This is a response to a request for information or assistance from Mr Danoconner, a fellow youtuber that has lots of tractor videos as well as many other interesting topics.

Thank you for the nice comment Peter. Help is the easiest thing to give. I hope it will get him on the correct path for finding the numbers. Unfortunately my Case tags were just glued on and the one on the ROPS was literally hanging by a thread of glue on one corner. That's why I have it clipped on the manual....I don't want to lose it. Dan's may be gone if they too were glued on. But his is old enough I think they should be rivited.

Always stay busy. If you don't, you're asking for "Time and Age" to set in (smile).....and you don't want that to happen. I never got a service manual for my Massey 1533 but had one downloaded but I need to reorder it since my computer crashed. Oh the woes of high-tech. Later and S/F, my friend.

It is not a tag, it's stamped into the block. mine is 2794510 . Thanks for the location, I'm chasing down parts and that's what they need.
Different years apparently did different things. Mine was a tag with one rusted off rivet. So I removed it and attached it inside my manual. Now, you're saying 'block'...might that be the serial number of the engine by chance ? I've got a separate engine serial # on mine...just wondering.
@@tractorman4461 It is stamped , no tag. Like a hammer and someone stamped each number into it. But it is in he exact place your video showed. Saved me a lot of time looking for it.
@@troyb.4101 Now that's cool. I'm glad to have been a bit of help. Awesome. Are you looking for engine parts or hydraulic parts...?? I'm in the middle of a 188D rebuild right now. Its out of a 430 utility tractor but its the same engine as my own '73 580 B hoe.
@@tractorman4461 They run the motor with no water. . Water was leaking into the engine block. Resurface the head valve job all new gaskets. Sent head off to get reworked.. I think they warped it also.
@@troyb.4101 dang that’s almost a total rebuild! I’ve got to order, pistons rings, wristbands, and instead of sleeves for this one.
I'm having a problem identifying my case backhoe. It states on the side of the machine 580 B CK. I cannot find an I.D. tag on the steering column.
It's not uncommon for the tags to be missing. And depending on the year, the tag location may be entirely different. Mine happens to be a 1973 580B and was an aluminum tag barely held on by one remaining rivit. The paint and metal had rusted and bubbled up bad enough it almost had the tag pushed off both rivits. So David you might try a Case forum or Case Industrial Tractor forum to ask other owners to direct you where to look. That's all I got.

@@tractorman4461 Good morning, I am referring to the vin number that is engraved on the chassis, I don't know if you have seen it.
@@manuelgrajales3786 No, I havent seen it specifically. All I have seen is a tag on the engine with its identification, then the tag referred to in the video for the serial number of the tractor itself.
