With so many OTT platforms, it’s unfortunate that such movies will invariably underperform in theaters and be available to stream in less than a month.
12th fail didn't seem like a movie about fighting against the system, It seemed more like getting into the system 😕

At this frame 3:35 , this was before the year 2014 , that means Telangana state was not formed , i.e. undivided Andhra Pradesh (so you know how the map on the wall should be like) .

I still am gutted why I didn't go and see 12th Fail and Laapata Ladies in the theatre but here I am not going for this movie too.. What's wrong with us people??
12th fail theatre experience was very different from OTT because of "soundscape" they used. like in Oppenheimer they change sounds based on camera perspective. it was too intriguing and involving. few jump scares made my heart skip too. mai karluga, sab sahi to hai. pure emotions. it made me question all my privilege.
the ott versions don't have that score thing (same for animal).
now most decisions (movie ticket purchases) are dictated by what everyone is talking about. Driven not by individual choice but what the community is doing. If you're not a regular movie goer: you only want to be an active part of what's trending. if Nothing is, then why bother: Just my analysis based on what I see.

@@user-hp1yj4pm2t just because of what Ranbir said a while ago.. going to a theatre seems like a trouble now..OTT has made movie watching a lot easier. I only want to go for movies that I think are of that scale that it won't be justified on TV..
Having said that, I went to watch Challengers last week.. Couldn't resist not watching my Zendeya 😂

I don’t think he is underrated. Maybe unrated in terms of financial box office status but not as an actor. I think good directors will cast them. We audiences make them financially unrated.
There are many, we have sparsh from lapata ladies, adarsh gaurav from white tiger, Vishal jethwa from mardaani 2, pratik gandhi from scam 1992, sunny hinduja from aspirants, if u talk abt already established actors in Bollywood then Vijay verma, Vicky kaushal and Ayushman khurana.
Ayushmann Khurrana and Rajkumar Rao are the modern day Amol Palekar and Farooq Sheikh. Both have become the masters of realistic, slice of life, and sometimes arthouse cinema!
Ayushman is still behind rajkumar in terms of acting tbh ...more like a average -above average actor.
Just my opinion: Raj is a far superior actor tho. Has way more range

The South Indian trope I feel has brought down the quality of movies
This highlight reel structure is one of the biggest problems biopics suffer from. It creates a emotional disconnect with the audience!! Condensing someone's life into 2 hrs is undoubtedly challenging, hence, it is necessary to assess the priorities the film wants to put more focus on- the achievements of the individual or the person
100%: Its one of the biggest stumbling blocks of this film. You really wish and hope they invest more into the core emotions and the inter personal relationships he shared. It was in a constant rush!
Personally, I still wish the day when a movie, especially a biopic, about a differently-abled person to be played by a differently-abled actor. I understand the commercial viability of casting a popular face, and if they are to cast a supremely dedicated and talented actor like Rajkumar, then atleast they selected the best in that parameter. But I wish this slowly changes down the years, and seeing differently-abled kids casted in the movies for smaller roles, bring hope that it's a step towards a better direction maybe.
When you do have a talent like Raj shouldn’t the maker and the actor go all out and make aspiring biopic. This highlight reel approach will impact the success of this movie
100% : it's one of the biggest stumbling blocks of the film. I wonder why they did not actively choose to shed light on more of the emotional beats of the film. You have an actor like Raj, he would have fully submitted to it too.

I would highly disagree with some of your points related to rushed / hurried treatment of the film, Jammy. I for one, was almost constantly weeping and was overwhelmed by the emotional scenes on display. Since the beginning till the very end, it was an emotional rollercoaster. Very wholesome movie watching experience
He is a selfmade and true acting talent. A rarity amidst mainstream Hindi Cinema. His range is exemplary.
This year so far we have seen some great acting performances across languages.
I respect so many directors by taking that liberty of increasing the length of the movie, but make it more investing story. That first 15-30 minutes, one needs to let person get invested in the world of story. So many Hollywood movies even with super heroes and aliens ; and in India esp. Rajamauli are master of this kind of craft. Even think about KGF 1, pushpa, and Kantara; you can know that they let you go through the story world in first 30 minutes.
Came to know about Srikanth on some Telugu news channel , was very inspiring hats of the man . 👏👏👏

honest opinion i couldn't even sit through the trailer of this movie ,the whole vibe felt too pretentious and generic for me . Movie maker should understand making a documentary movie on a inspiring people is just not enough your movie itself has to push the boundaries like the characters you are showing in your movie it has to be more than just a documentary. i think this where films like Oppenheimer , dangal and the beautiful mind comes in mind . You have to do better a lot better to make people buy tickets in the theatre

Ya the fairy tale like structure was definitely an issue in the way it presented him with superhero qualities in the basketball scenes and also cricket but still a lot to like. Rajkumar Rao simply disappeared into the role. The grey shades of Srikanth his insecurity and a certain towards Sharad Kelkar's Ravi was refreshing to watch

Please let me know whether am I right or wrong. Any movie/Tv shows is based on 3 points or say types
1. Base concept : eg : Cid, tmkoc , adalat, crime patrol ; where only a concept is there, no main story exists.
2. Base plot : Setup only starting point, story & way of storytelling etc; eg : universe & francise and even unknowingly every superhero projects.
3. Base border : setup end point ( villain, time gap, justice, narration etc) eg : typical movies
Simply I want to make a house is the concept, land I have is the border and structure & design of the house is the plot. And if all are combined perfectly outcome is a best project no matter the popularity & other masala things like vfx, action. (Atleast for me)

I don't why he name it base concept 🤣 but he named it. Base concept are stories that doesn't need a origin story and a real ending it just expands in that way. Base plot again I don't why he named it plot which gives it a completely different meaning 😄 is where there is a origin story but no real ending so the story keeps going and the magical base border 🤣🤣🤣🤣(innovation at max lv) where there is origin and there is ending so the story ends. They way you review in English language is amazing. At last u should have given the overall rating of the film. But to be honest, let’s hope he wins the Filmfare award for his best performance. We need to do the belt treatment for the audience so that they’ll realise how outsiders are getting appreciation like Manoj bajpayee, Rajkumar Rao , Ayushmann Khurana
The underwhelming aspects are stopping me to watch this in theatre..i would have liked if this movie was a bit long so that proper justice to the biopic could have been done

I believe Rajkumar Rao is one of the actors who can do both commercial and artistic movies. Some others are SRK (Swades and Jawaan), Ayushmann Khurrana (Article 15 and Dream Girl), Akshay Kumar (Airlift and Good News) and HR (Super 30 and War)

Why you don't give stars to the movies like other reviewers
Have we as an audience lost taste or the industry has not having any talent in it .Type cast composers like Anirudh for Bgm,Vishal Mishra for love songs,HR for Salman Khan's comeback movies, Pritam to copy ,meet Bros for only Hook Line songs
