Idly powder is also called as chutney powder. Try adding 1/2 cup of grated dry copra or desiccated coconut next time while frying the ingredients. It will enhance the taste 100%. Also, masala dosa doesn’t usually have the chutney powder in it. It’s a different red garlic chutney that’s added in masaala dosa. JFYI.

My son's fav recipe. I made the podi masala. But I roasted it a bit more so became a bit hard . But on the whole very nice . Next time i will roast a little and keep the udad dal a bit soft .Thanks for naking the video and sharing the recipe

Great. There is Tatte idly stand but size is smaller. Your chop stick or grill stick method is really excellent. This reminds me Bengal Misti Doi makers keeping wooden stick over each curd plate and place another one. Really good idea. Thanks for sharing.
love your videos brishti, you make it look easy, and doable. and so neat. love your house too. I tried a similar style using left over daal, and added chopped veggies to the idli as well. My grandmom used to make something we call bhaaapa pithe in bengali, a simiilar recipe as yours with chopped chillies, ginger, ciilantro leaves etc and then eaaten with the dhania chutney or kashundi
Very good tips. One more tip from my side sis, after washing uraddal keep it in refrigerator and after few hours grind with soaked cool water and 4 ice cubes. Definitely the idli will be soft without adding Sabudhana and beaten rice. For podi also if you will add black broken chilla urad dal and black till will give u amazing flavor and it will be fresh for more than one month.
Hello brishti ji.... Today I made idli by using your recipe..... It came out very soft but sorry to say that adding sabhudana and beaten rice, gave a foul smell in the batter and idli too.... I think it happened because of sabhudana and beaten rice doesn't get fermented.... My breakfast today got failed because of the smell

Thatte iddli looks Amazing! Gun powder (Milakai podi. ( Milakai is Chilli &;podi means powder)..Next time take equal qty of chana& udad dal &fry seperately .No need of curry leaves &tamarind.This way you can keep for a month/two

@@drkksingha next time don't add those ingredients instead add some ice cubes while grinding urad dal(4cup rice and take 1 full cup urad dal)
