- Very occasionally, both players will lose their final stock at the exact same time. This results in a one stock sudden death. In this situation nobody usually knows what to do which results in chaos.
In tournaments, the rule is that both players have to replay the final stock. Whoever wins takes the full game.

That first tie would have pissed me off cause the falco pretty much won with spiking fox, but he had bad luck and died at the same time, and then had a rematch and lost. Super unfair :/

There is the rule where if it does go to a sudden death, the person with the lower percent wins and they dont play the sudden death. This is instituted at most majors, but what happens if they go sudden death at the same percent
Under normal circumstances, if you die at the same time in Sudden Death, you get another Sudden Death. In competitive melee, Sudden Death is never played though. If timer runs out and both players have equal life, the winner goes to the one with lowest %. If both die at same time, one stock replay with a 3m timer.

Player 1 will always win if they both die on the same frame,
If player one doesn't exist, player 2 will win,
then player 3.
