- Captain Klaus Muller, a Wehrmacht veteran, fought with his men on the terrible Russian front. Sorry, he was hospitalized and then sent to France, where he must serve under the orders of Marshal Rommel. The disembarkation on the Normandy coast is being prepared in secret. The day J approaches. Klaus Muller will be one of the actors of the greatest invasion in military history.

Second rate film don't bother.
If anyone is interested in the name of the movie it is Brother's War in 2009. A good follow up could be Battle of Castle Itter where the Wehrmacht, American and French Armies fight against the SS.

Modern ww2 movies should be banned, they don't have the tanks, aeroplanes or the actors, they're just pathetic. To think 10's of millions of people died in order for this pathetic movie to try to return a profit.

the longest day is based on a book and on real facts and surely not was a cheap movie
if you search realism better you get a look at some russian and belaruss movies. one of these is "idi i smotri". is not for all.
@@mariorossi4050 The studio had a problem with The Longest Day, they said it was too blood thirsty so they had to lower the amounts of 'fake blood' used. Now since it was a Black and White movie, red fake blood couldn't be used and black fake blood was used. Richard Todd was offered the chance to play himself in the movie, but instead played Lord Lovat. A lot of actors served during the war, but John Wayne decided to fight his was on a sound stage.
There are also mistakes in the "longest day".
The Longest Day is also one of the longest movies ever.But one of the best war movies ever.

1944, Too much extra weight on too many. Germans and Russians were lucky to have a couple of potatoes a day on top of mystery meat and pelleted soup. As mentioned mini's and botox! At least someone could have thrown a bit of mud on all those PRISTINE tanks, half tracks and tank destroyers. Also an aircraft with a post WW2 A 1 Skyraider profile. All in all an opportunity lost.
