There were alot of videos "inspired" by Melee is Broken, but this one is my favorite. Getting highlights about the different mechanics were super unique. Love it, keep it up man.

Did the "inspired" videos clearly Rip off your videos style and formatting or do you claim all videos with a montage of glitches for melee are ripping you off?
Clear rip off, there's one where it was exact joke and phrases and formatting. Even with nearly the same the title (don't really want to say what it is because fuk drama). Montages with melee glitches is fine by me, I don't include those at all. Just those exact copy cats annoy me.

thesatanic6 it's a glitch that let's the ice climbers freeze someone in place. And if you look at it you'll see that it happens when one ice climber is involved in a grab while the other does a side b, but it leaves a hitbox on the other player that hurts anyone that wasn't involved in the grab.

13:11 I did the .25 speed and pressed K to pause as quick as I could; that fox was grabbed and therefore a wobble was initiated WITHIN .30 seconds, possibly even within .20 seconds. This might _technically_ be the fastest kill you can accomplish under tournament rules

A Sonic 06 speedrun is less glitchy than the average Melee Tournament: Change My Mind.
I bet in terms of number of glitches sonic 06 is way worse than melee. Dunno for sure tho.

I mean, considering in a speed run the players have control over the glitches and can use and avoid them at will, while in Smash it's basically RNG because two people are fighting over control...

Just so you know I'm not hating on melee. I love melee, but just wanted to point that out.
I laughed at how true this is tho, 90% of the techskill are just glitches: wavedashing, dashdancing, l-cancelling, stickywalking, waveshining, short-hop double Lazer, short-hop double fair, hell... even chain-grabbing are ALL technically glitches. You were never meant to ACTUALLY do these things IN GAME but the way it's programmed, it allows you to. Doesn't mean it doesn't take skill tho, I still love competitive melee

Pretty sure he refered to the stage version in Brawl, even tho you can glitch throught the floor there too tho not to nearly the same extent as the stage in melee.

Honestly I'm fine with the principle of phantoms. Glancing blows that do half % and no knockback. If you misspaced your move slightly, that's on you. I'm not find with them having the same sound effect as a regular hit.
the problem is, that the hitbox actually touches the hurtbox, maybe if barely missed should be like that
it doesn't matter that the two were actually touching the result would be the same as if either hitbox or hurtbox were 1 pixel smaller. Since we don't see the actual sizes of the hitbox and hurtbox and where they connect, the only applicable answer is that you simply miss-spaced

I like these videos because of all the people who act like Melee is perfect and none of the other games matter. Pretty sure phantom hits weren't intended along with a lot of stuff.

+Jared Smith Phantom Hits are waaaaay too specific to not be an intended feature; they're clearly meant to be a compensation for extreme near-misses ( by still inflicting a portion of the percent on the target ) that end up giving the exact opposite feeling because they mostly just end up showing that you were a _single pixel off_ on what was probably a kill move and shove that fact in your face.
Also, you're an egotistical douche who's almost certainly a fantastic example of the Dunning-Kruger effect.
Phantom hits, unlike wavedashing, were intentional, yet just like L-canceling the fact that it was intentional shows poor judgement on the part of the game design team.

I don’t really shit on the other games, but the weird quirks that melee has is part of why it’s so special to me. It’s perfect to me in a sense because of how jank it is. I think that’s what this video was trying to get at.
WHY IS WOBBLING STILL LEGAL
It was banned for 6 years, then Evo unbanned it (cause lol evo) and noone thought to ban it again since, even with wobling, ice climbers can't put a dent on top players consistently!
The explanation is as simple as that, most people would probably want it banned, but ice climber players would probably get mad if that happend IAMO XD

Take the Loyola-Chicago Ramblers in the NCAA basketball Tourney this year.
They were ranked 44th in the tournament and lasted to the final four teams. They came from a knock-off Conference with out any major teams.

Phantoms aren't broken. They happen when you almost don't hit the enemy. It's just bad design that they have no special sound or visual effect, so they look like a bug to people who don't know about them.
But Pokemon stadium and many low tier characters definitely need a fix.
And it's fine that you can endless combo people when it's a 2 vs 1. You have no chance most of the time anyway.
Guess we have to deal with it. I guess it could be fixed by the community if everyone agreed to play on dolphin or something. I don't think it can all be done with a memory card hack. And even that would suck, since it is debatable wheather to leave certain bugs in or not, and it is very hard for every tournament and everyone practicing to use the same mods.
If nintendo would just release a Melee HD version. With fixes and a graphical overhaul, but with the same gameplay. They could have done it as a bonus in their newest game.
I would buy it at 60 dollars no complaints if they released a remastered version like they did with Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire.

Nobody's trying to make the argument that Melee is more competitive because the entire roster is balanced. It is extremely clear that it isn't. But having a larger, balanced roster roster gives you more options on how to play, not give it a higher skill ceiling. Ultimate is more balanced but it's a much slower game with less precise control on what your character is doing. Melee may only have 8-10 characters that are even viable, but the top level play of those characters' matchups is fucking insane.

The bass boosting around 4:20 was great.
The only problem is that Y-canceling (the invisible ceiling glitch) isn't really a glitch. Sure, it wasn't intended by the developers, but it is consistent and predictable. Although it is not telegraphed great, wavedashing is in the exact same situation and no one has a problem with that. There is a really good video out there explaining exactly how it works in the Big House 5 match.
Being consistent and replicatable doesn't make it not a glitch. A glitch is an error in the program itself. There is no situation where all vertical knockback *should* be removed from a hit.
Wavedashing is an exploit: the unintended consequence of interaction between two parts of the code without error. It is intended for you to retain horizontal momentum when landing and airdodging can give you horizontal momentum. Unless there is an extra limitation programmed in, wavedashing is merely a logical conclusion.
Being consistent and predictable doesn't make something no longer a glitch. As long as it is an error in the code, it is a glitch.
You can glitch your way into beating ocarina of time in less than 20 minutes. Most if not all of those glitches are consistent and (theoretically, if not necessarily easily)replicable. Are you gonna tell me that opening a door in the great Deku tree and ending up in Ganon's tower isn't a glitch?
Personally I would play ice climbers but not wobble. I feel like I would be respected.

The fact that this hot mess is considered the pinnacle of competitive smash is crazy. Melee was a fun game. I had lots of fun playing with my friends and cousins. But i dont get it.

The depth of the game is what makes it great, I personally would rather play a faster, more rewarding game than a slow dumbed down version that takes the depth away. It's not perfect but it's a lot of fun seeing yourself improve. I feel like other games in the series dont have that
you can string together meaningful combos, way more fast paced (notice 5 stocks instead of 2), and the difference between casual and tournament players is mind blowing

0:00 Ice Climbers' freeze glitch is actually banned in tournament because it's way easier to kill than wobbling
TheyCallMeFilep I thought it was banned because, if you have the percent lead, you can freeze them and leave them there until time runs out. Same reason infinites like wobbling are illegal past 300%
it is both the freeze glitch is incredibly easier to pull off as well as it being hard to enforce any stall rule on the glitch.
Also pokefloats is banned and it was a stamina battle so I’m fairly sure that was just a friendly

Like really? Falling through a LEGAL stage, an infinite just from being grabbed that is tournament LEGAL.
This is why I don't play Melee.
Not really sure who says that... Melee's pretty infamous for being very unbalanced.
In any case the wobble is still pretty balanced, many top tiers can pretty reliably kill from a single grab at like 40-50%, plus they are better characters than icies in general and can't lose it like icies can with Nana.
It says something that wobbling only moves icies from about 11th on the tier list to 7th-8th
Is it unfun? Sure, but that's not a reason for it to be banned.

Melee will never be a balance game. Glitches and bugs is one of the reason why people love it. It helps them to win sets and tournaments. Not only Fox is the best character in the game, but he is the best broken character in the game. No one main other characters in the roster but Fox.
Blazen Powers Fox isnt broken (In a balancing aspect), HBox and Armada are winning like 70% of major tournies with Puff and Peach. Hes probably the most balanced top tier right next to 64 Pikachu.
YoshiGator Fox will always be broken. He was never balanced in any Smash game and never will. Who cares about Peach and Puff when everyone plays and main Fox.

Brawl's meta was centered around Meta Knight. Literally the tier list was determined based on their matchup. Meta Knight's tier gap is fucking huge. He had no weaknesses.
Fox and Icies have weaknesses. Fox can get comboed easily. Fox can't zone. Fox is a light fast faller.
Ices need nana and popo. Their recovery can be gimped. They have no zoning pressure outside of the wobble. They get dicked on by Puff.
