    🔥PLEASE NOTE!! My ring finger is almost finished growing out a MINOR infection...It's okay, laying acrylic doesn't harm it, or help for that matter. 💯 (GOOGLE IT!!) Lol 😘

      That is why I taught myself to do my own! I’m very very good at it too!! Anyone who really wants to do it if you put the time and effort in you can become good too! One thing I need to say though definitely don’t buy cheap products or a cheap brush because it will make you quit.

    I love this video. I'm a mom, I don't have the money to constantly get my nails done every week nor do I have the ability to constantly leave my kids with a sitter to go get them done. It would be better for me to do my nails myself. And this gives me a foundation to start!

      Please find another nail tech who will atleast teach you the PROPER way to apply acrylic as this is shameful the allergies you could end up with because the product is touching the skin! This is exactly why the nail industry is highly regulated and you should be taught how to apply to avoid allergies and learn anatomy of the nails and skin.

    Thank you so much for this video!! I love having my nails done, but hate the salon. I had been looking for nail tutorials, but most of them spend half of the time selling products, and breeze over the important parts. I appreciate how slow you’re going, really explaining the steps, and doing them on yourself instead of a model. I’m so excited to try this myself, I did the Kiss set but it was a disaster lol. I’m going to try again after watching this.

  • @cnn641

    This is my favorite tutorial so far! Thank you for this! Most others focus a lot on prep and putting the tips on (the part I have down) then fly through the lay (the part I’m struggling with). However you showed taking your time putting the acrylic on each nail. The shape and length you chose also are my go-to so that helped even more
    Love this!

    Hey I LOVE this video! U r da bomb diggity! I too used a Kiss kit for my first set but I was so stupid I didn't realize they were "tips" and covered my whole nail. Well they didn't stay on as I peeled em off n then went n bought 2 more of the Kiss kits with 64 nails or so.... I still have one, I am thinking once I practice on the hand I just bought, that I would video n upload here (tho I need to learn how n if not I'm ok with that too) but bc of nail techs like u sweetie, ppl like me are able to self teach and I am sooo thankful so thank u.... from the bottom of my heart! I have found doing nail art n acrylic nails to b my thing, goto thing that takes my mind off everything else n I love it. Noooo I'm not close to perfect yet but think now I got this hand ill get better soon. After I finish moving, I hate moving! I bought the lil magnetic stands to practice nail art n make press ons for when I'm in a hurry bc acrylics right now takes me waaay longer than u pros but thinking watching u all, and ur inspiration n love, ill get there or close, soon! Thanks for these videos n sharing ur time with us! Lots of love! And I'm a lefty! So it seems harder for me bc most of these techs are right handed! My biggest issues now is shaping! I need lessons on that! Huggies for giving us ur time to help us! I want to eventually give myself the look I got at the salon. Before I got my small porta drill I had a nail stuck on and it was painful so I went to the salon I use to goto to have them help me remove it. They asked who did this n I said me! Lol! They said I been doing nails for 20 years n never did my own don't do that! I just laughed inside and was half tempted to tell em to get on UA-cam but I behaved! However if I knew they would remove like they did, I'd just kept working at it. They took a nail tip, put under the acrylic n tried to pull it off. It hurt worse than already! I won't go there ever again!

    Oh my gosh! Thank you so much for actually making this video, you explain it so well and your visuals are so good. Other videos either have another client to show how they make the nails and it is hard to see where you need to put your hands when doing it by yourself. Also, I am done with nail salons like you are! They are sometimes uneven and other times they CUT my finger. It hurts 😂😭

    Well this is my first time watching. Just looking at how to do it. And what acrylic nails are. I just brought the fake nails and just stick them on, BUT I don't have the powder thing you have. So that interesting to watch. I might actually now go buy that and try that out after watching you. I unfortunately have psoriasis nails, so they are bad, so thats why I do it myself. Thanks for the information darl

    Thank you for your video. I just started about a month and a half ago trying to learn how to do my nails. At first, it was therapeutic. I didn't care how long it took me to finish them. Now, when I mess up I get really frustrated. Just when I got a good drill and drill bit set, I discovered while doing this fill, that I have to treat my nails. I haven't had this problem in a LONG time. I had to remove most of the full set from a new shop that I tried. I know that I need to get better at fills but I am wondering if their powder played a part. I know that the powder isn't supposed to turn a light yellow. I make nail videos too, and find myself saying the same things you said in this video, especially that your drill helps fix a lot. Honestly, I'm at the point where I'm thinking about getting my fills and full sets done at the shop again, and putting my charms on myself, but after seeing your video, I'll keep trying. Thanks again for the inspiration.

    Ty for this! Could you do a video when nail techs over file the sides of the nails, and how to add acrylic, or if someone wants to go from a coffin nail to a tapered square, without taking off the nails? I’m ready for this! ❤️

    Post pandemic 2022, the nail salon is charging about $55-65 just for acrylic, not including gel and designs. Tired of paying high prices. I just figured out they are earning $55-65 every 30-40 minutes. I am interested in learning how to do my own so I can keep my money and change up when the mood, holidays, and events happen. After all the videos I've watched, yours is the best. Because you did your own nail and not a dummy hand or customer. THANK YOU! I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos/tutorials.
    Happy Holidays 🎄🤶🎁❄️☃️

    I've watched a tutorials on how to do my own nails and by far your's has been the best. I bought a kit off Amazon bc I'm tired of paying so much at the salon and once I saw the price I was hooked. Now I just need to find the right drill and UV light and I'm in business lol. Do you have any suggestions for something not too expensive but will last??

    • @amandapatterson1327
      @amandapatterson1327 3 роки тому +1

      I purchased a drill on Amazon for $20 and same with the lamp. I think the brand name of the lamp was like “sun” or something like that. Both work just fine however when it comes to the drill you want to make sure that you’re purchasing a decent set of drillbits. The ones that come with the drill aren’t really worth a damn. You can get a decent set for $13-$15 on the low end. I recommend purchasing additional sanding bands however. I think you only get four or five with your drill when you purchase it and they come in three different grits. I hope that made sense and helps. Somebody else might have better suggestions or recommendations also… This is just my personal opinion as I am pretty new at nails as well.

    I know this video is 2 yrs old. But I've enjoyed watching your tutorial. My nail beds are so short and its hard for me to do because I don't really like long nails. I have a beginner kit and I'm so overwhelmed and intimidated by it. But this video has made me feel a little better about redoing them myself.
