"Less" is ambiguous in the dictionary, but a mathematician would probably take "less" as the preposition "minus", so "less cash received" would mean the total after subtracting the amount you pocket in cash. But bankers aren't mathematicians and this line is traditionally the amount you pocket. Oh, so yeah put zero on this line if you are depositing the whole check.
@@philg4116 Since covid and the false and stupid belief that covid is easily past by touching objects, banks by me no longer use deposit slips. They want you to announce out loud how much less cash you are taking so everyone can hear you and rob you when you leave. Going through the drive through results in a conversation of what you are trying to do so sometimes I include a note.
They really should teach stuff like this in schools
