I had the pleasure of filming and working with tracker John and he’s a relentless tracker that will go to any degree possible to find a deer. Such a good guy and a hard worker
Your second arrow had some crazy flight too it might wanna check how your setup is tuned
Hit a limb too
It knicks a limb halfway to the buck you can see it in the footage if you slow it down
No Way!!!! Kickstand is a LEGEND around here! And so is TODD GRAFF!!!! BHOD BABY🤘
Ralph and Vicki are 100% the reason I am a bowhunting enthusiast today! They gave me a million opportunities when I was in high school to be involved in a small way and it changed my life forever. Best people I know! Thanks RC ~ Byron Jeff
Hopefully you treated jon something nice. That’s real determination!!
Ha, I actually made him a pumpkin parfait
One of my favorite hunts from you guys to date, the persistence was to find him uncanny. Congrats on getting your target buck Todd.
The grind is part of the passion. We don't remember the easy hunts with as much reverence. Great Job!
This exact thing happened to me last week in West Virginia. Took the 2nd arrowed shot and some crazy long hours tracking (in the snow) but eventually found my 8 point! Congrats TG!!
Awesome buck Todd. Congratulations 👏 I have watched all of the bowhunt or die deer hunting videos, it never gets old
Congratulations!!! Omg what a story!!!
great job sticking with it and enlisting the help that was required to find the buck. Good luck moving forward.
Congratulations, Never give up.. Great deer..
Congratulations Todd and the determination has refueled my tank for the second half of the season God bless and salute to you and the whole BHOD CREW and much respect to Tracker John and his trusty dog 🐕 giving this majestic buck the due diligence and effort they deserve when that arrow is released
A deers will to live is amazing. Great job sticking with it. Good luck in the future
Yes 🙌 years of watching and finally a giant
Congrats Todd! I've been watching your videos for a decade, i love the genuine passion and positivity. Keep it up!
You had some major torque in that risk making the arrow fly right. It’s tough getting to the proper anchor point and exact mechanics at full draw on an animal like that versus shooting in the yard!!! Congrats!!!!
this has to be one of my favorite episodes
awesome congratulations !! thank you for sharing and all your hard work !!
Nice work Todd. Congratulations.🎉🎉🎉
Thank you John!!!!
Great buck Todd!! Glad the story had a good ending. That Jurt buck looks like it will be a good up and comer in a couple years!
Crappy looking genetics, need to get him out of the herd...😄
It's great to see those perfect shot, and the deer falling in camera views, but the reality, like so eloquently pointed out, is poop happens at time. I enjoyed the blood trail search, it is something I feel is missing in most bowhunting videos. I had only 3 deer I had no blood trail to follow. So seeing you guys doing like I do was great. Congrats on the buck, but mostly on your determination.
Great extra effort. Great job from all the team work. 👍👍
Congrats Glad you found him . Bow hunt long enough crazy shots happen . Happy Thanksgiving everyone
Been there brother Great buck and awesome dog.
This was a fantastic story. Great job.
Awesome deer 🦌 congratulations and great group of guys to help you find it
Anyone who's hunted has had that happen...one of the reasons I keep my quiver on my bow vs tied off somewhere else for those quick follow-ups. Congrats on the deer and the persistent follow-up!
Congrats buddy what a awesome buck, and you guys never gave up
Congrants from Spain. Great buck and great job.
Looks like your alignment on the first shot is what changed your impact. I struggle with this as well, I try to set my stands so my shots are to my left but the deer don't always cooperate
Actually, both of his shots hit about 10 to 14 inches to the right! My thoughts were maybe his sight was loose..or maybe his string hitting his sleeve?
Glad you found him. I had a similar situation occur this year during the rut in IL. Had a great buck 14 yards and I shot too far forward though and caught his scapula. Unfortunately after 6 hrs of searching and losing blood I had to call it quits. Was my first time losing a big buck like that in that situation, definitely gut wrenching, but as you said, in bow hunting, it’s a part of the process sometimes.
Great video. Long time subscriber. Not a criticism, just an observation. Your first shot; your head was moving(you were peeking 😉) just as you released. Your bow appeared to be moving simultaneously. Ask me how I know this can happen...
Congrats and cool buck!
Congratulations on that Beautiful Stud!!!
Awesome video 🙌
Awsome, never give up. Congrats
Congrats, great buck.
I thought you were in trouble when you drew the bow with your bow arm down. We’ve all been there. Glad you stuck with it to recovery.
Congratulations Todd. Not really sure about that second shot. Either way, I'm pumped for you.
trust me, wished the shot turned out better...
Yes that second shot was terrible and really he shouldn’t have tried him again but oh well it’s over now
I have thought same on # of times. 2-4 at best for decent bucks 125 and bigger. Like your content.
Nice buck congratulations
I believe you were trying to watch your arrow rather than executing a proper shot. You can see the bow jump right on the first shot. Or maybe your sight got kicked off somehow. Either way, kudos for sticking with the track and exhausting all efforts to make sure that buck came home with you and didn’t end up being coyote food. Well done!
It’s not a sure deal until you put your hands on them. Congratulations Todd
#CongratsTodd. Gr8 Video & content...
good job for not giving up. thats the plus side of bow hunting at least you can see where you hit and know that that buck will die. and giving it your all to find him
very nice bucks. good luck this year.
That’s a great deer. So lucky to find him.
Glad you found the buck. You missed the mark to the right on 2 shots. Do you know why?
Honestly, I must have been pretty pumped / buck fever 🙃. Because as soon as I got back I shot the bow and it was dead on!
@@ToddGraf1happens to the best of us, I know it still gets me everytime. That’s why we love it
Congrats Todd. Might ought to run off that first “scrawny buck” you had on camera. 😂
I have been trying to get rid of him for a while now, no luck.
hahahah deer looks like a Funko Pop with that lens and angle Hilarious. Long arming is an art. Congrats on finding the buck.
Congrats to Todd!
Great hunt Todd! You really made an incredible effort to find that deer. Congrats! One question, was Sasquatch blind in his left eye? In the trail cam video it’s not reflecting
Nice job recovering the deer. But even better job working the angles on that final shot lol made him look about twice as big as he actually is. Nice deer no matter what lol
Congratulations 🎉🎉
Thanks.
I know the feeling. Shot mine at 830am Nov.2 this year and we found him 27 hrs later after I waited 24 hrs to look.
He was still warm when we found him. Shot was in the front of the guts exit the liver with in a 1inch of the diaphram.
I will be waiting 24 hrs on gut shots from now on. He ended up being a 162 inch 12 point. Congrats on a great buck!!!
Must be shooting small fixed blade
Nice Deer!! Been there done that!!!
Congratulations Todd. Glad you found him after all of that effort.
What a hunt, and what a deer. forever farm. you just said you weren't going to say that! hahah
As you came to full draw, I thought, man Todd's got this in the bag, he always makes it look easy when it's go time 😲 Check the video again. As you're getting your second arrow out of the quiver, was that broadhead partially open??
Nice Buck🤜🤛
Damn!!! that is a huge buck. He's definitely worth the late night stalk. Huge, OMG!!! 🌴🌹
So how many hrs from the shot would you say it took him to die?? Also when field dressing was the liver hit at all?
Congratulations, Mr. Todd! You earned that "Wall Hanger". The efforts on your property paid off. I am thinking of placing a water hole on my property. Do you suppose one of the Tractor Supply tubs will work, or should I dig a small pond? Also, how deep did you make your water hole?
It looked like you took a peak around your bow as you made the release.
Congrats
U flinched real bad on first shot
😑tell me about it...
Todd, it looks like both times your bow shot right (on the video). That's a really weird direction, if it was left I'd just say that you were torquing or pulling on the shot. But I re-watched the video several times. Do you think your sight bubble is not balanced on the tilt? Could shoot dead center on flat ground but be off when tilted forward.
Way to keep persistent!! Could you tell me which bino harness you have?
Todd's using the Kodiak Cub made by Alaska Guide Creations.
What tree stands do you use?
Todd, what was that you lined your water hole with? Visqueen?
Its an actual pond liner. You can get them from Amazon.
I think they needed a wider lens at the end. I could see the edges of the earth. :p
Yeah, Todd forgot to change his GoPro setting 😄
Did coyotes get to him on hip? Awesome hunt. Thanks for sharing.
Nope, coyotes did not find him.
Congratulations Todd! Rub it in Justin's face! Just kidding you two are good together yin and yang .
Hey Todd are those prescription sport glasses you wear when hunting look like maybe Oakleys?
Way to go tracker John!
Both arrows flew right.
food plots should be saved for hunting till late season
You consistently shot to the right on both shots. My brother shot a 140 last year in about the same spot and the buck unbelievably died in 20 yards from where he shot him. Never saw anything like it and don't expect to ever see it again. Way to stay with it to find him.
Did u buy this farm?
Yes, I did purchase this farm.
Did I hear 73 degrees was blazing hot 🤣💀
Sasquash looks blind in the left eye 👁🗨
Btw...what state
IL
@@ToddGraf1 used to live there. May hunt McClean co next yr. Private. Thx
@@ToddGraf1 What county Todd?
Now todd cant pout anymore
You are right.
Needless to say, that meat is rancid and ruined! But hey at least you found it.
Looks like you tried to see your shot on the first attempt with your head movement.
Congrats Todd, way to stick with it! I don't think Kurt will ever make it as a male stripper! Lol
like that camera magic lol good deer and congrats
Way to stick with it! Give it your all is what hunting is all about. If it were easy we would do something else.
I literally saw the flinch on the first arrow. Ive done it call it what you want target panic buck fever ect...it happens
Yes, it does!!!!
You know it isn’t THAT big when you gotta set at the ass of the deer to make yourself look smaller😂 looks goofy af lmao
if your talking about that last interview, I did have the wrong setting on the gopro.
Perseverance
By the initial looks of it and having not seen the close up and all.... Looks like you got the artery along the spine.
I punched the trigger on a doe and thankfully hit high, and got the artery with good blood.
Here's the video.

At 22:41, did you think that was a snake or something? Why did you get startled and jump like that? 😅,,, Even your buddy was giggling like Muttley at you.
Think he almost stepped on the blood drops that were in the grass there.
He didn't want to get tripped up by Tracker John's rope!
“Something happened to Sasquatch”…yeah, neighbor shot him. 😂
No, neighbor found him dead in a creek.
Bowhunting is my all consuming passion, but… yesterday buddy sends me an amazing video encounter with our property’s alpha buck - buddy was already tagged out. The most beautiful animal navigating the snowy woods. Looking at that deer that I’ve been obsessing about for three years, and then the shoulder wounded buck in this vid, and then the gut shot… I’m more and more convinced that collectively we are too liberal with our shot selection. (Can’t fault the first shot, we’re never going to eliminate all errors) Heck, kills would immediately get cleaner if everybody hunted crossbow, 25 yards and less. That’ll never happen but what’s more important celebratory beers at camp or less of these amazing beasts suffering.
terrible shot judgment on that second shot.
All that and a super long arm pose...
Sasquatch probably died from EHD. That waterhole setup you made with all the mud and exposed ground is a breeding ground for the midges that effect deer. Just use a plastic liner buried in the ground. Keep it simple. I assume you lost all the deer meat due to the streets on the animal and the heat?
Damn deer didn’t have a tail I woulda named him bob tail
