@@thecensoredmuscle563 no…abusive. A toxic person can change. An abusive person can not. Compared to abuse it IS a softer term and it is not the right term to describe their relationship at all. Toxic is honestly a band aid word people often put on most relationships to justify abusive behavior & actions. A toxic person will argue you a lot over stupid things, but an abusive person will beat you into submission. A toxic person can constantly get jealous, but an abusive person will bang their head on their wall to make other stay. Toxicity can border abuse (if it’s serious), but any form of abuse can not border toxicity because that means the toxicity has gone too far to go back. So technically it IS a softer term. It’s literally the same idea as red can go pink, but pink can’t technically go back to red.
@@thecensoredmuscle563 if you get it you get it if you don’t you don’t, not my problem. And no, an abusive person doesn’t change. They can hide but they will always be what they are. And I don’t understand why you trying to correct me or argue with me cuz it’s not like I said was wrong. I simply said what I said and corrected a SOFT word. Whether you like it or not people perceive toxic as a soft word because it is, while real abuse is worse. So me stating it as abuse states the seriousness of the details of the relationship. I quite literally do not understand why you feel the need to try and start something that will never be seen as the same in sort of way. It’s ignorance at best.
Zuko and mai are the most toxic relationship in avatar the last airbender. This is due to zuko only dating mai to get his mind of uncle iroh and azula forcing mai to date zuko. The series fully let this be known in the comics and emerald Island, when zuko admits he doesn't like mais personality and mai openly favors other guys
Toxic is a pretty difficult word to wrap your head around or define, so many people will take up a certain meaning for it, usually a lighter meaning, and never learn exactly what it was meant to refer to.
@@kaveenasingsandcosplays3441 the dynamic going into the relationship was terrible for Aang. The relationship itself was fine don't get me wrong but it's not like Katara was head over heels for Aang like he was for her. Even when they kissed the first time it was Aang surprising her with it. It wasn't until the very end, when it was clear there were no other options, that she finally decided to choose Aang. Sidenote: Katar is perfectly justified for not wanting to choose Aang. She's not toxic, the dynamics of the build up is.

Same same same. I never got the Aang/Katara or the Mai/Zuko. Zuko and Katara challenged each other, supported each other, and the other two romances were kinda treated as a 'given' (even though Aang kinda forced his feelings on Katara) (etc with Mai/Zuko) But oh well. Katara had stuff to do with love, she just wasn't interested in Aang until she was tricked into thinking they're meant to be and then they kissed in a cave because they had to
Korra and Mako along with Zuko and Mai should also be here. Mako pretty much two timed both Korra and Asami, and Mai always either ordered Zuko to get him stuff or disregarded his feelings like when she yawned and said "I only asked if you were cold, I didn't ask for your whole life story" something along those lines
(this is long sorry I just really don't like Mai) she was really b!tchy and would get p!ssed at him for the smallest of things like he dropped an icecream cone and she was so p!ssed at him that she ignored him and let other guys flirt with her and was annoyed that he was upset about it and when he thought he wasn't invited to a war meeting he tried to tell her his feelings about not being invited and she dismissed him saying something along the lines of "why don't you order some servants to get me a tart" and the fact that she was mad at him for not saying goodbye when he got banished (most likely)knowing that he was just publicly disfigured by his father and then the same guy who disfigured him basically said "gtfo my country" and she thinks she's even a thought that crossed his mind? b!tch you ain't that important

@@sickening_love1154 my main issue is the writing in this relationship. Completely scrapped together last minute- nothing in their relationship changes, grows or makes either of them better people. I've been saying this for the LONGEST! The relationship between Zuko and Mai was so forced! Earlier we saw Zuko flatly reject Song when she tried to get close to him, and then very hesitantly kiss Jin when out on a date, but the second he reunites with Mai, we're supposed to believe they had some beautiful romance before he was banished. Every encounter they had, Mai was eternally displeased, but Zuko stayed simping for her even though that was never his character before. They were definitely an unhealthy couple.

How were they toxic? Zuko fucked up trying to break up with her via letter but had good reasons for it. And Mai betrayed Azula for him, indirectly saving the world.
@@Thesilentdemise You can do nice things for the people you love, but consistency is more important than big grand gestures of love. They argued and broke up 3 times. Twice in the series once in the comics. Besides Zuko doesn't understand Mai and Mai doesn't bother to listen to Zukos feelings. You can live someone but just not be right for them. Plus the only reason they are together is because Azula pushed them into a relationship.
I’m the opposite in that regard. I for one believe that the relationship between Zuko and Mai was an excellent example about how their love each other was unwavering until proven otherwise.
What I like about avatar the last airbender netflix live action is that they made hahn a noble understanding and caring person who sacrificed his life in the war🫡
Eska and bolin is also another example of a toxic relationship. She got jealous when he showed concern for Korra and tried to force him to marry her and treated him horribly.
Lets pretend that mako's ever first relationship is with asami. I can understand to a male teenager's mind if he's gonna pick between a hot and rich girl or a tomboy-ish girl (yeah korra is the avatar but shes broke af bro, she doesnt even work cause shes already being feed at the temple). Its a typical teenager behavior where majority of teenagers are more drawn to physical aspects of the person than the inside. But i still agree this type of behaviour is bad but its understandable if we consider mako is still a teenager who let me remind you had to grow up fast cause he had to take care bolin at a very young age (and alone) so he never had the time to take care of himself and never had a chance to grow as a person.
Honestly kuvira didn't deserve the ending she got and it made it feel rushed. Like she knew how powerful the avatar was going in so her defeat in giving up at the end made no sense
Ursa was forced to craft a poison to save her kids. Then, had to leave them behind. What worse is that she doted on Zuko because he wasn't corrupted yet like Azula. This was in hopes that he would turn out better. So, yeah, the whole Royal Fire Family was messed up.
I think Azulon is really the one who arranged Ursa and Ozai's marriage. Also, Mako and Asami made sense especially in the second season; they should've been together all season.
Mako double crossing Asami and Korra is what got me off LOK, as I l really wanted Mako and Korra to get together, but then I don't really remember which ep no. The ppl asking for more toxic relationships in LOK 💀 Korra literally dated all of her friends
Except Bolin. The guy that actually liked her. But he was better off wuth the air bender girl
Korra sounds like that person who would mistakes her best friends' platonic instances for romantic relationship lol
@@Dreamer-rg4eb She didn't deserve bolin
I didn't know she had only 2 friends.
@@nikia_no ?
"you know it's bad when they've both had plots to murder each other" true, kinda funny to say it so bluntly though
Me when i personally adore Yue and i feel like she deserves so much better. I hope she's happy as the moon spirit but this poor girl was so unhappy it felt like and then died before her life could truly take a turn and get started. Yue was such a sweet loving girl and she loved her people dearly she could've been a great queen or something i think she also is a wonderful loving spirit 😭😭
Ayo, what if Azula actually got with the guy at the party and he was into the craziness? 😂
I'd also add Korra and Mako in book 2. Korra's constant blaming Mako for things that aren't his fault and yelling at him for every little thing was pretty toxic. I'd say even more toxic than Mako's relationship with Asami.
Also, Bolin and Eska was the embodiment of an abusive relationship, idk how you missed that.
Fr the last one, Eska traumatized Bolin
Kuvira actually did care about Baatar, but she put her work before everything.
We can even see that after she thought she killed him, she took a deep breath, hinting that she did feel grief, but still cared about her work more than anything.
True
Then she didn't care about Baatar, lmao. Someone who truly loves their partner would never think about murdering them just to accomplish world dominance. Kuvira never gave af about that simp. She used him to further her own selfish goals and this is what Suyin pointed out as well.
Yeah, I wouldn't call them too toxic.
Well Ursa didn’t plot to murder Ozai. Besides she only joined in poisoning Azulon to protect Zuko
I don’t think Asami and Mako are toxic. I would have put Bolin and the twin
Mako literally cheated on her
@@sosososososo123 he didn’t? Korra kisses him lol
I think Korra is toxic.

Mako kissed korra while in a relationship with asami, mako is still interested in asami even after breaking up with her and dating korra, mako immediately kissed asami after breaking up with korra. Mako dumped asami again after korra lost her memory
Still think their relationship isn't toxic?
Ozai didn’t force Ursa to marry him, Azulon forced the marriage
He was toxic for always hurting his children and wasn't kind to her. That counts. And Ozai told her that she was not allowed to see her family ever again. So that's toxic.
@@handsanitizer5127 Never said he wasn’t toxic. Just pointing out that bit of information was incorrect

And that's why Korra and Asami cut the middle man and went for each other.
Ursa & Ozai wasn’t “just” toxic it was emotionally abusive & manipulative.
If you didn’t read the web comic, it turns out Ursa already had a man she was in love with but Ozai forced her to mary him or her true love will be killed.
Also, when she finally met Zuko again she LITERALLY had her true face taken away and made was given a whole new face & memory. THATS HOW MUCH TRAUMA THIS WOMEN HAD!
Even when she got her face back and finally moved back to Zuko’s home. She was deeply afraid to even go in the temple. In the end Ozai left DEEP EMOTIONAL SCARS on her…
So.....toxic. toxic is such an overused word these days that you have started to think it has a softer meaning than it does.
@lilithyolanda9851 an abusive person can definitely change. Either way an abusive person is a toxic relationship.
WHAT. OH MY GOSH.
Sokka dating a moon spirit will be undefeated
People nowadays don’t seem to recognize the difference between bad and toxic
Toxic is a pretty difficult word to wrap your head around or define, so many people will take up a certain meaning for it, usually a lighter meaning, and never learn exactly what it was meant to refer to.
Aang and Katara but you aren't ready for that conversation...
Explain
@@kaveenasingsandcosplays3441 the dynamic going into the relationship was terrible for Aang. The relationship itself was fine don't get me wrong but it's not like Katara was head over heels for Aang like he was for her. During the time where it's known he liked her, she never saw him as more than a little brother. She's seen wanting Jet, that one earthbender guy and if we want to reach we could say Zuko as well.
Sure.
Gosh they're better in the comics though
When ur ex and ur crush get together you know you messed up 💀
can't lie i am a hardcore zutara fan i really thought they were perfect for each other - i mean yin and yang, fire boy and water girl etc so when Aang and angi met i lowkey thought that was the start of their love story cos u could tell she kinda had a crush on him and they were cute together
Same same same. I never got the Aang/Katara or the Mai/Zuko. Zuko and Katara challenged each other, supported each other, and the other two romances were kinda treated as a 'given' (even though Aang kinda forced his feelings on Katara) (etc with Mai/Zuko)
But oh well. This is why I'm writing my own story.

Ursa never planned to kill ozai. Tho she did kill azulan cus ozai said in return he won’t kill zuko. Also mako was super roxic. He was into korra bur dated asami, then was with korra but was into asami.

@@heisenberg1681 the things she did was pretty toxic tho. There is a difference between not working out simply because they are unbalanced and having a behavior that is clearly disturbing the relationship. Zuko wasn't even being himself in the relationship, and she was always complaining about everything. What's even more unhealthy? They broke up and then eventually dated again. And the loop continues lol
@@sickening_love1154 my main issue is the writing in this relationship. Completely scrapped together last minute- nothing in their relationship changes, grows or makes either of them better people.
Zuko growing into a leader was not influenced by his relationship with mai. It was due to his individual epiphany that what he was doing was wrong.
I like Han in the live action they made him a better person

I don't think you definitely can really consider Angie's relationship toxic over one interaction but you got a point.
My favorite character being Mako, what does that say about me?
You like characters with a good head on their shoulders, because that's what Mako was before the writers decided to ruin him.
That you see the idea of the character and what they could have been and not the execution
Mako actually has a nice character design so that's understandable
Mako rocks but Korra is better

Man, the Korra love shit was crazy
For me, the toxic relationship was Zuko and Mai
Unlike these couples, those 2 actually loved each other.
I'm sad they made mako character like that and to end up with both your exes dating each other
And to name him after Mako, legendary VA
He needed self growth.

Asami deserved _much_ better in the relationships department honestly.
Honestly kuvira didn't deserve the ending she got and it made it feel rushed. Like she knew how powerful the avatar was going in so her defeat in giving up at the end made no sense
Chan and Azula???? They weren’t even in a relationship. Also where’s bolin and eska???

Ursa was forced to craft a poison to save her kids. Then, had to leave them behind.
What worse is that she doted on Zuko because he wasn't corrupted yet like Azula. This was in hopes that he would turn out better.
So, yeah, the whole Royal Fire Family was messed up.
I think Azulon is really the one who arranged Ursa and Ozai's marriage. Also, Mako and Asami made sense especially in the second season; they should've been together all season.
