Apparently there was a huge destructive war raging throughout Hyrule that was mentioned in Legend of Zelda:Ocarina of Time, yet not really elaborated on in that game, only it took place 10 years earlier when Link was still a baby and his mother was killed during it.
There was one game I can think of, Kagaro's Deception (Or something close to that.) for the PS1. You play a human girl, Kagaro, Who's been raised by these blue skinned aliens and are basically enslaved to them,. And in the game you run around the mansion you are in setting up traps to kill the humans. First are people that don't know what's going on, then are people trying to kill you. Eventually you become aware that you're a human and start going after the blue skinned aliens. There's probably a lot more to the story, but it's been over 20 years since I played that game, but that's what I remember.
cant get much darker than Fallout imo. the World ended on October 23rd, 2077. Mankind against all odds survived the bombs and as one among mankind, you must survive dangerously radioactive areas, mutated creatures and even against other humans who believe that only the strong should survive.
There is this one game that has this evil octopus/witch lady that wreaks havoc under the sea. I dont recall the name of the game but maybe you can help me out. 🤣😝🤣 Knowing you, it might even be considered to be the darkest story of them all! Great work man! 🙏🏻👍
Not really games as much as interactive art but independent projects Passage and Mania were really hard hitting. Just way too real despite the simplicity
Dude, I’m sorry about the loss of your Dad, thank you for posting this.
It is what it is. Life goes on :)
Bowser turning the populace of the Mushroom Kingdom into bricks in the original SMB is pretty dark.

You probably have not played it, but Mother 3 has a pretty dark back one as well. Love your videos as always!
I haven't played any mother games. I do hope to remedy that soon.

That was a dark game. The first Deception game also had a pretty grim backstory.
Jeez!

I guess the reality of post-nuclear buffoonery is so normal to me in a modern world I didn't consider it lol
