The screen size in Flagship preferred seems to stay the same size in normal business class , bed seems pretty comfortable, there isn't much you can do in economy but at least it looks a little brighter and the screen bigger. Premium economy seems to be a solid improvement. Hopefully they will retrofit this on all of their long haul fleet that they aren't planning on retiring.
This PE seat looks like a more comfortable version of the JAL shell. The JAL shell was actually not bad at all. I'm betting this is more comfortable due to it not being within the shell. If the cushioning is as comfortable as it looks, it should be more than sufficient for a 9ish hour ride. If the food is improved over the rest of the US carriers I would actually entertain flying with them internationally instead of looking exclusively at international carriers. I think maybe the only exception is Iberia and Avianca, but they're Iberia and Avianca.
One of the benefits of JAL in PE is that the legroom is just way too generous with 42 inches of pitch compared to 38 in American so I would prefer to fly JAL over American in premium economy especially in their new A350-1000s (man I need to fly on those big birds)

No they are not bringing it back. This is for A321XLR which is for transcontinental only. Very few of our A319 do still have IFE installed for some certain routes. We are NOT bringing it back throughout fleet.
@@jrjones604 thanks for clarifying that. But at least the 789 are getting them so it’s a pretty decent chance to catch them on international flights out of Miami at least.

I wonder if EWR-DFW will get A321-251xlr if it does UA will respond with their own A321-271 XLRs. Oddly enough Taiwanese AA crew will start to compare this to CX Aria Suites.
In terms of seat manufacturers, looks like PE’s using the Recaro CL4710 and Safran Z600 for the A321XLR and 789P respectively, while MC/MCE’s using Collins seats for both ✈️’s (Meridian and Aspire for the A321XLR and 789P respectively). Heard about the 789P’s debut being postponed due to delivery delays from Boeing. 1 thing to improve the 789P in the meantime is to increase the number of MCE seats to have a proper MCE section (MCE in just the bulkhead and exit rows doesn’t make it a proper extra legroom section). I saw the 789Ps LOPA on AeroLOPA and I have an idea that may work. If you move row 20’s seats forward 8-12” and the A-C and J-L seats in row 21 forward 4-6” (row 20 and the aforementioned row 21 seats are bulkhead seats) you may be able to add 4-6” more pitch for row 22 and seats 21D-H for a Main Cabin Extra mini cabin on the 789Ps while retaining its total seat count across all cabins (and also as a nod to MCE’s early days on the 767 and the 773s). It could also generate more seat revenue and make the 789P more premium without having to lower the seat count as you already charge a fee for MCE. I’m thinking minimum 35-36” pitch for seats 22A-C and J-L and possibly 37” for D-H seats in rows 21 and 22. Just make sure the bulkhead and exit rows still have at least 6” more pitch than the standard main cabin seats for this to work.
Lost me on the window to my back business class. Other business looks promising. Nice interiors. Hopefully, the attitudes, while at the altitudes, also get better.
As a European, seeing all that inside an A321 is absolutely awesome and insane. The only difference between Business and Economy seats here, are that theyre a few inches longer and the head cushion is different. 😂
@AmericanAirlines Congratulations on the hard product launch -- this looks good. Here is a suggestion, please: improve the web interface to permit mixed cabin bookings on the same reservation number. Currently if a family travels and wants to purchase 2 J seats and several Y seats, the person booking needs to make 2 separate reservations each of which gets assigned a unique reservation number. This situation becomes more complicated when the Y passengers are minors because the system flags the minors as "unaccompanied". On international flights, the "unaccompanied" status becomes particularly difficult. Thanks
FINALLY some interior character. These days, AA has such a plain, boring, neutral-corporate type design and when you combine that with a lack of IFE, it is very off-putting. I used to exclusively fly AA from 2010-2017 when they were renewing their fleet, and had the lowest average aircraft age. But then when they started getting rid of IFE, limiting charging ports, etc., I started to fly more with United and Delta. Interior character + IFE is where it's at. On long haul flights yes, but that’s been the case with american for long. The narrowbody interior shown here is the A321XLR which is meant for long haul flights.
So, a question? The PDF showing the offerings on new cabin layouts on 777 300er does not show a large section with these suites. Instead the divisions of cabins stay the same Flagship Business seems to remain as it is and the First Class cabin will be Flagship Suite®️ preferred. So is AA changing the name and maintaining a high fare as they do With Flagship premium currently and presumably removing the few upgrades to food service and flight attendant to passengers ratio?
Ok. Major improvement American!!! Thank you! Please continue to rise. So glad you have partnered with Qatar Airways. They are 100 percent on the mark, so to speak. Go their level of hospitality. Unfortunately there have been truly some bizarre interactions with flight attendants on American Airlines where almost as if they were …..well….lazy. Sorry to say.
Love the updated interiors. A missed opportunity is for the 787s to have a bar area. Aeromexico remains the only airline in the Americas that has a bar area onboard (787-9 variant).

@@Tuukkohakee and replacing A321T (transcontinental)
Any idea when we’ll see these products roll out?
ok now i’m really gonna want to fly on american airlines 😮💨😮💨
finally this is a acceptable airline!
Stunning!!!
I am obsessed
O that’s beautiful
Looks nice and I love having IFE's at every seat! Does anyone know when these will enter service?
You guys working on the 737 Max sardine class?
Wow, this looks great!
Would love to see the 777-300 with a new cabin ❤
I there a chance we see the XLR Interior in the Max 10 When that arrives in the fleet?
So, a question? The PDF showing the offerings on new cabin layouts on 777 300er does not show a large section with these suites. Instead the divisions of cabins stay the same Flagship Business seems to remain as it is and the First Class cabin will be Flagship Suite®️ preferred. So is AA changing the name and maintaining a high fare as they do With Flagship premium currently and presumably removing the few upgrades to food service and flight attendant to passengers ratio?
you should email them or send them a letter they are NOT responding in a youtube comment section
Will the windows be in place?
Really impressive...
Very well presented video, great job AA
When will you return to Edmonton?
We know 787 finna look fye
Congratulations to the rich people out there! That said, as long as American hires pilots based on Merit and not to fill a quota, count me in.
Love the updated interiors. A missed opportunity is for the 787s to have a bar area. Aeromexico remains the only airline in the Americas that has a bar area onboard (787-9 variant).
FAA doesn't allow those in US-bound flights
WOW will it be afordable
Love The Seats On The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner😍❤️💺✈️🇺🇸!!!
If you're upgraded
Let's make America Great Again....
In the renderings released nearly 2yrs ago, many bloggers pointed out to Flagship Suite and were wondering if AA was jumping on the bandwagon for offering a business + type suite, any many of them were right
