Okay the blue pots are gorgeous and the old bench is so rustic chic you did a awesome job and definitely should not second guess yourself. Pat yourself on both shoulders you deserve dear.
Well, again, I'm exhausted.🥴 You are one hard worker! Everything looks great! I live in the Shenandoah Valley, VA. When we bought this property to build on......all rock! When I tried to garden I would push my shovel in & it was like the cartoons....where the shovel hits rock & vibrates up your arm.😱 But, your underground dirt looks good & dark.....your flowers should do well there. 😍 Love watching your uplifting videos. Thank you. 😊
I would paint your wicker loveseat white. It would make your new black/white cover pop! I love your aqua blue pot. It gives your porch some color. You have a lot of black on your porch, with the loveseat, two little black tables, your floor, so the aqua pot is really pretty! 😊💙
Hi! It all looks great!! Don’t repaint the aqua pots they look beautiful!! I think you need a pop of color in the window box. Be it a cute garden/pot stake or a flower. Why don’t you freshen up your wicker bench with a fresh coat of black paint. I think it would look really good. Why buy more pillows? You are so artistic and so are your daughters, why not make your own? Original pillow cover would be beautiful and then you get exactly what you want. Just some ideas. I don’t many any harm. What you have done is gorgeous! Have a great day!! I hope your feeling better or at least on the mend. If not I hope you feel better soon!!
I love everything you did. Your porch looks so inviting. I am a porch sitter from way back and I could definitely sit there and watch the world go by! Hope your hard work in your flower bed pays off.
I'm sure your garden will look fabulous in a month or so ....isn't it lovely when we work on our flowers and shrubs and then see the end resilts...nice to enjoy for the summer months ...li like that you have a wrap around veranda on your porch outside with your bridge....that's what we call it where I from...maybe different there...absolutely beautiful....nice to enjoy even when it's raining..to read ..have tea or coffee in morning....thanks for sharing.,great video....keep smiling!
It looks so much better. I think you need to buy about six more bags of mulch. Maybe more. You want it to Brenda at least 2-3 inches thick. Can’t wait until they bloom.
I absolutely love what you did on your front porch. I love the turquoise planters....they bond with your front door color. How about painting the little bench the same color to even out the color flow? Also, think about bringing a small amount of turquoise in your throw pillows, like the pillow has on your bench. Turquoise looks wonderful with the green ferns and boxwood wreath. As always, thank you for all the inspiration! I cannot wait to decorate my front porch now!
Looks so much better!! Couple things: 1) Most solar light stakes have a cap on the bottom of the post that you pull out. It is where the pointy spear is to stab them in the ground. Manufact just turn it backwards inside the post to save space and make them safer for shipping. Just pull it out turn it around and snap back into bottom of stake. Lol. 2) You can use your vacuum on porch indoor outdoor carpet and turf. Works great and so much faster! 3) Easy way thats no sew to replace your cushion cover is just simply wrap fabric like a package and safety pin it on the back. Super easy to change out and wash the fabric and no sewing. Those green clumps are daylillies. You don’t trim them. They will continue to grow in clumps like this. The dead leaves can be cut off if you really want to or it will just disintegrate over time. Front beds look great. Maybe tad more mulch in them. Always water right away when you plant things. It gives the plants a better chance if they never wilt. Wilting can damage the leaves then you won’t get flowers. Looks like you need a spade so you don’t have to work so hard digging holes. Haha! Love your welcome sign.
Arika I appreciate you. I look forward to a walk thru your day. Your voice is ever so comforting. Our color pallets are so very similar. Same in recycling. I use everything until I can't. I have already made a faux shiplap wall due to you. I've repainted my entry door in a tiffany blue. I am moving and grooving due to you. A item I can't live without is my leaf blower. Next time you sweep that porch use it. Takes care of a doormat really well in between crevices. Great job with planting.
Love love your video of your front porch. Your family is truly blessed to have such a Good loving wife and mom. Also a very creative mom and wife. You can tell that you enjoy your life.
I am loving your videos! Your positive attitude, hard work and pride for your home, are so inspiring! This area is gonna be so beautiful for you to sick back and enjoy all summer.
Two ideas, Have you thought of vacuuming your front porch....(I would)...plus I painted my porch ceiling a sky blue.. with the black floor , it would add light to the area....(it makes a big difference)...just ideas....Out side looks beautiful!
P Ney blue porch ceiling also keeps birds from nesting under the roof... They think it’s the sky. Not sure whether you have this nesting problem or not...
@@katalingerstenberger5866 Sorry to tell you this , but , I do have problems with sparrows, and doves. So,...I went to my computer, printed out the ad for Lowes Owl...enlarged it to the size of a real owl.., glues it to a Cereal Box .cut it out , duck taped it to the inside of each end of the porch. No...more nesting....going on 3 years.
What you have done is lovely. My suggestion is to plant some taller shrubs at the back of the front garden. Paint can really update a space, I can’ wait to see the finished look and your update of the back entertainment area.😊
So pretty, cozy and relaxing! I don't know why but it seems porches often go last on the makeover list because I think, we get so overwhelmed thinking we have to impulse buy everything we see versus starting with a plan to simplify things first, like you did here. For example, I have my eye on two huge faux-stone planters at a garden center near me. I don't want to pay the $100 for each piece though they could be worth it so I plan to visit on Memorial Day to see if they are on sale. If not, I have a second plan to just go with hanging plants. I just figured since I want to transition from ground planting to container gardening, I can surely do this on a budget. Thanks for sharing!
Nice job! Nice size for the front garden bed. At my house I planted a hydrangea bush and it has worked beautifully for several years plus I can dry the large flower heads for indoor arrangements or to sell. Really like the black / white with pops of color scheme--unique!
Very pretty. Love the way you arranged it. That post n flower arrangement you made is gorgeous. Maybe paint the flower pots a darker teal color. My door is dark teal/turquoise n I sprayed my flower pots a lighter teal n aged them a bit. It worked really well. Just an idea. Tfs Blessings 🌼
Your porch looks really cute. We like to add sand to the paint when we paint steps it really helps to make them less slippy. Love those mats too. There's various courses of sand available to choose from. 💕Tfs and for the inspiration, have a wonderful week
I LOVE IT! So beautiful....nothing makes me feel better than planting flowers, such an accomplishment! I wish I had a porch :-( love yours! LOVE the pots, very summery color
Oh Arika, I totally love the way everything turned out. The buffalo check fabric is gorgeous and I do like the aqua colored pots. I love Lowe’s prices on their plants. This year for some reason I’ve started all of my plants from seeds, so I’m praying I get nice plants this year.* 🌱🌱🌱
I love your aqua pots! My front porch is large like yours...I love it! I agree about using a leaf blower on your floor, that’s what I use and it works great.
You did a great job on the garden and the porch. When you are out shopping keep an eye out for table lamps. ( if you have an electrical outlet.). I have two small side tables on either side of my couch on my front porch and at night we turn the lamps on. It looks amazing and it is so cozy. Just try it with a couple of lamps you already own. And see if you like it. Love your videos!!!!
Too fun! Great job with the new buffalo plaid fabric. YES! ( Since you asked for opinions ...) if I lived in your house I would paint the front foundation of the porch a grey to match the house which would then set off the white railing and support beams/posts. Those small bottom railing support blocks would also get painted black or whatever color your porch floor is/will be to have them not be noticable. I would think LARGER when looking for a replacement exterior light... not the same scale as is there now. (Check at thrift shops or at a Habitat Restore - as a cool light can always be spray painted.) Depending on the budget and style, look at garage sales/Craigslist/ thrift shops for weather resistant decor like old galvanized buckets or things to put plants in (for me it would be faux greenery), even something like cinder blocks can be painted black or grey and be made into a bench or plant stand with some sturdy wood. Think larger scale items - it often works better than smaller things when viewed from the street. Keep up the GREAT work! You can give me YOUR ideas for MY house... as fair is fair ~ I am often stumped with mainly a thrift store budget. : )
I love your porch, the buffalo print looks adorable for your cushions. Also, just a hint about your beautiful ferns....never water the crown because it drowns the plants...always use the back of your hand to lift the fronds, (aka leaves) the oil on the palm of your hands is too oily for them and will cause the fronds to die. Also, they'll be to b mistwd most of the TIME, just check the soil and when it's just about dry, just give it a LITTLE drink from the side of the plant. If you care for them like this they'll stay nice all summer. I bring mine in in the winter and cut them all the way back. They can rest a while before they start throwing for their spring arrival the next year! Good luck sweetie and enjoy your new garden!!😉
I agree with the comment below, love the blue pot, very "springy"! I also agree that you should try to vaccum your porch rather than sweep it,would probably give a refreshed crisp look to add to the new decor :) I would def take the refreshed look a step further by painting over the wicker bench with a bright white or even a yellow for spring and sanding and retaining the wooden bench. Also,a final piece de resistance would be repurposing an old wheel with some cute small and brightly colored spring flowers on one side with an ivy vine "crawling" up the one side just as a complementary piece for the bench and pillows,to hang above the door maybe(?) Just my thoughts. You have a lovely home with endless possibilities for a warm and inviting porch! I adore the CV pillows and stencil work!!
Looks GREAT! You always have the magic touch, Arika. Just keep new plants watered real good and they’ll be fine. You lucked out there’s plastic in that bed - weed control. Take care and enjoy your relaxing, pretty porch 🌷💛🌷
It looks beautiful and green! I love buffalo check too! Nice job Arika! 🤗 😍 I had to hurry with this video! lol my little one was up early this morning 😂
Wow those Boston ferns were a great deal!!! I like the touch of blue, but then I’m not the one who has to live with it daily. Everything is very pretty.
Great job. Very pretty. I bought that exact black and white checked fabric a few days ago, at Hobby Lobby, so we share the same tastes. I was going to make pillows, now I'm rethinking about covering a loungechair.
Love love love! Do not change the blue pot! It gives the porch color. That was one of my favorite next to the bench you found. Ever since I started watching your vlogs I just fell in love with the buffalo check pattern.
Hey!! I found your channel yesterday when searching for the faux brick wall like Kristen Kasper did! I’m so happy to have found you! That heart plant hanger of your grandmothers is the sweetest! So special! Love from Louisiana! ❤️
So glad you found my channel! I just love Kristen Kasper! :) I love the heart hanger too. I have it hung up on my back deck. It always makes me think of her. She was the most avid gardener and had such a beautiful yard. :)
You did such a great job! The whole time watching you do your flower bed I kept thinking -omg I wd be so sore the next day!! 😂😂. I love your porch and your new cushion is perfect!! Enjoy!! 👏🏻👏🏻☀️😎
Nicely done! It feels so good when our homes are refreshed with new touches like that. You might also consider spray painting the wicker couch black (or another color you like) to freshen it up. Really lovely job!
Thank you for sharing all that you do! I’m so glad I found your channel, I think you are so sweet. I was look forward to seeing another DIY that you do. Thanks again, Liz Cape Cod Massachusetts😊💗👍🏼
The sprayer actually slides on and locks, but either way is good😁. Can't wait to get in my yard. Recovery after surgery stinks. 😁😱. TFS. Lovely decor, porch, flowers and ideas😊🤗
Love it, you did good!!! I wish we had a porch, it looks so homey and nice!! I’m don’t have a green thumb and can only hope my stuff that I try to grow comes back too lol. I went to albertsons grocery store and they were giving away free plants(I believe a geranium) and I took it and have it sitting outside on a stand hoping that it will live. 😂😝 but I love how you revamp your spaces and do things, it always looks so good!! Love your channel too💕
My front porch is my happy place. How about a bird feeder or bird bath? Kroger has a cute hanging glass bird bath that would look great on your porch!! Maybe add a buff check pillow/seating pad to little bench??? Love your touches!
I love how this turned out! I'm thinking some Pops of sunny yellow would pair nice with the turquoise, and black and white... while tying in with your flowers down below. The planters could be repainted in yellow or perhaps just adding some pretty yellow ribbon to them would suffice.
I just came across your channel and really enjoyed it. Me and my husband are in the middle of do the same projects so I know what your going through. Thanks for the inspiration. :)
I lije how you re use thibgs you already have or picked up a bargain somewhere, then Freshen them up with paint, new cover, or take apart and redo. You have a talent for thinking/decorating outside the box . I am getting inspired!
Really do like your videos youve popped up a few times on my recommended and fellow channels have recommended you so ive just joined your following loved your deck great refresh x

The blue is BLUETIFUL💙💙💙💙
Best tip ever on the spray paint nozzle

LOVE the buffalo check! So cute!
Love the Tiffany blue pop of color pots!
I LOVE the blue pot with the white flowers - it adds so much happiness - especially sitting near those beautiful pink flowers! 😊

Loved watching this video. Lots of inspiration and motivation to get mine done. Lots of hard work but it sure paid off. It looks amazing! 🌸
It came out great! You've inspired me to put more effort into my outside spaces. Enjoy the season with your family!
Very pretty front porch. Love your cushion cover you sewed. Very nice. And a great deal on the ferns!
Nice job! To help with sweeping your porch, if you have a leaf blower it is so much easier than a broom...just something I learned along the way 😊
Very nice job. Everything looks very pretty. I love flowers and color. I enjoyed watching your video very much. Thank you for sharing.
You did a very good design on the front porch. I like the blue pot it does match with the door and brings everything together. 💐💐💐
U did it again girl. The flower bed will take off. U did a great job. As always. Be Blessed
I used to have outdoor carpet on my porch floors. I vacuumed them. MUCH EASIER! Love how it all looks!
I think the blue pots look beautiful. They add such a nice pop and I don't think they are too bright at all!

Super cute! I TOTALLY LOVED IT ! Thank you so very much for sharing your ideas! Thumbs up for a great job on this video!!!!! 👍💟
Looks GREAT! You always have the magic touch, Arika. Just keep new plants watered real good and they’ll be fine. You lucked out there’s plastic in that bed - weed control. Wow those Boston ferns were a great deal!!! I like the touch of blue, but then I’m not the one who has to live with it daily. Everything is very pretty.
Love the way new mulch looks 👍🏻
Great job. Very pretty. I bought that exact black and white checked fabric a few days ago, at Hobby Lobby, so we share the same tastes. I was going to make pillows, now I'm rethinking about covering a loungechair.
Oh I just love that fabric!
Love love love! Do not change the blue pot! It gives the porch color. That was one of my favorite next to the bench you found. Ever since I started watching your vlogs I just fell in love with the buffalo check pattern.

You did a beautiful job if I got on my knees like that I would not be able to get back up
You did such a great job! The whole time watching you do your flower bed I kept thinking -omg I wd be so sore the next day!! 😂😂. I love your porch and your new cushion is perfect!! Enjoy!! 👏🏻👏🏻☀️😎
Haha! I was sore but it was a good sore cause I knew I got a lot done :)
Great job. Your porch is beautiful. You are a true inspiration and I love your vlogs.

Your front porch is beautiful aswell as your home. Really like your flower beds.everything looks so so pretty.

Great job, love it. You give such beautiful and affordable ideas
It looks cute, homey, cozy, and welcoming!
It looks fantastic Arika. I wish I had a porch. I like the pop of blue from the pot and it's so cool you can sew, the cushion looks lovely xx
Looks great! You worked hard and it shows!!
Very pretty Arika, love it great job!❤🌷🌾🌿
The sprayer actually slides on and locks, but either way is good😁. Can't wait to get in my yard. Recovery after surgery stinks. 😁😱. TFS. Lovely decor, porch, flowers and ideas😊🤗
So pretty! I wish I had your porch!! I think I would have to also add a swing 😍
Your porch is adorable. Mine is much smaller but certainly big enough for my needs as I dont have much time to attend to it.
Tfs & take care 🌹🇦🇺
We had the wood boarders and pulled them up to find out they were full of termites! I would check your boarders. Wonderful job and hard work ..
Oh my goodness that's awful! I do want to replace them one day!
I love your porch, so inviting ♡
I dream of that size of a porch.
Our tastes are similar ♡
Looks so beautiful! I say keep the blue pot it looks great!

My front porch is my happy place. How about a bird feeder or bird bath? Kroger has a cute hanging glass bird bath that would look great on your porch!! Maybe add a buff check pillow/seating pad to little bench??? Love your touches!
Great ideas! I need to do a little sprucing you this year. Can’t wait to go back to the stores and do some shopping! 😀👏🏻
I like the blue pots!! Looks nice!
I love how this turned out! I'm thinking some Pops of sunny yellow would pair nice with the turquoise, and black and white... while tying in with your flowers down below. The planters could be repainted in yellow or perhaps just adding some pretty yellow ribbon to them would suffice.
Oh those flowers are gonna be so pretty ....I love that cover and girl your pedicure is perfect!! Hehe 💛
