Two reasons why he wouldn’t kill the losers: 1. The losers have the shining, therefore there are significantly harder to “kill” (the clown just deposits them in the macroverse) as their souls are stronger. 2. Plot Armor
Morgan Steele my thoughts were something along the lines of this: Pennywise was doing this to make them lose hope in defeating it, trying to drain them of their hopes, making it seem impossible. In doing so, he evokes further flashbacks (which add onto the hopelessness and fear of the adults). However, he misjudged that they would have the courage to still fight him anyways. His goal was to make them give up on killing him, to consume their hope, then their fear, then their flesh. It still is a problem, but that’s what I feel a good explanation would be.
I feel like the whole Bev/Ben thing was pretty straight forward. The kids forgot their childhood, and Ben confessing to Bev is part of that forgotten childhood.
He must not have read the book or he would have known that Ritchie wore contacts...And rea!ly how unusual would it be that as adults that some people may need to wear glasses when they didn't need them as kids?? So the characters wearing glasses and Ritchie not is a silly point to make IMO
Well its okay but in live action when you want to make the young characters look more like the adults thats when character design comes in. They can remove the glasses if its animated cause the face and body is the same but in live action you cant really find a perfect match so yeah people need something to identify the character easily
Do guys know the mini series was supposed to be 10 hours but had to be cut down to 3, and had 3 months to make it,but it chapter 1 and 2 got like a year to make. so we should really give the mini series some credit. Btw read the book before you make a video of this
I want to read the book before judging it but like it's more than 1000 pages and i'm not that good at english And i think the reason why many people maybe haven't read the book is because books take so much longer to read and it's not all people that enjoy reading I actually enjoy reading but i already started reading an english book series and i dont wanna start on a new book in the middle of that Btw if you havent find out yet Im not english😂
I’ve never clicked a video so fast! I love the 2 new IT movies. Especially the first one, I just love how realistic the kids act towards each other. I could actually see them being real kids and real friends. Again, awesome video!!!
Why people always complain about the IT movies being "too long"? I enjoyed the 3 hours of Lord of the Rings' and the almost 3 hours of Harry Potter's. And Star Wars. Some of us have zero problems with the length of a movie if is good enough. 🙌
Because if the movie is long for the sake of being long, it can feel padded, boring, and lazy because it feels like they have little to no ideas. Also, it can get unfocused because the movie can be spending too much time on one thing and not enough on the other. That said, I do agree that if the movie is great and the idea(s) are deserving of more time to flesh it out, then go for the 3hr mark. I saw Avengers: Endgame, my 2nd MCU movie, and it was so great and the 3hrs + went by so quickly, it didn't feel long.
I think it's because i feel like some of the things seemed unnecessary and sometimes boring But yeah saying the movie is too long is not the right thing to say
Fun fact: the actress who plays eddie’s wife in it chapter 2 played his mom in it chapter one, and this is especially cool because there’s a plot line in the book where Eddie is thinking about the fact that he married a woman so much like his mother
Well Henry doesn't have an excuse in the miniseries and is the most evil there, the book and film he was pitied by even enemies and the film he's plot irrelevant
Probably should’ve waited until you could use footage from the actual movie instead of trailer footage. Also I would’ve liked some mention of the Richie storyline.
The reason why the flashbacks don’t fit well with Chapter 2 is that those flashbacks are actually meant to be everything in the first movie - they split the two and obviously didn’t have a plan for what to do in Chapter 2 (which they then made a extra long film)
After Chapter 2 came out, i was on an IT binge and found your first video on the first movie. I was wondering earlier today, weeks after watching the first video, if you were still planning to produce this video. And low and behold, just as I got onto youtube today, I see this in my recommended uploaded just an hour ago. Great video again my dude, subbed.
Okay, admittedly the scene with the mummy in the house was kinda goofy in the IT miniseries, but it was actually alot better in the book. You see, Stan used the bird names/his bird book as a coping mechanism to mask his fear, and since IT looses power when their victims aren't afraid, that's why he was able to escape. Not to mention, the scene took place in a dark standpipe filled with undead zombie kids and creepy circus music rather than a weird house.
Personally I loved IT Chapter 2 along with Detective Pikachu I think it’s the most underrated movie of the year Bill Hader stole the show great video Eric I cant wait for the Spider-Man videos
Great review, it surprised me you didn't mention Richie's emotional arc with Eddie though. His were probably the only flashbacks that actually gave us new, relevant information and added something major to his story. For me personally, that storyline was the emotional heart of the second movie.
The reason he keeps scaring them is bc he is scared of them and wants them to get out of Darry so he has a better chance to beat them the reason he doesn’t eat them is bc if they’re scared they’re easier to beat in the final battle
In IT chapter 2 they explained that when they left the town they slowly lost memory of everything that happened as children, so it explains bev forgetting the writer of the poem And a possible explanation of why pennywise keeps playing with the losers in It C2 is that IT wants revenge and stuff and wants to make them suffer or he could be “playing with food”
GageTDC2019 that and he could also be trying to diminish their hopes against him, and make them feel powerless. Although I still feel he could and should have easily gone for the kill in multiple scenes.
About Beverly: It can be really hard to get out of abusive relationships and since the form of love she could remember receiving in her childhood was from an abusive person (her father, since she forgot the whole it incident) it only makes sense, that that cycle repeats itself again and again in her life.
Beverly ending up with an abusive husband is more expanded that she had a number of abusive partners. Her husband had a mother who used a belt on him and in turn uses it on Beverly. It’s that residual trauma coming from an abusive parent. The inability of having a healthy relationship follows you well throughout your life it’s something you have to constantly work through
Eric Carter, they didn't forget. Beverly thinks Billy wrote the poem because of the magic haze that is Derry. The further away, the hazier it all gets. She forgot about the scene in Chapter One and so that is the reason.
i have a theory maybe pennywise didnt kill the adult losers because even being the entity he is he may have somehow enjoyed fighting them or grown emotionally attatched
Lelow a second theory is he doesn’t want to kill them because they are famous and it would scare everyone out of the town, and he wouldn’t have any prey.
I just got out of school and saw your vid AND FREAKED OUT BECAUSE IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FOR SOOOO LONG!!! These are 2 of my favorite movies and your first it video was the first ever Eric carter video I ever watched. So happy for how far you’re come!
I really loved the scene in the old house where Stanley meets the mummy. It's the single scariest scene in the miniseries, and I still feel true dread whenever I watch it. We don't often think of mummies as scary when we compare them to other monsters, but the one in the miniseries is DEFINITELY scary. Plus, the pompons on the mummy's wrappings only accentuate the horror while making clear to us that the mummy is really Pennywise. If Tim Curry had really cut down on his goofs, he could have been a great Pennywise while still being fun.
I agree with everything you said for It Chapter 2. It was very fun, the scares were good, the characters were good, but it definitely had some problems and was not as good as the first film. Great job Eric!
In my theory Pennywise in the second movie was weaker and more playing mind games to the adults because adults are harder to kill and he might be still a little scared of them
Great video, I realy enjoyed watching it and i think you are doing an amazing job with how well you retaliate your points keep it up! By the way here is an idea how about the counjuring vs the babadook?
I don't believe the writers forgot that Ben revealed he wrote Bev's poem in chapter one, but becase it was 27 years later and she had already forgotten everything from her time in Derry, it seems realistic that her childhood crush and first kiss Bill would be her main suspect as to who wrote the poem.
This was great. Thanx for all your hard work. I'm glad you actual gave chapter 2 a fair review. People just hating on chapter 2 for the sake of it is just annoying. Yes chapter 2 wasn't scary but I still think it's a great movie
At 7:53 the adults memories a faded and they really can’t remember somethings or even anything from when they were kids because on d you get out of Derry you can’t remember because IT controls the adults in Derry and feeds on kids so he needed to get the adults out of the way. Beverly’s memory is probably blurry so she can’t remember that it was Ben who wrote not Bill and also she liked Bill so she always assumed that he wrote it.
The mini series might seem like a joke or not scary now a days but watching it as a kid in the 90s and early “00s it was scary as hell. I was scared to take a shower for a solid month
The reason he doesn’t just kill them straight away is that he doesn’t want to be drawn into a fight with them - he wants to scare them away instead (or before that, incentivise them to not return to Derry). There is a major element in the book that is removed from both versions - and that’s the other cosmic force that is guiding the kids and is the enemy of It.
PANTELIS KARTALIS yep that’s the one, Maturin. The director was quite vocal during production of how he was going to be included, not sure what happened. So far all we’ve had are a few turtle references in the first film. I wonder if that’s why they changed the rules of the ritual and also made it some tropey American Indian drug revelation instead (which was cringe TBH)
@PANTELIS KARTALIS Yes in the book, the kids defeating pennywise makes sense cause they are being given power by Maturin. Without Maturin they would just be another bunch of missing kids posters.
IT Chapter 2 Was really good in my opinion. Who agrees??? Also, 5:30. Richie probably got Laser Eye surgery. (But then again, the time period might before Laser Eye Surgery existed)
When I watched chapter 2, I asked myself why Pennywise was toying with them as well. Then I remembered Pennywise saying, "fear" at the end of chapter 1. I felt as if the direction they were taking him was that yes he wants to season them, but also I feel that they were trying to show us that Pennywise is also scared of the Losers. As they were the only people to make him starve before going into hibernation.
I think the reason pennywise didn't eat them straight away is because since he got the crap beaten out of himself in first movie he'd be scared of them especially since he'd know they can do way more stuff to him as adults than they were kids so him scaring them to make scared of him so he could be more powerful than he was as a kid
I would agree that the fighting scene for IT chapter two was a little disappointing. I like the fighting scene in IT chapter one more because it seems more action-packed. Also, I like the spider in IT chapter two than in the IT miniseries. I absolutely love Bill Skarsgard's performance for Pennywise. Go Bill Skarsgard!
When you ask why he didn’t just kill them if they were scared, remember, they surprised, hurt him in the first movie. Before them he never knew that he could fear something or be overpowered. He’s tormenting them, torturing them 27 years later. In the first movie he was doing it for food. In the second, for personal vengeance. That’s why he waited
The main thing I wish had been left in the Mini-Series had that Chapter 2 left out was Henry's escape from the asylum and the dog fear of the guard. It was in the book and I loved it in 90s.
12:20 I disagree, Georgie wasn't acting stupid in the first movie, if anything he was fully aware of how creepy Pennywise was, and only stayed around because he wanted his boat back.

I know. It's also the same music that came on when Richie saw Pennywise's deadlights. :)
Eric Carter what would u rate IT chapter two 1-10
“All living things must abide by the laws of the shape they inhabit” thats why pennywise cant kill the adults as easily as you make it seem.
I just noticed pennywise doesn’t have eyebrows
I had a teacher that didnt have eyebrows Coincidence?
Great video, I realy enjoyed watching it and i think you are doing an amazing job with how well you retaliate your points keep it up!
By the way here is an idea how about the counjuring vs the babadook?
The beginning of it chapter two with Adrian mellons death was one of the most disturbing images I have ever seen in a movie theater
I got to argue that Viki probably had residual fear.
She was still having a feeling of unease and you can tell by her body language
I don't believe the writers forgot that Ben revealed he wrote Bev's poem in chapter one, but becase it was 27 years later and she had already forgotten everything from her time in Derry, it seems realistic that her childhood crush and first kiss Bill would be her main suspect as to who wrote the poem.
This was great. Thanx for all your hard work. I'm glad you actual gave chapter 2 a fair review. People just hating on chapter 2 for the sake of it is just annoying. Yes chapter 2 wasn't scary but I still think it's a great movie
Thanks buddy. :)
Now that's a hot take. Smart people being trapped in an abusive relationship feels weird? Welcome to reality.
OK when’s your series of unfortunate events season 3 video in Ghostbusters versus Ghostbusters 2016 video
I love this channel!!!
Noone
Pennywise: You got Prince Albert in a can?
The mini series might seem like a joke or not scary now a days but watching it as a kid in the 90s and early “00s it was scary as hell. I was scared to take a shower for a solid month
This man really started playing blood oath music, I started crying
Also in defense of Bev not remembering Ben wrote the poem: she forgot almost everything so it helps them set that whole concept up
The reason he doesn’t just kill them straight away is that he doesn’t want to be drawn into a fight with them - he wants to scare them away instead (or before that, incentivise them to not return to Derry).
Why did he kill eddie right away and not the other ones?
@@j4rnusky By that time they had some of Maturins power but because Maturin is dead their power is diminishing
@@raymondlaspina7870 I'm planning on reading the book but I guess maturin is the turtle? And he died?
IT Chapter 2 Was really good in my opinion.
Who agrees???
Also, 5:30. Richie probably got Laser Eye surgery.
(But then again, the time period might before Laser Eye Surgery existed)
The Ashman I agree
When I watched chapter 2, I asked myself why Pennywise was toying with them as well. Then I remembered Pennywise saying, "fear" at the end of chapter 1. I felt as if the direction they were taking him was that yes he wants to season them, but also I feel that they were trying to show us that Pennywise is also scared of the Losers. As they were the only people to make him starve before going into hibernation.
in it chapter 2 they basically bullied pennywise until they won
Meanwhile, in the miniseries, they beat him down and rip his fucking heart out
Charlie Clark i mean they kinda did the same in chapter 2 they bullied him and when he was weak enough the ripped his heart out and squished it
I’ve been waiting so long for this
10:55 when someone tells me a joke that isn’t funny
Lol
Penny wishes for head is so big that it’s literally the entire poster.
Eric I saw IT: Chapter Two on Sunday and I really liked it 8/10 also IT: Chapter Two was the 1st R rated film I saw in theaters so yeah that’s a plus
Destin Nicolas-Paul awesome
Destin Nicolas-Paul ur welcome
Destin Nicolas-Paul XD
It chapter 2 was the first movie I saw twice in theaters
Xcell 2187 awesome
For a month I've dreamed of you I craved you I missed you demolished the like button
Would you like Bill skarsgard to play the joker at one point Eric?
I would
May his soul rest in peace, Jonathan Brandis 🥺💔
Which is better the evil dead👻 or the Evil Dead remake👹
When you ask why he didn’t just kill them if they were scared, remember, they surprised, hurt him in the first movie. Before them he never knew that he could fear something or be overpowered. He’s tormenting them, torturing them 27 years later. In the first movie he was doing it for food. In the second, for personal vengeance. That’s why he waited
Have u released “far from home vs Spider-Man 2 vs TASM 2” yet?
No dumby check his channel out and all the videos it's not out It will come out in 2021
It will come out in about a week. It's a HUMONGOUS project. So it took me a long time to put together.
The main thing I wish had been left in the Mini-Series had that Chapter 2 left out was Henry's escape from the asylum and the dog fear of the guard.
It was in the book and I loved it in 90s.
I like the story about the kids in chapter one a lot more.
12:20 I disagree, Georgie wasn't acting stupid in the first movie, if anything he was fully aware of how creepy Pennywise was, and only stayed around because he wanted his boat back.
Awesome 👍, I didn't love it chapter two but I did like it
Your movie also sucked. Jk
7:46 I thought this only had the adults
Who else cried there eyes out when Eddie died😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
7:59 uuuuuh and you forgot that the adults can’t really remember everything that happened to them as kids.
