I had an 02 electron blue w/silver int. & grand sport stripes.red calipers,dark tint & clear roof & headlights.corsa extreme,w col air intake.Chrome wheels off an 11 grand sport.I love to see this build .car has such good bones.

I’d like to get my C6 Z06 tinted and have had a few local shops tell me the C6 rear glass never looks right . I might have to take a road trip to Black out Tinting 🇺🇸 Your C5 looks super clean, the work Black Out Tinting did looks great.

Very informative video. Only thing I didn’t like was that the front emblem was not removed when the Expel was installed. I understand that that was probably the way the pattern was cut but I would have had them do a custom piece on the nose. Congratulations on the new C5. What great shape for a car that old. Well done purchase.

Looks awesome, curious, they don’t paint correct before they install expel? For a 21 yo car it does look amazing, would not be my 1st choice of color, but it is growing on me, and it’s different, don’t see those every day. Great job by black out tint crew, they do incredible work.👍
You really don't need to paint correct before XPEL. They will do it if you want them to, but at the end of the day it's not needed and it will only add to your bill. The guys at Blackout really know their stuff!

Great looking car. Not sure if they did it or it but think about covering the side mirrors. They tend to get a rock once in a while.
Did not have them do the side view mirrors but I probably should have. I'll look at having it done in the future 👍👍
Ugh....@2:24.....every time I see the shifter knob with the square button, I can't help but think that Chevy used that exact same knob for 19 years.
It first appeared on the 1986 Camaro and Corvette and they continued to use it until the 2005 model year. 🤪

Now after the Xpel is done, you can take it to Inshane designs and be the first to have a Rapid Blue C5 coupe...and still have Bowling Green underneath...😎72° at the local Car show in Arizona, with 2...C8's there...it was a very nice day.

the Torch Red C8 at the show, was bought in New Hampshire, they said from the #2 Corvette in sales dealership, behind Kerbeck...and shipped to Az...go figure.
Man I think that C5 is cleaner than my car. Even before the polish and ceramic coating. The interior may be the most impressive though, barely a wrinkle in the leather!

It's looking better than "brand new" Justin! As to the rear-window tint, you don't see many "tinters" do a one piece install though. I had mine done in one piece, but I was warned about the possibility of having a wavy line due to the dots, which I do have. So Josh using a glue really got my attention. Wish I lived closer, I'd have mine re-done, although it's totally liveable for now. Save the Wave👋
Thanks, Peter! I'm always looking for perfection when it comes to my cars and Blackout Tinting is as close to it as you can get! They really know their stuff and he proved that to me when he tinted my C7 rear glass in a way that didn't leave any wavy marks on the Corvette flag dot matrix. I'll show you someday in person if you haven't seen it yet.
Yes, I'd love to see yours in person for sure. If there's a 2021 Corvettes at Carlisle, would Josh entertain being there? If so, I hope his attendance would include some installs. If so, I'd sign up for at least my rear hatch glass to be re-done and who knows what else in the way of xpel or ???
I just saw this reply, Peter! Blackout Tinting will be at Corvettes at Carlisle this year but they do XPEL installs in the XPEL tent. If you're interested in XPEL, they'll get it done for you!

Hey man I love the content! I myself am a Chevy guy I have a 1990 C4 Corvette, an 05 Colorado, and recently an 02 Corvette C5 as well. I live in PA Philly area and am definitely interested in taking a trip to Blackout Tinting for a similar treatment on my C5 which is my baby. If so what % tint are you running all the way around? Windows, hatch and windshield
20% all the way around! BlackOut Tinting does it best!

I just bought a clean 2003 Z06 this week, what does Black Out tinting charge for that job? I'm in Florida and it might be worth my while to make a road trip up there if the price is right.

i have rain drop stains on my window and scratches do you have any idea on what could be done to get rid of them ?
The hard water spots could possibly be dealt with but the scratches are really hard to get out of glass.
Question: Why would you put ceramic coating on top of the Expel plastic coating and not the other way around???
The ceramic coating protects the surface and makes it super slick (so things don't stick) meaning that the XPEL wouldn't stick to it if you put it on the paint first. When it goes on top of the XPEL it offers another layer of protection as well.

How much did the paint restore, XPEL and Ceramic coating cost.
Would have been about 1,900.
Ordinarily I am only interested in C8 content. However, my only other Vette was a 97 C5. At the time, the C5 was very hot and leaps and bounds nicer exterior than the C4.
The C5 is the furthest back I'd go with Corvettes personally, things start to get a lot more expensive to maintain if you go any further.

Film was around 1,500 and ceramic with paint correction was about the same.
The C5 is a show car, I would be afraid to drive it! The only thing I see that's a minus is the back glass looks as if it has a lot of scratches when they first raised the back glass?
I'm not sure what you were seeing, no scratches at all. Maybe the light reflections? It's very much so in show car condition.

Definitely the way the light hit it! The car is almost 100% scratch free!
Fun fact: Before blackout moved into their current shop I had them tint 2 of my cars. They messed up both of them.
