Why r u c/o brake dust? You can put whatever pads you want onto the car. I don't understand why some people complain about things that are so trivial or easy to customize/fix.
It’s not a bug, it’s a feature! The reason for the brake dust is because it’s a metallic pad. Those pads are quieter, last longer than ceramic in normal driving conditions, and better in wet conditions. Sooo yeah. It’s an intentional decision on Subarus behalf. BMW uses the same kind of pad. If the brake dust bothers you, you can change it to ceramic pads.
It’s the rotors the little holes cause the the pads to wear like that and cause the brake dust. Slotted rotors are the way to go if you want to reduce the brake dust…give it try
@@VelosterRally16_UV this guy is giving you incorrect info. Slotted rotors are designed to keep the pads from glazing by shaving layers of pad off from overheating. Inwhich cause more brake dust than normal. Crossed drilled rotors are for more air flow which increases cooling. The dust is coming from the soft performance pads.
Had a brand new stock 16 Hikari STI. At 106k I started getting a misfire in cylinder 2 after taking it into the shop here’s what they found… ”Cylinder 2 has 34% leakdown past the piston rings. There is mild leakage past the exhaust valves that will need to be investigated at the machine shop to determine if there are further damage to the heads. We checked cylinder 4 next door for comparative data and there is only 6% leakdown on that cylinder which is healthy. There is active misfire on cylinder 2 from the compression loss as seen in the scanning equipment. At this point, the short block will need to be replaced and heads will need to be assessed when off” Decided to take it back to the dealership and after a long battle they honored the repairs under a good will warranty being that all my services were done at the dealership from day 1, car was stock and that I was only 6k over my 100k warranty. Fast forward to 134k and a year later… driving on the highway and I had a complete engine failure. Lost my power, steering and electronics. Had to coast it over to a safe spot. Once I was able to get it turned back on, I noticed the dreaded engine knock sound. Once again my car was still stock… took it into the dealership and turns out they recalled my engine so subaru covered the cost of reman long block. I would never buy another STI again. deciding between getting a 21 sti, or waiting for the 22 golf r. coming from 21 outback xt but i got tboned and the car is totaled. so now its time to get something fun
I would definitely wait for the 22 R to come out and see what its all about if you really are considering between the two. The STI is an amazing and fun car but the last thing you want is to get it and once the R is out and you see it to start doubting your decision because then you wont even enjoy the STI anymore 🤷🏻♂️

My son got problems with 2020 sti and squeaky noise ,scratching discs we taking 6 times to the dealer and they never fix the problem we turned in because of that.
I thought this video was a mechanical failure or something serious. Dusty wheels from performance [Brembo] brakes comes with the territory of owning an STI.
dusty brakes are a common thing any way; maybe a bit less these days, but if you look at cars that don't get cleaned, there is always brake dust on the wheels and calipers; they are brakes, a friction material against a friction surface to expend your kinetic energy into heat to help you stop. The shit is going to shed some material over time, there is absolutely no way around it.
Brake dust. Must be your first time with performance brakes. My GT350 had a lot and my Sti is no different. Also the fire department does not change the light and neither do cops. Lmaoo

If ive been driving hard i do let it cool down a second before i turn it off also helps the turbo chill but for regular driving nah
