- Another new experience - Flying into Class C airspace. We left Moorabbin in a hot strong northerly and headed up to Albert Park Lake, only about 10 miles from Moorabbin and close to Melbourne CBD. We had to orbit and wait for a clearance because of medical traffic, then Essendon Tower instructed me to approach via West Gate bridge. No problem - even did a decent job with the class C airspace radio procedures. Then the southerly change hit and was still swinging south as I was on final. 19 knots of crosswind on runway 26!! Traffic was already leaving on 17. Approached too fast and too high but landed safely (with a bit of help!!) This flying stuff will be fantastic when I learn how to do it....

Nice recovery.
lot of drama for so little little traffic..try flying at YCAB on a Sunday for a few real thrills, anyway some good tips for when I eventually fly down and attempt a YMEN landing ...maybe I will start sweating as well :)
Saw you were sweating quite profusely ...bit of stress i take it...lol
Why did the ATC have an echo noise?
