Wow this hit hard. When I was about 13 (I’m 71 now) I stopped going to Church. Stopped believing in God. And my life went to pieces from that moment. It never occurred to me that rejecting God had anything to do with it. I’ll spare you the details but I was a terrible sinner. It was only a few months ago that I heard God knocking at my door & my mind opened up the door a tiny crack … and the grace of God was like a tsunami! I was overwhelmed and overcome and deeply sorry for all my sins. I went to confession (whew, a long confession) and then Communion. I’ve never been happier. All the things I wanted in life (and searched for in all the wrong places, as the song goes) are now mine. These are the important things: deep contentment & peace. The superficial things I thought were so important no longer matter. Praise be to God and I pray for anyone reading this to know that no matter how evil your sins or how long you’ve rejected God, He still loves you so much and wants you to let Him in. So let Him in.

    Bishop,
Likely we will never meet on this side of eternity. But I have always appreciated your teaching even though I am not Catholic. In fact, I have even used your teaching on the Lord's Prayer in a confirmation class.
But Bishop, life has been hard for me recently. But in the difficulty, I see the work of God's hand. And God is working through you.
I have never felt loved. I wrestle and struggle with being loved, with knowing or thinking I could be loved.
But I am finally starting to get it. God actually loves us. He loves us freely and not just as a constraint of His nature.
He was not constrained to love us into being, and yet here we are and we continue. Because of His continual willed love.
    Thank you Bishop!

It reminds me of a passage from St. Faustina's diary: "Let no soul, even the most miserable, fall prey to doubt; for as long as one is alive, each one can become a great saint, so great is the power of God's grace." Keep praying for the lost because as long as they are alive, God's grace can find them and create a great saint out of them! All it takes is a spark, and God will do the rest!

Extraordinary! I’ll never forget the day I had my first real spark of interest as an adult. Christ fully entered my house and took over. Sadly, there were many times when I attempted to take my life back (as we sinners do) and re-enter the world, but with age comes wisdom and it’s happening less and less, thank God. I know now that this is so we are reminded of the love we’re missing when we sin and turn away from our Lord and Savior. Jesus truly is the way, the truth, and the life! Thank you Bishop Barron for your extraordinary insight and God bless you too! Blessings to everyone!

All he needs is a little spark of interest. Well I can testify that is true. Because of my mother’s illness and death from COVID I went to find him with all my hearth, trying to understand that she would be fine with him. And the lord showed up. Picked me up. I’m a renewed man because of him. The Holy Spirit came to me and I made me realise how much I had sinned and glorified myself. I was making like if he would not exist or like if he was a God in his retirement who once created and was now out of our lives…How wrong I was. He is continuously there and I can hear him when I have a good question to make to him. I’m not joking. He is truly there. Happy to share more if anybody is interested.

So true Bishop, God's love is found even the most mundane objects. Like a table for example. God willed the carpenter who crafted the table into being out of love. God willed the truck driver who drove the table to the store into being out of love. God willed for all the people working at the factory that manufactured the truck that drove the table to the store into being out of love. God created all the materials all the natural resources of the world that led to something as mundane as a table. This rabbit hole can go all the way back to creation itself, God's love is everywhere. Thanks so much for the sermon Bishop.

You not only submit yourself to the pushback, you respond with the very love you preach. That, in my book, is walking the talk. And that walk the talk is a message which reverberates in a sinner to humble tears. Stumble and rise. The stumbling is the flesh. The rise is the grace of God's love which you preach each Sunday. Gratitude. Be well, Bishop Barron.

A short while ago, another Pharisee and tax collector (Luke 18:10) prayed in the TEMPLE, where the tabernacle was located.
My priest's homily emphasized that God was present in it. As I read Luke 19:1-9. preparing for today's Mass, I realized that
Zacchaeus went directly to Jesus---again, directly to God. His house was to be "invaded" by Christ, just as Peter's boat
was, and fishing for Peter was never the same.

@@robkutner3193 I’d probably recommend Father Spyridon. He’s an English Orthodox priest that I listen to a lot! I recommend him for Catholics too

If only we could understand this. My life has had some horrible moments of my making, yet even these events point me to the mercy of God. Just a spark of interest will bring a flood of His love. His mercies are new every morning. I feel God's love and mercy.

Beautifully said for those waiting for their children and loved ones to convert. Jesus please enter their hearts and with that spark may they be transfigured.

Hi Fiona, I agree with you about Bishop Barron’s rosary. I alternate between his and Discerning Hearts scriptural rosary. Both are beautiful and thought you may want to have a listen to DH’s too.

Oh, thank GOD for this message…my heart is broken for my son, who’s been chasing everything but GOD! My foster daughters, who I poured my heart and soul out to give them the opportunity to see GOD! They’re both seemingly trapped by their family legacy of brokenness and addiction…thank you, Bishop for reminding me HIS love is greater…and has NO QUIT!!
