Hello Hamieh, You are correct, there is not a manual mode on that switch when set like this, the Fail Safe is where the manual mode would be. Regards Martin.
Still trying (desperate actually) to discover how this can be done with a Futaba 7C radio. Seems many are showing the results, but none are explaining exactly what must be done in radio and/or Assistant software. Can you please help by showing the steps involved? Thank you.
Set your receiver's failsafe to something other than zero throttle, otherwise if you lose RC signal the quad will go into failsafe and crash! You should be able to set the failsafe by some combination of the binding plug or (for 72 MHz radios) settings on the radio itself, depending on which receiver you are using. If you have equipment that doesn't allow a custom failsafe to be set I suggest you replace it because a quad always needs throttle. Check your manuals.
Hello, did you test the RTH by turning off your radio? I have a 7C also, but when I shut off the radio, it goes to failsafe, but the throttle goes down to zero. Any idea if this will work?
Hi that is a great video and i noticed your transmitter is a futaba t7c i could not figure out how to set the failsafe . cannot find a video on how to set up the t7c and the naza
That is great! THANK YOU! Have it figured out now and it works exactly as you have shown... BUT IOC - either Course Lock or Home Lock (Care free) simply does not work at all on this transmitter. Is that correct for yours as well?
Forgive me for being new to the sport, I see everyone complaining about stock dji props and they say get graupner, when buying blades i noticed regular ones and lh rotation ones, do I need 3 of each?
there is one more issue that after takeoff it move right side about 2-3 meter than hold the position from home postion and when i try to move the drone left side it move left side but when i left the stick then again it move to right side ( previous location).plz help
Hello! Thank you for the video! I have the Naza-GPS and Futaba 7c and I was wondering how you set the RTH. I have the 3 Possition Switch set to GPS-ATTI-MANUAL mode, so to make it return I should make the Manual > Failsafe? And then it works?
hi, I have a futaba t7c (used on 6ch heli,1st time to try quad)just like yours and im waiting for my dji f450 kit and naza+gps. just want to know how you program yours.
Sir my dji naza m lites' LED is showing single blink green light before take off . So, I wanna ask you if it shows right numbers of green light blink or it should show double blink green light
Hi, I need some help. I have a dji phantom 1 with dji naza m lite upgraded to v2 inside it. On RTH failsafe, the quad flies to home point and descends downwards. at the final 5m or so, it slams into the ground, takes off again, slams into the ground again and again until I take over manual control or I hand catch it, before it stops and disarms. please advice me what I need to do to fix this. thank you
Hi buddy, What TX do you use. I am thinking one has to use a Tx with more channels for Naza because RTH and altitude hold etc all are set on various switches which will use separate channels. Hence a normal 6 channel would not serve the purpose. Correct me please if am wrong. Thanks,
I was thinking about getting this since its impossible to find 3dr pixhawk at decent price. but do all the naza rth and land and bounce a few times? that's really ugly and with expensive gimbal and camera set up? is this not for heavy lifters?
Quad you will need 2lh and 2rh rotation or 2 standard and 2 reversed A word to the wise. Graunper props are wonderful however due to the cost $9-12 per prop I do not recommend them for a newplayer you can get about 48 GWS 9x5 from hobbyking for the price of one set of graunpers. As new guy your going to break props and wreck use cheap ones to start. Again its only my humble suggestion if you got money to burn get xoars
Martin that is awesome, I really need to try out my RTH... I never have tried it because I feel its like a parachute... don't use it unless you really need it... but then again its nice to know it works too I suppose.
Hi MK Drone, this was some time ago. However I believe that this was set as stock gains. It was an F450 frame from dji with the naza controller from dji too. I hope that helps you.
Hi Nikhil, it was some time ago now, however I believe that this was a 3s 4500mah 95c battery. 3s batteries were the goto size when the 450 was launched. They were also able to run on a 4s battery too. You could stay with the same size of mah and c rating without exceeding the maximum take off weight of 1.7Kg with a 4s. Hope that helps you.
@@BuildYourOwnDrone thank you for explaining elaborately, although it's an old video but it still encouraging new enthusiastic drone makers and influence people all over the globe.👍🏼
Hello, Thank you for your message. Is there one part that you need help with? The configuration covers all the setup of the system. If you let me know what part you are looking at I will help guide you.
All you need to do is switch the flight mode switch between flight modes atti and gps a few times so the naza can see communications with the radio. I don't recommend switching to manual mode from gps or atti unless you are a good pilot happy flying in manual mode and know what orientation the craft is in.
Hi, I wanted to ask a quick question: I have built my own DJI F450 with NAZA M LITE and GPS, I have flown in my garden before, but haven't turned on the failsafe because there is not enough space. If I take it to the local park, and use failsafe where will the drone fly to? And also, if I take the drone to a different park, will it fly to the previous failsafe location? Thanks, please reply soon
Hi, the home point is set when you connect the battery and gain full GPS lock, so if you were to fly in your back garden after a full GPS lock happened, walked down the road to the local park and had a fail safe or asked it to RTH you would find it in the garden, or on route to the garden if it ran out of power before it arrived. Always disconnect the battery and wait for GPS before starting another flight to be sure your drone will RTH in the right place :)
So a question. Ive read, and you showed, the 50% throttle alti hold. So, if I take off, and want a certain altitude, say 20 feet, I either have to quickly set it to 50% at the moment it gets there? And, can I have it higher, and then bring it down to 20 feet and place the throttle at 50? Whats the minimum height, can I jam it to 50%as soon as it gets even to 3 or 4 feet? Thanks man.
John Robertson You can put it into altitude hold whenever you want. It is pretty intuitive, but mine tends to want to go into hold even when I want to make slow altitude changes. I would prefer a switch for hold or some kind of indication so I know when it goes into or out of hold. I have been several hundred feed up and thought I was making a slow descent, but it was stuck in hold. I have to drop the throttle considerably to make sure it is coming down.
I've been flying a bit now, and have realized what you say. As far as descending, if you have manual instead of failsafe on your 3 pos switch, you get NO attitude OR altitude safety with 50% throttle.
Robert Rice That posting was from my smartphone, its a little tricky doing everything. As I was saying, Ive come across lots of info, and one of those facts is that you can, but its not recommended, use manual mode to fly the craft around, and in so doing you would have complete control of the throttle, there is no 50% safety hover. Some people set their radio up with a 2 position switch to override a 3 pos thats being used for GPS, Atti, and manual. The 2pos locks the 3pos out to RTH. I have a switch to mix Ail and Rudd, about 70 or 80% i think. That way I can make one-stick turns. I may play around with mixing Ail to Rudd instead, for my smaller quad, to give it snap turns. So it would be 100% rudd driving 75% ail.
Very nice luxury but I bet this tech set you back a good few pennies. Also somewhat takes the fun out of flying sometimes dont it? But if I had it id sure be showing it off too haha. Great job man.
Hi, i recently received my quad and the radio transmitter with no instructions. I have NAZA V2 GPS but no idea really what does what although this video has cleared a few things up. BUT, how do i get the quad to return to home at the flick of a switch like you did? Did you have to program it to do that or did it come with that feature already installed. I have been looking over Google for hours and i'm getting no where! Any help would be appreciated.
+thepecha7 You set the flight mode to failsafe on the last switch position or you can set RX failsafe to turn on RTH when you switch the radio off, to regain control just toggle flight modes between atti and gps. If you do enter RTH make sure you have the throttle above 50% when you take back control, or the craft will fall from the sky, not good! :)
Build Your Own Drone Thanks for the reply! So should the switch already have the RTH function set to it? I only ask as i have seen some guides where people have to hook up to the computer and mess about with settings ect. My quad did come RTF but like i said, with no instructions for the radio i am having a hard time here
+thepecha7 On the setup page for the radio in the assistant software for the Naza you will see that there are flight modes you can select at the bottom, Atti / GPS and the last option is a drop down box, you can select this switch position to be either Manual (only use if you are an advanced flyer) Atti Or Fail Safe. That Last box is the one to change to have fail safe on the switch. Hope that helps some more.
Hello, I have a naza lite as well, and I recently had an instance where I activated return to home during a test and the quad began to fly in a toilet bowl pattern and the swirls got larger and larger and it soon became dangerous as it seemed to be going out of control and not where it was supposed to be going. What might have caused this? I had been testing previously on that same day and it was working fine. Could this have been because I took off before the gps might have had a chance to lock on home?
+Smaster1755 Normally the issue is with the compass not the gps, did you make sure it was calibrated and did not have any interference in the local area, power lines and alike? Also if the GPS puck is not held in place this can cause the issue if it moves a little in flight. There are instructions on the "how to stop the toilet bowl" in the manual. If the drone starts to hold position without issue after a short time I wouldn't be to concerned about it. If it still continues to move around a lot you might've to adjust your gains and confirm your CofG is in the centre of the frame. Hope that helps you. Kind regards Martin.

Hi Rahul, the description of the drone sounds about right from my memory. If you fly a distance from the home point, say 10 meters. Is the craft then holding there give or take a meter? how much weight it can lift
The F450 can have a max takeoff weight of 1.7Kg, so after adding battery this will normally leave about 500g's for a payload like a camera/gimbal.
