For a stock transmission with 375k miles on it, and then finally taking a crap while pushing 53" tires you can't even be mad at it. It was a trooper.
For sure Bloodbain. Honestly it was already slipping a little bit we just helpped it along slightly haha.
For sure....Ram and Gm would probably not do half in my experience..mileage that is.

What will help your power train IMMENSELY is gearing down those axles or swapping in a set thats bigger, stronger and mostlikely geared for 53s and the extra weight they carry. A little formula i have used for many yrs is .12 X whatever tire size = pretty accurate ratio. Yours happens to be 6.36, however they dont manufacture that specific ratio but they do make a 6.71. Downside with the 6.71 is that the pinion head is TINY and they tend to break first under a serious load. A much easier and better down the road solution i would suggest a set of 9 ton meritor axles like the ones that were under cougars, rg 33's, lmtv's etc etc. Ive built many buggies over the yrs and gearing is the absolute first I go after as soon as a substancially larger tire goes on, the upside to the meritors is that a large variety have planetaries in the hubs and have air lockers already in the diffs. Lots of work to get them under the truck and working properly but that'll be the last set of axles you'll ever need.
Right on big_ute. I had been looking at the mrap axles on govplanet but I only ever seen them up as singles axles and not a front and back combo. I was also thinking of just going with some 5 ton axles becase their is a abundice of them out there but I wonder about brakes on all these. I'm pretty sure everything is air brakes and I bet the conversion is not cheap at all. For now I believe im going to swap in some 5.38s after we get the new transmission and torque converter from the shop. I also got to put in a proper transmission cooling system and not rely on the stock one that is in the radiator.
Thank you a ton for the advice and ill get my eyes open for some meritor axles.
@@PaperBeatsRock I'd do a Driveshaft brake or a brake rotor on the input side of the axel........... TONS of monster trucks and very large custom rigs do that, 2 F250 rotors, to stop a monster truck or you could always get something larger, my 91 Kodiaks rotors compared to my 05 F250. the rotors in the front of that thing are massive its a Crew cab 7500 truck, custom dually bed, ..... but yeah best bet some hefty axels get the gearing right, i'd also upgrade to a aftermarket transmission cooler,
@@PaperBeatsRock it would also help to get a Tow tune or ask for someone pay them to make a custom tune specific for transmission saving tunes, and with tires as big as that id run the truck ONLY in tow haul mode and in offroad with tires that big only in 1 2 3 in tow haul,
@@justnsaliga8518 Currently I'm running a 50hp tune on her and I'm only driving it in tow haul. I agree that currently gears and transmission cooling is my biggest problem. I do know that down the road i will need to adress other things, but we are really going to need to get after this stuff. Ill look into the tow tune and see what mine does.
@@PaperBeatsRock there was a kit to put 1 ton brakes in the 2.5 ton top loader axles a few years ago.
When you closed the door then opened it back up I immediately knew 🤣 I can relate smfh
haha dude for real. Too many times have I been locked out and all trust is gone now.😂
Yep any time my vehicles are running, I have a window down
Another option are portal axles. They already lower the axle ratio considerably. Plus they offer awesome ground clearance. However, I don’t know how strong they are or aren’t. The Factory Dana 60 and Sterling can be built pretty bullet proof. Of course more than one way to skin a cat.
I doubt they would hold up to his douche bag driving
Awesome video, looks like hell of a lot of fun. Thanks for your time and video.
And I thought my 40's were huge! LOVE YOUR TRUCK MAN!
In my other video I put them side by side with a 35 and it makes it look like a donut tire lol. Thanks for the love.
@@PaperBeatsRock That trans shouldn't of broke that easy. Yes there is added weight but that wheel set up is nowhere near the weight the truck is rated to handle.
Thanks for switching from out of cab camera angle. Sick truck, love the tires and turbo flapping
Proper camera angles is a huge thing and I'm currently on the hunt for a camera guy in our local area to take out with me. I'm currently going to film school myself but I can't drive, shoot, run the drone and do everything else at the same time. Thank you so much Backyard Dad. oh and the turbo flap is my favorite parts lol
That looked like so much fun. Loved the intro!
Thank you so much man. I had so much more drone footage that looked amazing but I will use that with other stuff.
Should be using 4 low. And it will still go through the gears . Wow
Yeah first time out with it we were not exactly being proper. Lesson learned and we will be right back at it.
What an awesome day! I did feel it in the morning. The edit came out great, that intro, Bek thought I was watching a Netflix show.
Thank you so much for coming out man. The footage doesn't show it but you walked a lot in the snow for a lot of the shots and I'm so very appreciative. I honestly am surprised that I got the edit out the same day because I was pretty tired and just wanted to relax. Also yes the open shots. It was really fun editing that and bringing it all togather.
That's one nice truck you have there building one kinda like that
Phone call to the wife was priceless...
Dude for real. Love my wife and when i was doing the edit I was cracking up.
Well I found my new goal in life
Thank you youtube recommendations
look like a blast.. Thats what makes it interesting is when something breaks and everyone goes on a rescue mission
It was a blast. I devently like being around people that are all about helping out and getting stuff done.
Cool rig, I run a 2002 on 42” tires with only a leveling kit in the front.
Thats badass man. I like that bed exhast you got going on as well.
@@PaperBeatsRock thanks!
@@AcesUpOffroad yea bro that’s dope. I had to go check out your video too. Never seen anybody do that. 🤘
Gear ratio?
I love my 03 6.0, blown head gaskets and all. Ftw
Your 100% on point. Once we had bulletproofed ours its been a dream. There is always continued maintenance that will have to be done but that parts of any engine.
Another awesome video! Keep up the good work! Cant wait too see more! Can you please do a detailed video on where you all had too cut and trim? I currently am running 42s. And am gonna upgrade too 53s. And id like too see where you all had to cut and trim too fit them. Thanks!
Will do for sure man. We are not 100% done just yet. when I was out doing this trip I found a few spots that we defiantly need to address.
I had a 99 F-250 with 42” Super Swampers. Same thing happened to me. Put the extra cooler in and upgraded parts on the transmission. On our new truck it’s a 2017 F-250 with 46” tires. The stock cooling system on the new trucks are massive. Haven’t had any issues with the truck but I lowered gears to 4.88 and I have lockers front and rear.
Right on man. Yeah, I completely overlooked keeping the transmission cool. Also with my tuner, I can set it to flash if something is outside my preset ranges, but sadly I had not set that for my transmission. I have it only for my EGT and Oil Temps. Definitely going to spend the time and redo that.
I really like your Megatron truck. I was thinking about putting 1 or 2 of my 53's in the bed as you did. I just wonder about that much weight back there when bouncing around and how much force that amount of mass will put on everything.
@@PaperBeatsRock with two straps per tire they don’t move. My 46” tires are 19” wide. The only shit part is they are 200lbs. Will be a bitch if I have to swap a tire out loading it up by myself if I’m alone. I also have a 60 gallon reserve tank in the bed. I have all kinds of weight and no issues.
@@megatronsoff-roadadventure5565 Yeah I was looking at that with your build. I also dread trying to do a tire swap on this thing. Looked like a pain getting your 46s in with the quad ramp. I would be pretty much in the same boat but with 300lb.
That had to be soooooo fun ......that truck is badass I love it
Thank you so much bud.
With all that muddy & wet, heavy snow it looks very slippery. Looks fun, none the less. Have fun & stay safe up there.
For sure it was a blast. And we always do keep safety first.
Hot damn that thing is badass
and not a pavement Princess😃
Try climbing up into a 70 Mach1 setting on 44 inch Gumbos !!! That was my daily driver for 6 years back in the early 80s !!!
Wow that rock bouncer is so cool I never seen something go so good
The wheels make that super duty look like a damn ranger 😭 looks really good!
Thank you J X. We got 4 more of them and been talking about putting them on a Ford Ranger build that we have here. but I also do want to stick some on a miata and only way into the car is to crawl in from the top.
The 6.0 just sounds so damn good. LOVE it, makes me really miss mine...
I 100% agree. Their exhaust tone is so good.
Now you need like a massive set of V bar chains for that bad boy! Lol
your cinematography has come a long was. the opening was quite epic. looks like time for a monstor billet 5r110. amd some 5.88s
Thank you so much. I love doing opening shots like that. The visuals help tell the story I feel. We have already ordered up the parts for the transmission and will be getting that done soon. Gears will be next on the list.
This is awesome
My family and I have a jet ski rental business and we have custom 6 ski trailers that we haul onto the sand and over the years we do three things to our beach trucks. They are all old carburetored ford single cab long bed 4x4’. Lockers front and rear. Bead locks and 15.5” wide superswampers tsl the og style at 10 pounds and they spread our contact out nice and wide and we rarely have problems on that soft powder sand. We have tried 8 different combinations. This one seems to really work
Man it just keeps getting better keep up the amazing content buddy 👏
Thank you so much for the motivation man. I really do appreciate it.
Oregon gang
love the video man looks like a lot of fun was had
It was a blast of a time and there is a lot more following up to it.
That thing is so cool. Love it
Hell yes. Thank you Chancellor I love the motivation.

Awesome video, I was laughing 😂 when you called the wife . Can't wait to watch more videos
Good stuff
Appreciate it
Awesome video nothing sounds better than a screaming 6.0 💪💪🇺🇲🇺🇲
I 100% agree there James. Its going to get better once we get the sacks on her as well. 😁
The 6.0 is the best sounding diesel on the road hands down
10-blade turbo wheel is what makes em sing. I get looks every day.
Hell yeah! That's badass brotha😎
🤘😁🤘 hell yes Marco. Thank you so much.
Looks like a pretty cool place to do some playing!! I don't care what people say, I sure love the 6.0L!
Its an outstanding place right now Shawn and there has not even been any realy trail development. We will be getting in their and really getting after it. I also love the 6.0's. they are amazing engines.

Cool gear, cool tunes,, 😎 cool vids, appreciate 🇨🇦 , happy new year 23
Big truck for big man 💪🏽💪🏽
Dude that truck is SICK!!!!
Thank you so much for the motivation RiRebel. We are getting the new transmission rebuilt now and will be back at it very very soon.
For once I'm happy to see a lifted truck being used...most lifted trucks see on the road avoid even a the tiniest water puddle on the road.. cheers man ,keep them videos coming 👍
I ran TSL Boggers on one of my trucks and the carnage from broken drive train parts was ridiculous even the dana 60 broke parts. Cool truck I'm not a 6.0 fan though
Your 100% correct Scott. It can be extremely ruff on all the parts and I'm ok with that because it just means upgrades. As for the 6.0 I'm a huge fan. I know that everyone hates them but onces they are diled in they produce so much and you don't have all the bs of DEF. I currenetly almost have 400k on this engine and its been a champ.
A set of Rockwell 5 ton axles with a hydraulic brake conversion(~$800 conversion kit) would help you tremendously. It's not a very complicated process at all. I have done it several times on super duties. Only required welding on a 2011
Thank you very much Cory, This is something we are looking into currently. I know gears, and axles are our biggest problem. We are trying to find some now but also got to keep the content rolling. Where do you sorce your brake conversion kit?
@@PaperBeatsRock I contacted diesel sellerz for one and the other 2 were sourced from 4 wheel parts. It's going to be a call to either one to get what you need. Basically it adapts the air brake system to work as a hydraulic system
Sweet !!!😎
Still a badass 4x4 ! Yee haw!
Absolutly bud.🤘
That's badass I have a friend up in Oregon, the snow looks nice I'm subscribing
Thank you so much. Comments like this motivate the hell out of me.
badass truck
Thank you Rob.
Love that it's not a pavement princess!
Douglas you know that so many of them are and they just do nothing with the trucks. Don't get me wrong I like to look at some nice trucks, but I also like going out and effing some stuff up.
I wish we got snow here. Yesterday in south GA I was working outside in shorts and a T-shirt. We were pushing 80 degrees. I’ve always wanted a snow day to play in
Damn Lester. that is crazy. I remember there was a bad storm that pushed though the south east in Feb of 2014. I just got out of the military. left NC and drove thought it. was unreal.
My Mach1 loved the snow and mud but I was drivin through the Arkansas river one day and found some quick sand !!! It took 18 4x4s to pull it out !!!
greatest truck name ever
haha Thank you Luke. Stay motivated man.
Damn these are some crazy mods
So life like.
Glad that dodge made the trail for ya lol
Knew something was gonna give. 6.blow another bites the dust 🤣
Greatest Name Ever!🇺🇸👍
Hell yes man. You have an outstandable day. 🤘
That truck is definitely Boss. I wish we got snow down here in Alabama. It multiplies the fun.
it does for a fact but you guys got some amazing mud down there. I just hate the humidity that you all got.
@Martin Skoda Sorry spell check got me on that one. Thank you.

I guess its no longer a FORD .its a FOMD .. FOUND on mountain dead lol hope you get it fixed buddy still looks like u had a blast
haha good jab. We are getting the new transmission built currently and will be back tearing up this up coming weekend.
I like this channel alread!
Things just getting better every day.
That's why they call them Ford Super Duty!..❤
Man I feel like my bighorn 35s are tiny now time to upgrade 🤣🤣🤣🤣🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Meanwhile I can barely get my 6.0 up the snowy driveway with 35” Cooper Discoverers lol
i know that feeling. but if its paved I dont know if I would have much more luck on that lol
Ford or dodge could never build a good diesel. Never
That's thing is awesome💯 I want one 🤔
G Shell. Honestly it was not that bad to build. Hunting for the good deal was key.
Wife: "Could it be the big tires on it?"
"NAAAAAWWW"
Nothing but love 💕 for you man ,, awesome video , if I was there with my truck I would of help you out the best I could , I have a 78 F150 mud truck love trucks for what they can do
Hell yes Leon, I love the motivation man. I love the Ford Dentsides. They are my favorite generation of fords.
Now that's a real truck
Hell yes Ricky. Thank you my man.
Beautiful country brother
It sure is, I cant wait for the fall to get in full effect and then winter snow.
You have a good sized external cooler already, you can upgrade to a mishi moto cooler and it’s even bigger, but you really need a set of gears in that thing, I would source out a f550 axle with the 5.38 gears in it, front and rear. Especially if you wanna play in 2wd. It’s an easier swap than throwing 2.5 tons or 5 tons underneath.
You are 100% correct Kyle. We do have a aftermarket cooler with a electric fan coming so that it moves air when the truck is not moving that much air. Also we are working on getting some axles. I don't mind the work to put in the bigger military axles and honestly would prefer to get some because all the other componits will hold up better to the abuse. I know my ball joints hate me.
Man ya gotta love the sound of the six oh...
Thought mine sounded good but I think this one has it beat. lol
Got a dirtymax too but it sounds like a goddamn prius. haha
haha dirtymax. your killing me Carl. I have yet to own one. I have had a lot of cats, cummins, and powerstrokes.

Nice rig I have 2 99. I did lockers in stock size tires and that helps alot and I mean alot. And the misimoto transmission coolers are awesome
Right on man. Yeah we may need to check out some lockers and look at the misimoto coolers.
@@PaperBeatsRock may want to make sure your cooling fan is working I assume that's a 6.0 and people are known to swap the fans out of those to a 7.3 powerstroke fan

Hell yes man. It was a blast driving it down around town. I'm really supriced with how well it behaves on the road.
We were just up in your neck of the woods on New Year's Eve day on I84 going over Blue Mountain when that crazy idiot shot it out with the cops. He literally was directly across the highway from us pointing his revolver all over the place! We witnessed him carjack the pickup which was a HUGE mistake for him because that dude was a retired LEO and I believe he shot the chucklehead criminal in the head down the road. #oneless Your truck is legit.
Damn!

Time for a collaboration with Precision Transmission! Lol
Gained a new sub. I miss my 6.0 and never got the chance to take it to the snow. Always thought it would sound bad ass in ripping in the snow
Ray this motivates the hell out of me. Thank you so much for the sub. I as well love the 6.0 even with everyone dogging them so much it doesn't bother me. They are great engines when built properly.
Cool engine very costly tho. Bet Ray S don't miss that.
