I love Vaho's videos, and I wish he did more of them. He has inspired me to think outside of the box when putting together camera rigs for unusual shooting scenarios. I bought this DigitalFoto Power Supply Baseplate based on his recommendation and I was very disappointed in the product. I own a DJI RS3 Pro that I bought in 2022. When you mount the gimbal on the DigitalFoto base and lock the lever, there is a thin visible gap between the gimbal bottom and the baseplate top and it wobbles a bit when you move the gimbal. Not snug, even when you screw in the tie-down bracket. It would be risky to use on a real film shoot. I already had the Tilta power base that came with my Tilta Float, and the SmallRig base too, both of which fit perfectly. The only reason I bought this was because the support bracket has a NATO rail built in and it has a D-Tap port, AND because this guy said it fit better than all the other brands. Maybe he has a newer RS3 and DJI slightly changed the size of the internal locking mechanism on the nipple. I don't know, but be warned, it may not fit your gimbal. Not worth the risk.
Hey brother I am wandering if you purchased DigitalFoto power base for RS2 old version. I have two of them and I purchased them the second DIGITAL FOTO started producing them. I am curious if you happen to buy an old version or maybe got a bad product. Please contact DigitalFoto on Facebook! They will replace! Message me on FB bro as well let's get this thing fixed.
@@camerariggingmods9667 Sounds good, amigo. Thanks for the fast reply. I'll be using your DIY dual handle rig and possibly the Creator Scorpion rig on an upcoming feature. Still fine-tuning them to see if they're reliable for a fast-paced shoot.
Love your videos dude. Is there Any way to have the best of all the power base plates features? Does the DigitalFoto safety piece from this base fit the Smallrig power base? Losing the Smallrig’s added dual NATO nubs is a loss for dual handle users.
Ya stock battery sucks... I seen this cool rig where the guys had v-mount with belt bracket. So you can add fat ass batt on your belt and this power adapter comes with long cable, so you can rig your Gimbal how ever you want and have the battery weight on your belt! And if you go dual handle, Tilta got sweet solution for it. With handles amzn.to/3Q3NsrV Without the handles amzn.to/3NW3hhT
Confirmed working with the RS3 pro just tried it.. it is solidly connected far as i can tell - and has passthrough power that i can use for lidar when on tripod or any accessories
Please stop promoting this useless device. It does NOT lock on an RS3 Pro and is a very expensive accident waiting to happen. Even DigitalFoto made a video addressing this by telling people to press the release button while installing but it still does not work.
@@camerariggingmods9667 ua-cam.com/video/KAuTYRgbtH4/v-deo.html . Even DigitaFoto knows this is a problem. There are multiple reviews stating how this does not fit the RS3 Pro snuggly. I purchased this because of your recommendation and I regret doing that.
Would you be willing to show a complete build or breakdown of your setup? Could you share with us your case scenarios in which you build it out the way you do? Possibly where a new user who may attempt to build a similar rig, may run into issues. For me, I'm trying to understand how to connect the 2 battery grips as you have shown on your rig. Thank you for sharing your progress of using a Steadicam, I hope to own a vest soon!❤
How well did this work with your Manfrotto mod? I'm finding the screw holes to be noticeably shallower than on the Tilta power base, and both the original Float NATO rail and the Manfrotto plate are loose with the screws included. I've ordered a new set of screws that might be shorter, but I'm also considering adding some washers between the plate and the power base.
@@camerariggingmods9667 Sadly, this new plate made zero difference. What's worse, the gimbal does not actually fit on top of the power base - it won't lock! I'm afraid this product has been a disaster so far.
There is a trick you can do to fix that. The problem isn't the power base it's actually your Gimbal. DJI changed something about their newest gimbals and the inner locking pin is slightly shorter. What you need to do is put your gimbal on the battery handle. Once the locking mechanism gets released gently take it off without unlocking the button all the way, then place it on a new power base, press it together and lock it. It will be very nice tight lock like you never seen before. After few uses it becomes better. And again it's not the power base it's actually the gimbal. Reason why I know this is because I had RS3 pro that locked perfectly on it. Then my gimbal broke and I send it for replacement. When they send me the new one I had exactly the same issue you mentioned above. So after inspecting the gimbal I noticed that the inner locking pin that prevents the gimbal from falling out of the battery when it's unlocked unless you press the button is slightly shorter, so when it goes and sits on a power base the little side rail on a power base doesn't quite reach the locking mechanism. There's also another way by wiggling the thing from the back to the front, but the trick with the battery was the easiest one, another way grab something long and sharp and push that pin on the gimbal until the locking mechanism gets released, then place it on top of the power base and slowly unlock the mechanism but not all the way until you feel it got latched, then lock it.
Seems DigitalFoto is still selling RS2 bases as RS3 bases. I got the "rs3/rs4" (even stickers from DF that say RS3) but the base itself on the latch on top says R2!
I just confirmed it works very very very good on RS2 !!!

Just ordered mine from B&H but it’s on back order. Can’t wait to get it 🙌🏾 because the dji LiDAR drains my RS 3 pro like bad bad

Sadly, mine couldn't lock in the rs3 or rs3 pro. It also didn't power it on.

I had to use washers to decrease the screw distance because I didn't have short screws.
But then I discovered this plate and it worked out perfect
