I love how Lyn explains his weapons. I could listen for hours, please do more Lyn!
Yes in between trips to the toilet to heave up my lunch … and yes I own several of the XLs.
Lynn
You should do the 4" Vaquero again... it was a wonderful knife for 4" blades legal limit places. :-)
My first impression when I first deployed that blade was I think I’d rather get shot. Very cool and very deadly.
I have one of the original Serrated Voyager Vaquero Grande knives, from the 1990's, made in Japan. EXCELLENT knife!
Me too! My EDC for 25 plus years.
I just bought the Rajah ll in March of 2020 to keep him company in my left pocket. Incredible! Fan for life!
@@redfaux74 Good choice, Bro...
Terrifying...can't even imagine the devastation this knife can cause...
I love Cold Steel products. I have carried several over the years.
sharper then kershaw ?
@@mortuus4601 - Not even a comparison. I wouldn't trade 6 of those for 1 Cold Steel. You'll have to buy one to even believe it. I own about 90 pieces of Cold Steel. About 45 are blades. I've never bought another brand of knife since. And that's no exaggeration.
I guarantee you.... you will NEVER, EVER touch a Cold Steel knife blade like you can touch the blade of a Kershaw. I guarantee you!!! They are razor sharp. Buy direct because there are fakes on Amazon. You'll crap when you open THAT box! 🎈🥳🎈
@@mortuus4601 always
WOW WOW WOW me and my buddy that run a knife/clock/taxidermy/jewelry shop where talking about this specific knife that we have in our voyager line up probably for the first time I can think of and then u put this video out right about the same time!¡!
Man we love y’all, super weird coincidence there lol, but ya still going through blue ridge even tho I tell my boss all the time we need a order directly to get some stuff we have trouble keeping in stock or can’t get😂😂😂 but anyway y’all r awesome and I love drop-forged survivalist and my magnum tanto xII and my trailmaster😂😂😂
My favorite folding knife. Lynn is a true master of the blade.
Has been a favorite of mine since it was first introduced.
I love the Voyager, the Ak47, the Recon 1, hell who am I kidding I love like 95 percent of the products catalog
I own 3 vaqueros I even have his signature series dlc coated black blade green drab ctsxhp steel vaquero ,I've been a die hard fan for over 20 years ,it's coldsteel or go home!! I'm already subscribed , shared and always liked my cold steel there's no one like them as a company PERIOD!
Great video great knife !!
Cold steel has great products. I love the gun stock war club.
I have a personal opinion about the Vaquero. Suffice to say that so far I have bought 5 Vaquero's in different configurations. Unfortunately, I lost one as it slipped out of my pocket while I was reaching for my car key and fell into a public drain. All and all this is an amazing folder!!!
Dame I know you was sick of that one a great knife fell in the drain 😩
I have a lot of coldsteel products, but not this Voyager Vaquero yet.
Awesome design!
It's a kukri style with a point. Very well thought out.
I wish that story Lynn told never happened, but its lucky that the guy had a such a capable knife on him. If only more self defense cases were cleared up with the judge ruling on the side of the person defending their life.
I like to carry the voyager XL Tanto and Vaquero. Also the Spartan and Frenzy. (For SD)
Wouldn't mind having a couple or three myself.
You guys need to make an all black or all tan Plus make up XXL version like the Espada xl
Would love one of these to go with my Espada.
Liked and shared!
This is my favorite version of the voyager
It would be great if I won because I’m in need of a new edc and this one would be a perfect replacement for my worn down edc
...... Good knife......
I got one of these is a very good knife liked subscribed I'd like another one thank you I'm not sure which is better I prefer the G10 Espada large. Hell there ain't no cold steel knives I don't like
Heck of a weapon. But my knife is more often used for chores than fighting. Will the serrated Voyager translate to a good working knife? I’ve carried an Al Mar SERE2000 for nearly two decades, but I know I’ll replace it someday; I am always looking...
Bought a Voyager Large, this will sit nicely next to it.
Nice knife !! I want one !!!
Love that knife
is it possible to remove the thumb pin/stud from the 2018 Voyager XL models such as the Tanto?
This is cool marketing
🔥
Sweet
I carry a plain edge one
I wanted to hear all of Lynn's info about vaquero
It's great you guys are keeping the Cold Steel greats up and running.
Always have a cold steel in my pocket everyday regardless of witch it is . Don't even bother wasting my money on anything else don't care to either demko or cold steel are the way to go if u ain't carrying a fixed blade
Well said! Completely agree.
Is it really a daily big difference it terms of build quality versus let’s say a Tool store Milwaukee fast back or similar knifes? I’m considering making the jump but hesitant
@M Peterson96 oh yeah dude they got EDC for everything tactical, casual , hunt etc tons of great options I Carry a 4 Max everyday .
Even if you are carrying a fixed boi it should still be a CS unless like it’s a handmade custom or something
I’ve had too many issues with liner locks Especially if get really rough on them I’m Never gonna get a liner lock knife again
“I carry three of these 24/7”
😂 Lynn is what we should all aspire to be
A 5 foot 300lb man is what we should aspire to be... the guy is like Steven segal, I don’t think I’ve seen a video where he’s not sitting down... I really don’t understand his following
@@shawnpepin7890 it’s a bit tongue in cheek pal. The guy just does outrageous things, he’s unashamedly his own man, does things his way.
@@shawnpepin7890 really? There are TONS of videos of him doing things with all kinds of weapons that you only wish you could do, despite him being less than ideal athletic shape, to put it mildly. The man has uncanny talent with weapons and lightning reflexes. He seems to be a true fire soul and no other company has had as wide a selection of hard use, practical weaponry and tools as Cold Steel has. Lynn Thompson and Cold Steel are truly one of a kind.
@@utrak he sells mall ninja knives
@@shawnpepin7890 The man went from being a poor person just like most people, to becoming a very successful millionaire business man who founded one of the most recognizable knife brands in the industry today. He's also an avid martial artist and obviously very knowledgeable in his craft, in most of his videos he makes references to knife fighting literature and knife designs from history. Him being overweight does not take anything away from him, most Americans today are his same size but they're broke and dumb.
I wish they would make a fixed blade version with an IWB sheath and discreet handle, and the same blade profile as the original Vaquero folder which is one of my favorite blades. If not I guess I’ll have to become a blade maker and make it myself. Beautiful blade, and insane cutting power!
The CS Desperado was a fixed blade with a Vaquero blade. I'd love to see the Desperado come back in 3V steel.

Good memory I couldn't think of the name
I have always loved Cold Steel products!
Lynn has been representing this knife for years! No matter what new lineup Cold Steel produces, nothing will replace the vaquero!
I love that knife. I own one myself! The voyager series is hands down the best bang for your buck.
I’m ordering N O W !!!!
The Vaquero is a great knife, glad to see you continue to make quality videos!
After 3 years of owning one it’s still my fav edc knife. I have the aus 10 version and it’s held up well over the years and is my go to when I can’t carry a firearm.
So excited for my Leatherneck Tanto!
Thank you Cold Steel! 🔪🔪😵
I bought a "Vaquero Grande" back in the day (over 15 years ago). And that version *still is my absolute favorite* take on this design. And I used it A LOT for EDC. Even without the Triad-lock (which was established later) and being peened instead of screwed, it had IMHO the perfect ratio of blade to handle while at the same time having a very carry-friendly handle.
I still prefer the "Grande" over the modern versions (despite the new versions having "hooked" handles which offer more grip of course). It's astonishingly easy to carry in all the trousers I wear - slim blade and hadle. But the hadle ist still big enough to be gripped securely. AND it even does have a slightly longer blade than the modern "XL"-Version.
So, if you can get a grip on an old "Vaquero Grande", I recommend to get it.
(shared - but with a chosen few, only...)
I have two of the old models of the Vaquero Grande, one from the end if the 1980's, the other from the early 90's.
No blade wiggle, the handles are still in a good shape, and the old backlock never failed on me - althought I have beaten the living shit out of them.
This old folders still are in my edc rotation, one of them is with me always.
i wish they would re-release the older versions
Yes sir! Have been carrying the Grande and a same generation XL serrated clip point for many years! Wicked steel for sure!
Awesome knives, Cold Steel is my favorite knife company that delivers great defensive/utility blades! I liked, sharred, and commented!
The Vaquero looks awesome...I bought the Voyager XL Kris last month that is also awesome..

Yeah, getting struck by someone, and 3 times, with a golf club is definitely enough reason to use a knife to defend yourself. I agree on that.
These aggressive wacko's in traffic. They are in every country around the world.
Don't pull a weapon when feeling annoyed. Just shrug it off and drive on .Then people don't have to defend themselves either.
Bring back the Desperado, but in a better steel
I use this knife in my channel, bought it because of Lynn Thompson, a legendary salesman, the best folder ever made!
Sounds impressive. I might have to try one.
My go-to has usually been the 4" Tanto Voyager. Has been for going on 30 years...
Watching other manufacturers, but always coming back to Cold Steel!
I probably have 20 different sizes and styles of the Voyager that I got over the years.
Most awesome design!!!
Totally agreed....
I recently bought this knife and let me tell you, this thing is nasty in the best possible way!! This thing is a badass!!! I love this knife and I have owned and still own other knives but Cold Steel is my EDC
Please make another 2000 Limited Edition XL Voyager Vaquero in steel CTS XHP
Shared, liked I own a vaquero and it is absolutely deadly. I put my life on it. It's my EDC and I would love another one please Lynn
I have a good collection of knives including balisongs, Buck knives, antique knives, Traditional long knives , but my special and most loved knives, are my Cold Steel collection that i am very proud of. More power to you Mr. Thompson.
Your knifes are really awesome. Apreciate all your work you´re putting into every knife.
Isn’t it also an homage to south of the border cowboys (vaqueros)? I love the way you replicate historical working knives with modern folding technology. Despite their large size (for a pocket knife!) they are all in kitchen knife size range, and could double in that capacity. They probably did all the time for cowboys.
I have two old ones, with the old, more simple backlock, made in Japan with the VG 1 blade. They have to come from the end of the 1980's or early 90's.
Those have been my first Cold Steel folders, they came to me around the same time as my Trail Master. One of them came with a beltsheet I never used, I preferred to carry it in the pocket. The other one had a metal clip, but I unscrewed it and carry it like the first one in the front pocket.
I still edc this old Vaquero Grandes, because I love those knives. After all those years and all the hard work there is no blade wiggle at all, those knives are tough and strong and verry useful.
First I was thinking "what are you going to do with a huge folder with a serrated blade?" I found out quick what the Vaquero Grandes are capable of.
Those knives still are my favorite folders, followed by the Voyager XL in drop point and the 4Max. I also have a 4Max Scout, and I am absolutely happy with the more budget friendly version.
Again I will share the video over Twitter.

Stay safe everybody, and stay blessed.
Greetings from Germany!
Who else would be interested in hearing an hour long talk about why Lynn like the Vaquero?
I have the 4 inch plain edge Vaquero, and it is absolutely one of my favorite edc knives. Someday I will get the full size, liked, shared, and commented!
I would love a vaquero. I've been carrying one for many years. It is my absolute favorite knife.
I’d love to win that knife! I am located in Belgium tho so let’s hope it can be shipped
Crazy knife, l love how many different aspects there to just the blade.
Gentlemens, your knives (spartan and luzon large) saved my life twice. God bless you for your great work!!!! With best wishes Anton from Russia. If anybody look for good knife, you should know, that Cold Steel knives REALLY WILL SAVE YOU!!!!!
Lynn Thompson for the win! Also thanks for the opportunity to win one of these knives and may God bless y'all!
I swap my EDC between two knives. A 4" Talwar CTX serrated. And an XL Vaquero serrated. It's easy to see why Lynn's go-to knife is an XL Vaquero serrated.
I can't wait to get my hands on a 4" Talwar.
When can we get this in serrated S35VN?
Thanks for keeping this in production! The Recon 1 is my current favorite, but now I'm thinking about giving the Vaquero a shot!
yeah its really bsd ass the grande.i carried it for5 years on and off.its massive at 13.25 in total length.if some dick pulled out a gerber folder on u or a buck he would be a sorry mofo.if u get slashed with the serrations its gonna be nasty damage..
It may be tmi but as Filipino and as a fma practitioner, i almost and was ready to deploy my voyager kris as someone was just really wanting "it" because they couldn't have a cigarette as asking rudely. Sadly too California is one of the whackest states to live in if you have to defend for you life, i wouldn't believe the stand your ground law because i know people who still had to serve time 👎😒 But believe my i got my cs kris for only one reason and that guy sure was lucky i was in a self calm demeanor. The officer who talked to me was like damn that would've been bad news for him and said I'd probably would've been good because of camera's
I wouldn’t feel the need to deploy my knife just because some bum was angry about not being able to buy some cigarettes but based off the rest of the comment there was more to the story then I know
I love my 1st gen 6 inch Vaquero. So old school it doesn't even have a pocket clip. Came with a kydex style belt sheath It is awesome. Only thing I like a little more is my X2 Voyager full serrated. Both are the perfect size to fit in your jean pockets. Would rock the Espada XL but it is too big for the pocket. Lol. Fortunately I haven't seen many in the wild. And if someone pulls one on me, I have guns too. Lol.
I have exact this model without any clip. I carry it a lot, its my favorite knife.
I bought a second one about 5 years after my first one, because I thought I might have lost my first one. This one has a metal pocket clip, but I removed it. I like to carry the Vaquero Grandes without clip in my front pocket.
Stud....
Yes, the 6" original had the clip ON the Kydex. I had it too. I lost it in a search ditch. I still have the 6" Vaquero Grande serrated as my EDC. I love it! ❤ 25 plus years old!!! I now own the Rajah ll as my left jean pocket companion. Another crazy monster. Like a Kukri in the pocket.
I could see Lynn kill a bear with this thing…
Hope yall bring back the Desperado one day
As, with Lynn forward curving blades are my favorite to carry. I have a Cold Steel Rajah II that I carry everywhere and in my shorts when I sleep. One feature about the Vaquero that stands apart from the Rajah II that I feel would be beneficial is the more distinct grip that will literally hook the fingers during slashing. Retention of one's weapons is top priority in a fight and that feature is a paramount. The thrusting point would be my next feature I like outside of the Rajah II as many people undervalue the thrusting ability of a knife. Many think reverse blade is the "assassins" way to fight and the only way to fight but a thrust gives an extension to the arm that equals distance from a threat. More importantly penetration into the threat which equals trauma and trauma....let's say "talks" the threat out of his desire to continue his attack. I use my Rajah II for survival training and when I was teaching edged weapon defense/knife fighting. I feel the Vaquero would be an even better blade for the knife fighting/defense scenario, especially with firearms training because as I have told my students "knives don't run out of ammo".
@@ArtThouGardener Perhaps he just watches the news! More power to him!
@@ArtThouGardener no just in the hood in America...... Although apparently the hood in America is still preferable to some third world shithole where you get held up on the regular although apparently there are rules like you give them a bit of money and then they go away without trying to hurt you....... Love the Voyager series! Long love the XL serrated blades!
one of my absolute favorite cold steel blades, definitely need the whole set. respect to Lynn, mans a badass
It would be nice to see the 4" versions in production again. I have the 3" version (in clip, tanto, vaquero, and vaquero serrated) and though they're cool, the handle might be just be a little thick for the blade size.
I've always thought the Vaquero should be my first foray into Cold Steel.
Are you crazy??? Dude.... pull the trigger.
I have 90 pieces, a fan for 30 years.... Just do it!
My EDC is the Vaquero Grande 6" serrated I've had for 25 years EVERY DAY! Every day!!!
What the heck is stopping you??? You'll be sorry you didn't earlier!
Coldsteel is hands down bang for your buck when it comes to functionality and design! AD-15 is my personal workhorse/beater.
Love the knife. Please consider making a g10 version.
This knife has an s curve inspired off of the Turkish yataghan, the prefect shape for cut & thrust. This is one is my favorite xl cold steel piece.
I never considered even thinking about this knife until I watched this video. Makes lot of sense listening to Lynn explain it. Liked, shared and always subscribed.
My favorite as well, can we get these in a large version or in aus10 steel please !
I've owned a Cold Steel XL Vaquero for 15 years. It has the smooth scales and the serrated blade and it's before pocket clips. I love this knife and like Lynn, I sleep with it under my pillow.
Vaquero is a very well thought out design.
Very cool vid, very cool knifes
Love this knife. I really appreciate the super long knives. Great demo.
exceptional sharpness that lasts
Man super sweet blade!
I love my Voyagers, especially the Vaquero, but the grips are very rough on my pockets. I’d rebuy another Vaquero if it had the same grip/scale material as the Black Talon 2 and Talwar. Probably be the only blade I would carry. With that said, I use the Snaggletooth wave feature on my Voyagers and it’s just a game changer.
The Voyager Series of folders are exceptional knives. No nonsense, straight to the point⚔😎
Stick, you remind me of Napoleon Dynamite’s Brother, Kip
Stick man tearin’ it up! 😎
Great video thank you !
I have Lynn’s signature but don’t want to use it because it’s value has really gone up. I gave my buddy my serrated and have the straight edge. I’m about to buy another serrated. Love this knife !
I wish the put a thumb plate on the Voyagers. So they can be easier to open coming out of the pocket or on variety of surfaces.
