By no means am I an expert in watches or have great knowledge of this industry , what I am is a person who loves learning about things that interest me, thanks to people like Nico, and others I have learned quite a bit about Rolex, AP, Patek and other brands never heard of. What I find even more interesting is I am now looking for what people are wearing in public and other videos and identifying them, its a hobby now. Thank You Nico for sharing every day and teaching us folks that are wanting to learn.

Moonswatch? When Moonswatches were released, some factories in China couldn't get the real Moonswatch, so they accidentally made too good watches Which were much higher quality than real Moonswatches.
The fake version probably has the same movement as the real one.

It’s wild how Nico has turned around on the NTTD Seamaster. He used to take shots at it all the time, now he’s mentioned several times recently that he loves it and wishes he didn’t sell it. It’s one of my favorites.
I love everything about the Seamaster except the escape valve. I wish it was flush with the case. I would love the black and white version.

Shinola is really popular in the greater Detroit area (and you probably hear about it a lot since the Detroit area is as big as an EU country). They employ something like 400 people in Detroit itself, including a hotel, and that is something the community really appreciates since Detroit struggled so much in the recent recession. Yes, they are owned by Fossil and thus are technically a fashion brand, however I love my Runwell and it is a huge regional conversation starter. No matter where I am in the US, a Shinola wearer is usually someone from close to where I am from and the watch often has some sentimental value.
Furthermore, they are largely Swiss-parts-based quartz movements (though that might be mostly marketing) assembled in Detroit, featuring screw-down crowns and sapphire crystals. They are overpriced, but REALLY quality and stylish. I think they are the most distinctly American looking watches right now with their vintage railroad clock look. My Runwell is nothing I would have bought for myself as a watch guy, but it puts to SHAME most other dress watches I would buy for myself at this point, especially with the personal connection. They also released a line of Automatic watches this year, but I don't know enough about them. Another thing that is kind of interesting is that they make HUGE watches. They make a bunch of case sizes over 40mm, up to 48. The 41 is a big dress watch on me, but I have a smaller wrist. I imagine there are some big dudes that really appreciate the 48.

I went to a watch boutique here in KOP (Pennsylvania) and I walked through an area where they had a hublot display and I spoke with one of the reps there and said "how can you work for them when their watches suck?" They told me they get paid well and but they hate the watches. This came out of their mouths and I burst out laughing lol

i have a shinola runwell moonphase and like it a lot as my main dress watch. not the fanciest or most expensive but it was a gift from my brother for being his best man so it has a lot of sentimental value. he got the shinola because he moved up to detroit after college for work so was looking for something local. certainly no god tier gshock but i like it. and i have a couple gshocks so covered there too.
