The teams don’t throw away the tires because they must give them back to Pirelli as the tire compound is a trade secret that Pirelli doesn’t want other competitors to get a hold of.
Could another company buy the tires and then deconstruct it? Or is it only exclusively for F1 cars and are tightly monitored?
@@Vennss Nope. The tires are manufactured by Pirelli exclusively for F1 and as soon as they are used, each set must be returned to Pirelli. The tires even have barcodes to keep track of them and make sure nothing gets out.
The tire used on the watch is probably an older compound that Pirelli gave to the watch manufacturer (the compounds are updated every year to keep up with the cars).
but like there’s a shit tone of marble on the track. Also I’ve seen that occasionally tires are gave away to some fans. So I’m not sure if it’s about the compound
@@MrJahoo2 Usually the tire marbles are ‘cooked’ rubber which is not very helpful if you’re trying to reverse engineer the chemical makeup of it. Additionally, I know that Pirelli cleans up the track after the race and collects every piece of tire they find on the track so even getting a hold of small pieces of rubber is very difficult.
About the “giveaways”, I don’t know if that’s true, I haven’t seen Pirelli or F1 give away actual tires, maybe small replicas but not actual tires.

Hey mate, Pirelli doesn't throw away the tires, they keep the rubber because the compound is top secret so actually that "trash" has a poop ton of value.
Actually impressed with Jordan's collection - nice to see non-Rolex/AP stuff.
He has a AP in this vid... and Jordan has at least one Rolex (Daytona).... Nico even said it in the last seconds...

I love the fact he is taking his demonetisation seriously but still can't make a video without swearing. It does show though why his videos are more interesting than every other watch channel, most of which have little personality most of the time because if they open up and drop a swear word they get hit in the pocket.

F1 tyres are collected after the race and even the smithereens blown away, cause the tyre manufacturer (currently Perelli) has spend millions of dollars in developing of the tyre. So to avoid someone from reverse engineering, the tyres are collected after the race.
