Cold War Motors. I've always been partial towards land yahts, especially the Lincoln Mercury variety. Myle's Mom and Dads big wagon is no exception. Cruise on! Dusty Springfield would be proud. My eyes kept drifting towards the Rover, along with my heart. Always appreciate others collections. Especially the motorcycles. Thanks for the show!
Love 💖 seeing that Forklift running mini ⚙🔧🔩🪛👏👏👏👏👏🙆♂️ Thanks to Myles 🔧⚙🔩🪛 for stepping up and rust repairing the Colony Park 🙏 Outstanding metal fabrication skills !!!!! Malcom has quite the collection 😍 My gosh 🙆♂️🤩🏆🏅 Especially that , Can Am 250 Qualifier 💝🥰🏁🏍
That is the most lowered Saab I have ever seen :D The old tractor did a good job of pulling. If you don't already have a set A pair of wrecker hooks and a good chain make pulling around the yard cars a lot quicker and easier. I keep a set on my tractors so they are always handy. Nice job on the colony park. the old wagons don't get the love they should.
Myles and friends definitely saved that wagon... that was a lot of work... and few would see it through to fix it... and these are getting rare enough that it deserved saving.
Wow seeing Malcolm , my wife Gaylene says “I know him” and she then refreshed my memory haha . Malcolm had a home in Scargill/Greta Valley , New Zealand about 17 years ago which he used to escape the Canadian winter for the NZ summer . He used to come visit Murray Messervy who owned the local Shell Service Station where she worked at the time . I remember talking to him about British cars and bikes as I owned and still own a 1971 Triumph Trident , also had an Austin A60 Ute at the time and also owned several British cars previously . Malcolm was a pleasure to talk too , I recall he had several Nortons and a lot of knowledge on British bikes and cars . Next time you see him Scott , say gday from Pete n Gaylene from Greta Valley NZ , who knows he may remember us ? . Another great video too mate , Hats off to you and Myles too , the wagon is looking sweet , cheers from Downunder 🍻
Brilliant work on the wagon Myles, also to Scott and Dean for prepping and painting, it come up a treat, it'll go on for many more years now, nice to see the British car collection, great vid Scott.
You know the older I get ( 59 gulp) cars like the Colony Park are the unsung heroes of the car world, I love the way they look, without the over the top design of the cherished collectables , just honest everyday working family automobiles, that very few are restoring or caring about . Cheers to Coldwarmotors
The Colony really shows how the rust starts from the inside and why rust proofing just outside the panels is waste of time. Great work saving the old girl.
I have been binge watching all of the 60 fury videos and I got to be honest with you after seeing it in the fantastic field find video I cried….What is terrific transformation!
Hey boss! Yeah, I will attempt to redeem myself a bit by passing along the CXs for Stephen to hoard for a while! I'll pass it along to Myles, who really hammered through on the wagon project and saved that cool old Merc...Cheers man! Stop in anytime...
Good looking wagon, I dig it! Love those old big cars, I grew up driving big cars, when I was 16 I took my driver's test in one of my Uncle's Olds Delta 88, it was a damn nice car too! Anywho, good job Gents!
*ED!* Fantastic work on all involved with the Colony Park; those are sweet rides and to be the families' makes it even more so. In 1973, My dad decided to trade in our '68 Dodge Monaco wagon for something new and we kids almost had him swayed to the Colony Park after the test drive...when the first "gas crisis" hit the country. Next thing you know, we're in a freakin' new '73 VW Bus, all 6 of us, rubber floor mats and no a/c. Yeesh.... I'm digging the digital sound effects the paint sprayer makes, though. That's sorta space alien-sounding, eh? Random piece of Al wisdom: "Retards would be dead and you'd know to look out for motorcycles." Cracked me up - and I concur - and I did of course enjoy the Mopar burble on the way over to Malcom's place. Hell of a show, Scott- but then, they ALL are anymore! - Ed on the Ridge
Man! What a treat to see that beautiful Merc wagon getting a facelift! And it couldn't be any prettier than dark blue and wood sides! As always Scott, your body work talent is astounding, and I'm amazed at the skill you've got. I look forward (for years now!) every saturday to seeing the next installment! Cheers, fellas!
The Colony Park turned out fantastically and factory: kudos to Myles, Ed, Scott and Dean who supported the efforts dandily. Cheers to the double-flip, as yesterday, I wanted terribly to respond to a moron with this unambiguous gesture. Thanks for affording me a plethora of smiles and many laughs. ❤️🔧🤣✌🏻
Love the Colony Park Wagon, fantastic job, it's a respectable decent looking wagon again and no one would know how far the sheet metal had deteriorated unless you told them. Best of all it's useful vehicle that's back on the road.
The ole Colony Park was just made outside of town in St. Thomas ON (Talbotville). Unfortunately the factory was razed and now we have an Amazon distribution center. What great progress we made!
Very nice to bring that Colony Park back to like new, liked the trip to the BMC collection (Re-elect Joe Clark was an interesting tidbit from the past). Here's to another awesome week!
There’s some sort of message only understood by aliens and Frankers hidden in the squeaky audio artifacts of the spray gun sound! Really a fine episode with lots of variety. We appreciate your work out here.
Myles' can do attitude sure is commendable. Just get stuck into it and get it done, a lot of those end up taken apart or half finished in the back of the yard because of the patient finesse work involved in putting that trim back on. That's why I didn't mind the tape lines around the trim on the last Dart I owned. At least they were on like factory and somebody didn't butcher them trying to get them off or on again.
The Colony Park looks amazing ! Fine work by Myles & Ed !👍 Great “ Dusting In “ Scott !! Malcom’s collection is outstanding , that was worth the drive. Cheers !!
The merc....the pride of oakville. Colony park wagon... Great ride...never see any of these on the road much anymore. The stang with woodwork...lol. Well done scott myles and dad. Cheers
Glad to see the Colony Park saved for another 34 years (hopefully) surprised to see the Greeves motorcycle in the collection,I haven't seen one of those since the seventies when they used to run motorcross past our house, back then it was mostly Husqvarna,Penton and Greeves running in those, even one time a rider came through actually with a sidecar on his bike 😂
Scott, GREAT video! What a tremendous amount of work for those lower panels! Great job to ALL! Results are stunning! Always nice to see other collections, but yours is the BEST. Cannot wait to see your new building with a parking lot for the treasures! later on make sure the weed wacker does not spit gravel and that you have a path for pushing snow away from that door. Not that you wouldn't -- just sayi'n. Give Frankers a head rub and hello to all! Rich
Thumbs up for the Colony Park and for Myles letting us join in the fun. Also the great BMC cars. The A110 Westminster was our family barge, Dad and three uncles all had A60 Cambridges then Wessies. I liked uncle Derek’s best because it had a record player. Dad was a traffic cop and drove the Wolseley version for work. Mum had an Austin 1300 mk2.
I agree , maybe go further and make some sheet rubber wheel arch liners to prevent all the road crap getting lodged in the nooks and crannies and starting the whole rusting process again . I'd like to see Scott do this on Laura's Rover after all the hard work he's done on it .
Mom and Dad had many miles of driving pleasure in their '89 Colony Park, also dark blue. Eventually sold it when they acquired a low mileage '87 wagon that Mom still daily drives.
Thumbs up for the colony park, Stevens 1st haul and Malcom and Keith and that collection of treasures. Did I leave anyone out? Scott, the shows...they're great and getting better. Did you ever think this would get to this level? Awesome buddy. And your friends have such a wide range of interests. Not like the local Corvette club(boring!) But real car people with passion. Thank you. Cheers from Ohio!
I cannot tell you all how much I was smiling to see that 88-89 Colony Park all back together and rolling. I’m throughly impressed how phenomenal it looks - shiny anondized chrome, great wheels, mint wood grain. Beautiful not faded interior. And now with rockers and quarters! I own a 1989 Mercury Colony Park LS. It looks equipped just like this one A LS with velour interior, vent windows and dual exhaust. Mine is chocolate brown inside and out. The wood grain is very faded - however, this one has zero rust. Also has no clearcoat above the area you all repaired. I hope to get it regrained and repainted some day. My interior is a bit faded. Cheers to you all for a job well done and greetings from South Carolina. I’m driving it up to Montreal and Toronto on Monday
What an awesome save of a beautiful Wagon, a rolling family heirloom kept on the road by an energetic Cold War Motors crew effort. The colour, the wood and those 'turbine' style rims, wow! Hope you can take the Wagon to collect more classic chainsaws and possibly, have a chainsaw challenge akin to Packard vs Buick. Thank you very much as always, as you say often Scott, and rightly so I find, out somewhere cool, but this installment also is a treat and I am very grateful and happy you keep making a gem of a show. Thank you 👍
I love how you work so hard for each other, brilliant. Also loved to see all the British stuff being collected. The Austin/Morris 1100/1300 cars were literally everywhere in the sixties and seventies. They were the best selling car fo yaer after year in the UK.
It struck me while watching the good efforts toward reversing the effects of the rust weevil on the Colony Park Wagon is that the reason why CWM’s efforts are successful is that they have fun while doing the dreaded ‘shit work.’ Of course, here the work is not boxed in by ‘flat rate,’ insurance limitations, or customer timeline expectations. Excellent accomplishment, gentlemen!
Great to see the repairs on the colony park well done. I enjoyed the British Austin 1100, memories of me and my mate dave, at 17 and poor apprentices we rebuilt 1 decent engine from 3 scrap ones for our austin 1100 manual. Took us to Cornwall and back for our summer hols, great wee car. This was in 1973. Same colour as well. Nice to see and thanks for letting us see your collection.
What a great dust in! Looked as good as new when put back together. Nice to see some rare British tin , that 1100 automatic was a rare beast when the cars were new so a real survivor! Miles and Ed definitely deserve a thumbs up for the tin work on that woodie. Great content as always, thanks to you Scott and the agents and not forgetting foreman Tom and the invaluable assistance from Frankers! Best wishes from the UK 🇬🇧
Nice to see a workhorse wagon saved for many more miles. Those station wagons were versatile, hauling kids, groceries furniture and lumber when called for. My dad kept a 1974 Ford LTD Country Squire wagon around well in to the 1990's because my step mother couldn't get up into his 1973 3/4 ton Chevy pickup easily so he got rid of the truck and kept the wagon. He could haul pretty much anything he needed with it in comfort.
It's always fun to see what Myles is working on. The wagon really turned out great. Malcom really has a unique collection, and it's nice to see the Fury out again. I never thought too much about those until I saw yours. I really like it. I had a Newport just like your green one back in the day, so it's really cool to see one still around. If I was closer, I might even try to talk you out of it. Ha, Ha.
Awesome job Myles! That's a lot of rust work for anyone to take on, let alone someone that doesn't do it as a profession. It turned out great and saved a car that you just can't buy a replacement for anymore.
The woodgrain vinyl on the sides reminds me of a time when I was at work at an auto repair shop, my boss asked me to go out in the lot to look at a Jeep Cherokee. I asked him which one? Because I knew there were at least three different Jeep Cherokees on the lot. He said, "The one that's still in the shipping crate". It took me a minute to figure out which one he was referring to.
What a great wagon: Back from the days of the landyachts. I wanted to buy a big American Wagon for many years: In Europe they hardly exist anymore. And the few survivors are not for sale.
Love anything to do with fake woodies. I've owned two of the only ones ever made in Australia. Both XL Falcon Squires. The Australian XL Falcon is most similar to the '63 US Falcon but has in my opinion a slightly nicer front end design, and the wagon has a shorter rear overhang. They were already so rare that most people had never seen one when I had mine in the '80s. I also owned a '74 Country Squire in 1990 in the US which drove like a yacht of course (-:
Wow alot of British content loving the show Scott so it's als mate don't know is agent number oh Keith's wetting up self hear Scott all my history in my heart very emotional for me
What really made me laugh was when Stephen and Tom were talking and Stephen said, "I don't have any way to get it off the trailer" and Tom said, " Just tie it to a tree and drag it off! " I was thinking the same thing! I've done that a number of times with my various parts cars.

Hey Scott you gotta check out this video out. this guy is brave anyway there is two parts to the video ua-cam.com/video/oMxb6R-Of5c/v-deo.html
Many years ago a motorcycle racing team built a bike with a Plymouth flathead six that I'm thinking was to be used at Bonneville
Nothing is wasted.
Except for the employees.
I choked on my beer laughing at that comment.
I think I finally figured out the appeal of CWM. The authentic friendship between the cast of characters. Simply Best of Best👏👏👏👏👏👏
I remember these 80’s wagons from when I was a kid. They were good looking cars.
Myles, you are the man. It's really nice of you to do all the metal work on the Colony Park for your parents. I always wanted to have a station wagon, especially the one with the two-way door.
Great job on the colony park, really enjoyed seeing it get dusted in.
Seeing that red 1100 immediately reminded me of a scene in Fawlty Towers where John Cleese was taking out his frustrations on one. I recall seeing you with a Ministry of Silly Walks t-shirt, so if you were familiar with that particular scene it may have crossed your mind too.

Yeah! That was pretty sneaky! Haha cheers...

Good evening from North Wales again
And Vice Grip Garage approved
"But it drove in there" haha I love the optimistic hoarder logic. Myles did a great job patching up the wagon. Thanks for the fun episode this week!

Fantastic work on all involved with the Colony Park; those are sweet rides and to be the families' makes it even more so.

Next thing you know, we're in a freakin' new '73 VW Bus, all 6 of us, rubber floor mats and no a/c.
Yeesh....
I'm digging the digital sound effects the paint sprayer makes, though. That's sorta space alien-sounding, eh?
Random piece of Al wisdom: "Retards would be dead and you'd know to look out for motorcycles."
Cracked me up - and I concur - and I did of course enjoy the Mopar burble on the way over to Malcom's place.
Hell of a show, Scott- but then, they ALL are anymore!
- Ed on the Ridge
I'd love to see a 'Will it Run' on that CX
Definitely going to try! Cheers...
We need more Myles-es , Scotts, and Deans in this world.
Particularly more Deans.
Inspiring work gents. Thank you
Ahh...now I can "relax" with CWM. Saturday night complete! 😉

Love the Colony Park Wagon, fantastic job, it's a respectable decent looking wagon again and no one would know how far the sheet metal had deteriorated unless you told them. Best of all it's useful vehicle that's back on the road.

Very nice to bring that Colony Park back to like new, liked the trip to the BMC collection (Re-elect Joe Clark was an interesting tidbit from the past). Here's to another awesome week!
When I saw the “carcass carryout” leader, I assumed it was gonna be Dean after a long night of hanging out.
Nice Mott The Hoople T-shirt, Steve!
Nice clip of the guys jamming at the end Scott!!
Yes. Roxy Music - 'Virginia Plain'
My brother owned a MG 1100 sedan from New In 1966. It was finished in a slate blue. What a fun car to drive.
That Colony Park looks like NEW!!!!
When I saw the Saab carcass “rolling” on the 4X4 I thought… just like the Egyptians did it 😂
There’s some sort of message only understood by aliens and Frankers hidden in the squeaky audio artifacts of the spray gun sound! Really a fine episode with lots of variety. We appreciate your work out here.
Wonderful episode this week- THANKS to Scott and all the Agent's!
Miles is a stand up guy...it was nice to see his mom's car get fixed up. Well done guys.
Congratulations to myles and his dad great save great show as always 👏 enjoyed 😉 thanks

The endless enthusiasm of Dean - everyone should have a Dean in their life!
Love sketchy dust ins
Thanks! More always on the way around here, haha...Cheers!
Thanks for the tour Malcom, you have some very interesting machines.
Nice job on the Colony Park, it turned out great!
Scott , all your pals are gearheads/car guys.
You guys network & help each other out .
Thats as good as it gets.
The shows are generally good, but this one was great, cheers.
Hey, thanks very much! Glad you enjoyed it. We always have a good time putting it together... Cheers!
Awesome! 😎
That Colony Park turned out top shelf 🍻
Love ya Dean!
Lol at the paw prints on the motor of the Rover 90. I REALLY like that car!
Oh now you killing my with some vary specials bikes
Cheers to you guys!!! Thumbs Up as always, Thanks!!!......
Never disappoints on my Saturday evening viewing pleasure. Now it's even better with two a week!!!
Good job boys on the old wagon keep them on the road .
The Colony Park came out great. Also nice to see the 67 out for a road trip. Cheers!
Is there nothing, nor a poem as lovely as a tree? Even as an anchor point😎🏴☠️💪🇺🇸🇨🇦🦴for Frankers. The Star 🌟 will always be Stella
Tom always has a plan! Haha cheers from everyone here!
