This was the best knife video I've ever seen! Well done! I don't think you could choose a favorite in this bunch. But you are not fooling us. The knife that you have in your hand is the one you love.
I buy these with my own funds. So, I tend to purchase one's I have researched and know I will most likely like. But, sometimes, after using them, I find out they don't live up to my expectations. But, most do. My Camp Knives I always try out. I expect those to be a lot stronger than a Fighting Knife. With a Fighting Knife, balance in hand and how fast I can handle it are most important to me. To me, speed is more important than heft and strength in a real Fighter. But, you do want it to be fairly tough and able to withstand impacts. But, it doesn't have to be as strong as a Camp Knife or Heavy-Duty Chopper. When a Knife is too heavy and bulky, it can slow you down in a fight. I point this out because a lot of Reviewers always put down Combat Fighting Knives because they fail under the same heavy-duty use that a Heavy-Duty Camp Knife can handle with ease. To me, Fighters and Camp Knives aren't the same and shouldn't be compared to each other. The same goes for Hunting and Fishing Knives. They're not Heavy-Duty Camp Knives either. But, we always see them held to the same standards as Heavy-Duty Knives. Each Tool has it's own intended purpose or use. All of these, in my opinion, are awesome. And, you're absolutely right, I cannot pick one out of the bunch to be my favorite; they all absolutely "ROCK!" :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
Thank you for showing the end of the tang in the pommel, I have seen so many videos on this knife and have really wanted to buy it but was worried it had a rat tail. My K-Bar saved mine and my buddy’s life recently up in the woods, we hiked in and the snow dumped, we had to cut through so many downed trees in the road to get down the mountain and my K-bar is all we had, she did the job well but i was worried about the tang the whole time😂. Your video just sold me on the upgrade thank you!!!
Right on! What a Story! I am so glad to hear that you all survived and are okay! Ka-Bar, would absolutely luv to hear what you went through; "Wow!" I, myself, after hearing your Story, about what you went through, and knowing how crazy the Weather can be these days, I will always keep a big and capable Fixed Blade Camp Knife and Small Axe in my Trunk. Now days, it doesn't hurt to be prepared... I am so glad you're okay, Bro! Oh, and yes, the Tang is almost the width of the Blade and the thickness is the same. Also, the Butt Cap is made from Machined Steel. I like my all Black Leatherneck the best out of the one's I've tried. Both of the Collector's Edition Leatherneck's I tried out had real loose Hand Guards. My New Black Leatherneck is perfect. I absolutely luv it, :-) But, I also absolutely luv my Ka-Bar 's, too... :-) Right on, Bro; you "ROCK!!!" :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
Hya bro! I just pulled the trigger on that big, black, badass Bowie!!! Can't wait to get it! Of course, I have to watch your video "continuously" (lol!!!) till it arrives. Got the regular leatherneck clip point last week and fell in LOVE!!! So of course that big guy had to be next! Stiletto, great video as always bro...
Yes, Juno was kicking back on this one. I filmed it late and she was napping. :-) I am sure she will be in the next one; she absolutely luvs watching herself on the TV when I review the Video before I release it. She is a Video Queen, for sure. :-) :-) :-) Right on! :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
Yes sir!!! Man I’m so happy these are finally coming available! Of course uncle stiletto was the first video lol so happy for you uncle!! Hey guess what after a loooooong loooong time searching I’ve finally tracked down two of my grails (they should be here in the next few days) I got the rajah 3 serrated and the recon 1 xl clip point….super excited to get those in hand!! Thanks for the video it’s nice to see this leatherneck in video form and not just pictures. I’m gonna try to track one of these down I really really like this leatherneck (and I already have the tanto and SF) anyway Aloha and blessings from Hawaii uncle -Nephew
Right on Nephew! Congrats on your purchases. That Recon 1 XL, I imagine, was a real hard one to get, right on, Nephew! :-) This Mega Leatherneck is the "Bomb!!!" This one is good to go. And, for to fight, Sir! :-) Also, it has a lot less Billboarding; I like that. I, also, like that it's all murdered out, better, too. I absolutely luv these. Thanks for reminding me about the Tanto Leatherneck. I have one of those, too, in German D-2. :-) I forgot that I have one of those, too... :-) I should have included it in this Video of the Fixed Blades I tried out this year... :-) On, well... So, many great one's this year. It was a good year for the "Order of the Blade." :-) :-) :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
Yes, me too! I absolutely luv the big guard and the way it's shaped. It feels like it would protect your hand and digits from an opposing blade sliding down towards your grip area. The big Leatherneck is definitely a Fighting Combat Blade Design, in my opinion. And, it doesn't have the small Rat Tail like the Ka-Bar's have. Absolutely agree. :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
Yes it is. :-) :-) :-) This Series is Cold Sheel's Version of the U.S. Combat Knife, the famous, USMC, WWII, Ka-Bar Combat Fighting Knife. :-) Right on. :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
Ka-Bar was the name of the knife already in WW2. The first production was from Union Cutlery and Camillus Cutlery. Later also Ontario Knife Company produced them. It wasnt a fighting but field knife.
Beautiful blades. I got the Lynn T version but I want that black out version definalty. I just bought a Microtech Borka fixed dagger recently. Love them all.
Right on, Bro! This Murdered Out Version is the Bomb! I am digging this Mega Combat Fixed Blade from Cold Steel; it absolutely "ROCKS!!!" :-) Peace Stiletto :-)
I know you do; it's right up your alley... :-) To me, this one absolutely "ROCKS!!!" The only way to make it better is to make it out of 1095CV, HC, or 3V... :-) it is one "Bad Mutha F____r!!!" :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
Yes, I get a kick out of it every time I pull it out of the Sheath. To me, it looks like a Fixed Blade that Sylvester Stallone would SDEDC in the Expendables! :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
Stiletto I agree. What good is a knife that you can’t use. Since the purchase of Cold Steel the quality control really was lost. But just like the beauty you i boxed, I think there back on their game. I purchased a Cold Steel AD10 & a serrated Talwar XL both in S35VN steel. And they open and close like silk. I stopped purchasing Cold steel until this recent purchase. The dealers had the audacity to tell me that I had to break in the knives for them to work correctly. I think will have to purchase that leatherneck. I dare say you putting your retirement into a knife collection. 😁 Love your videos. Haha 10 & 3/8 “ blade. A regular pocket knife.
Right on. Yes, just about every folder I have purchased, that Cold Steel originally made, from the new Company has been awesome, except for the XL Talwar's. All other's have been great. With the first two Lynn C. Thompson Leatherneck Bowies I purchased, both had loose Guards and I returned them to MidwayUSA. Then, I purchased a Standard, Blacked Out, Leatherneck Bowie from the KnifeCenter, on Pre-Order, and it's perfect. But, that's how the Old Company was, too. They just handles it better, if you ask me. One thing I have noticed about the new Company, they try to always reach for the Stars, on their initial release of any items they think will be super popular. And, then, lower the price, when they find out otherwise. So, I would recommend, to those that like to save their money, to always wait until the item you want has been on the Market for a few months. And, then, catch Holiday Sales... :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
This is the one to get. Mine is perfect. I absolutely luv this Mega Combat Fixed Blade Leatherneck Bowie! It absolutely "ROCKS!!!" :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
I purchased it on eBay, from a Seller that made almost all of my Kydex Sheaths; he does a great job. Here's a link to my purchase for my Wild Pig Hunter Sheath: www.ebay.com/itm/265466417292 :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
They are both real cool Combat Blades, in my opinion; I have owned both. Though, my first two were the Collector's Edition Versions. And, I sent both of them back, due to real loose Guards. My new Murdered Out Version is perfect and without any flaws or Factory Defects. But, it is very cool to have a Collectors Edition. Especially, when it's a Lynn C. Thompson Edition, Collector... :-) Though, I must admit, I like my Murdered Out Version the best... :-) I hope this helps... :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
No I don't. But, the replacement I received from MidwayUSA.com didn't have the Box with a Signature, it had a very high number. So, I don't know. My first one had a very low number; it had Lynn C. Thompson's signature on the Box. That would make me think that the lower numbered boxes were the one's with the Signatures... But, I don't know for sure... I hope this helps... :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
Awesome video and presentation! I !over fixed blades more than double of other knives. I want to want Leatherneck Bowie, but D-2 when it's the only way to get the knife makes me out my back up! I'd pay $800 for Krayex handle and all if it wAs high hardness CTS XHP! I'd be happy to do it too! I HAVE to stop hating D-2 and S30V, but I feel controlled when manufacturer doesn't give me better
Right on. Myself, for a Combat Fighting Blade and not a Heavy-Duty Camp Knife, I feel that German D-2 is just fine, for this price; it's not my first Mega Fixed Blade Steel choice, either. But, this is a massive Combat Blade for only $150. I paid $142 for mine. Personally, I absolutely luv this one; it's just "Bad Ass!!!" :-) With that said, for a Fixed Blade Combat Knife, I prefer either properly heat treated 1095HC or 1095CV. And, I like Knives that are this size, with tougher steels, to be made by trusted Manufacturers: this always cost more... :-( Especially, if you want a nice Sheath... I know this from experience. :-) So, all in all, I think this one "ROCKS!!!" :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
I bought this one, the Leatherneck, to save for Zombie Warfare. :-) It's a Beast and Absolutely luv it. :-) it's a Combat Knife, to me. That's the purpose of the Leatherneck is to me. :-) And, I bought the BK-9 for Wood Crafting and Camp Duties; it's a user. I have put it through some hard work. And, it's a hard-working "Beast." I absolutely luv it, too! The Leatherneck is for Home Protection. The BK-9 is for setting up Camp and breaking down wood for campfires. It's a Workhorse. :-) So, it's hard for me to compare them; I purchased them to serve different roles... :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
What I don't get is that the Leatherneck bowie does not even has a ground false edge. I mean do not sharpen it. But I have the collectors edition and the swedge looks too thick...
UPDATE: As of April '23 Midway has the Lynn Thompson signature Leatherneck for 99 bucks. Could not pass on that! @krisstiletto you may want to try another one at this price. Great vid and knives👍 That Leatherneck version is cool, but way overpriced imo. The similarly sized Chaos bowie is about half that cost. I've got the 7" Leatherneck Tanto version, which I love.
Right on! :-) I have the German D-2 Tanto Leatherneck, also. I should have included it in this Video, since I purchased it this year, also. :-) But, I forgot... :-) That one I bought on sale for under $60, from MidwayUSA.com. But, this one is on another level. It's a Mega Combat Fixed Blade Knife; personally, I absolutely luv this Model of the Leatherneck the best. I have lots of 7" Blade Combat Fixed Blade Knives. You can see them in my previous Combat Fixed Blade Videos. That's why I absolutely luv this one with its thick and wide through the Handle Blade Tang and it's super grippy Kraton Handle and Big Finger Guard and massive Combat Style, German D-2, Bowie Blade; to me, this one absolutely "ROCKS!!!" :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
In my experience much of Cold Steel's output is biased toward defense/fighting scenarios rather than survival applications. Of course not all of it, there are good hunting and field knives in the Cold Steel range, but the company is not timid about the fact they make weapons in the main.
I want the same exact purple knife you opend it with please enlighten me with a message back and help me acquire that knife customization and all sir??? Will pay you for the efforts to help
I, basically, give out all of the information you need to make one in the introduction of the Video. D2 is a bad choice for a long blade, it's too brittle and snaps way to easy for an extra large bowie. D2 is a Semi-stainless so with the coating, I don't know if it's the same PVD DLC coating that's on the Warcraft and Nightfall knife series, but it should be, that's unless GSM have gone cheap on us but charged large!
As with all Steels, everything depends on how it's heat treated and tempered. They don't say they DLC coated this Blade. So , I think it's a black powder coat of some kind. Usually, when a Manufacturer DLC, PVD, or Nitrate coats a Blade they always want you to know, because it's a selling point. So, I assume it isn't one of the nicer coatings. For this one's size and materials, I think it's priced okay. A lot of more premium Combat Knives, like from KaBar, have D2 Blades, also. Why? It doesn't rot and rust as easily as 1095. :-) Thank you for watching. :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
Yes, the New Models are GSM Designs and not Demko Designs, that's absolutely true, Lucky. Right on, Bro! HO, HO, HO! :-) MERRY X-MAS! :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
@@Kris_Stiletto yeah I think it was ‘guns & blades’ tried to swap new Ak grips to Italian made but they didn’t fit! I think the new ones are okay if price reflects materials used! A Sale price definitely makes them worth a look! ✌️🤟🤙

Oh, Have a Great Father's Day! :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)

Nice!
Buyer beware- the new AK-47 & Warcraft… are not the same as Italian made AK or Warcraft! Handles won’t swap out.
✌️🤟🤙
Yes, the New Models are GSM Designs and not Demko Designs, that's absolutely true, Lucky. Right on, Bro! HO, HO, HO! :-) MERRY X-MAS! :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
@@Kris_Stiletto yeah I think it was ‘guns & blades’ tried to swap new Ak grips to Italian made but they didn’t fit!
I think the new ones are okay if price reflects materials used! A Sale price definitely makes them worth a look!
✌️🤟🤙
Absolutely Bro! :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
