The Gilmore's are generationally wealthy. Rory says in one episode that her ancestors come up on the mayflower (the ship that brought the pilgrims to America) so they're like og colonizer rich
I love watching you react to random Gilmore Girls's episodes. I personally wouldn't have recommended you this particular episode, tho. I think you should watch 2x21"Lorelai's Graduation Day" and 4x22 "Raincoats and Recipes"!
5:54 I like that perspective “I would feel good that I kept my composure and didn’t start to engage in the same behavior” because that’s the real war right there
Honestly, my fan favorite was season 1 episode 9. It's season one, so everything isn't a mess. The characters haven't deteriorated and its just sort of cute.
that episode gets me shouting at the screen every time. emily acting like she's entitled to control everyone, and other people just going along with her for no reason.
Yes! Another Gilmore Girls reaction! Loving these!!! There's too many great episodes to me. Wedding Bell Blues (Season 5, Episode 13) and Rory's Dance (Season 1, Episode 9) would be good for reactions. Ooh, and the final two episodes of season 4: Last Week Fights, This Week Tights (Season 4, Episode 21) and Raincoats and Recipes (Season 4, Episode 22). So fun. As for Logan, yeah.. he pressured Rory into doing a lot of things. Sadly, teens didn't and probably still don't see that as problematic. Emily is definitely a Karen. You honestly haven't even seen her go full-on Karen yet. 😂
“How did they make their money - was it a generational thing or did they step on people?” I think there’s enough evidence in the series to say: both! Richard’s parents were also wealthy (and Emily’s were wealthy enough for her to go to a good ‘women’s’ school) and we hear about them being ruthless in business/life at least a couple times in the show (e.g., Richard buying out an entire supply of cigars when he didn’t get the price he wanted and then selling them to the original seller for twice their worth)
I'm SO glad you revisited Gilmore Girls! There are just so many fan favorite episodes. My personal favorite is S4E14: The Incredible Sinking Lorelais :)
As a major fan that’s rewatched the show many many times - easily one of the best episodes is when Rory & Paris go on spring break in season 4 ep 17. A must watch!!!✨
honestly my favorite episodes are in the first season, the pilot, the first day of school, the test day, when she moves to college is a good episode too
I just discovered your channel today, and I’m so grateful to the algorithm. You’re humor, pacing, voice, and reactions are so engaging and enjoyable. Best wishes!
Please keep making these with Gilmore Girls! It’s fun watching you piece the story together Your channel is awesome, hope it blows up and keeps growing
I really love this series! It’s funny how it feels “nostalgic” to think of the time I just turned on the tv and would pop into season 4 or 5 of a show and just have to figure it out Ahaha your commentatong really adds to the feeling
This was really funny 😂 Would love to see you reacting to Wedding Bells Blues because it’s an highly dramatic episode built on so much stuff going on from the previous seasons and it would be very funny to see your reaction without having the context for everything.
In regards to the money thing. 1. Richard works for a very wealthy insurance company. 2. He most certainly comes from money. You should watch the first episode we meet his mother. not sure when that is. as for the whole Dean/Rory thing: Dean got married, he and Rory slept together and now he is getting divorced. And finally you should watch season 5 episode 13. One of my favorite Gilmore Girls episode. Another tv show you should watch just for fun would be The Crown. a rather new show, but it's really good
@@LouiseAndersen1991 Thanks for filling me in. Unfortunately WB just sold the CW, so their copyright rules are changing. I doubt i'll be able to make another Gilmore girls video
Never watched this show when it was on air~watched it during 2022 when we were hermits and I ran out of series to watch while doing boring tasks! Your comments are great! Funny and spot on.
Season 2 Episode 13 Tisket, A-Tasket Season 1 Episode 5 Cinnamon's Wake Season 5 Episode 17 Pulp Friction Season 4 episode 7 The festival of living art (Kirk is lovable weirdo in town)
I love the concept of Blind Watch, I discovered a lot of my favorite 2000s tv shows that way. Please, watch next 4x22 - Raincoats and Recipes!! It's amazing!!
Good video! I like this episode because it shows more directly that Lorelais parents are bad people even though parts of the fandom love to defend them because they sometimes have funny or witty lines which I really don’t like. Lorelai continues to suffer from her parents‘ emotional abuse
When I heard the title of the episode, I went "ugh". I'm not a Logan fan. My opinion, and only my opinion, but when Logan appeared, that's when the episodes started to go downhill. But I was just pulled into your reaction universe from out of nowhere, so I will continue watching .
@Anna i think the main ship for people who mostly watched for Rory was Rory/Jess but a lot of the fans who watched more for Lorelai/Luke ended up preferring Rory/Logan if they had to pick a Rory ship and Logan is pretty close behind Jess in terms of fanbase. If it's not 50/50 for Team Jess vs Logan it's still 2 pretty big swaths of fans for each. I think the way the other Gilmore Girls reaction on this channel was for an episode often rated the best which "happens to be" the episode where Rory/Jess actually get together/Dean breaks up with Rory because she's into Jess and she admits it's true... That's not a coincidence. The Jess/Rory fans were waiting for that for SO LONG and loved it. So that episode is one of the most enjoyed in part because of that plot point. And this one here in season 5 is just such a compelling new ship option for Rory where she actually is fully enjoying herself. Unlike the early s5 stuff before this which had way too much of awful Dean/Rory s5 stuff. We all needed something better for Rory.
@Anna Jess is definitely my favorite. ;) always. I have many fanvideos of Rory/Jess. But he's not even on the show more than 2 seasons except for a few guest appearances. Logan ends up more prominent in the show too. 3 full seasons plus a lot more screen time in the revival
Someone suggested this episode before Friday Night's Alright for Fighting???????? If you don't do any other episode of this show please, PUH-LEASE do that episode!!!!!
I knew a lot of people into this show. I tried watching it and got through to season 3, after that I lost what little interest I had. I tried so hard to like this show but some things aren't meant to be. Thanks for this!
This is a passable episode, but it isn’t even one of my five favorites from that season. These type of blind reactions are kinda fun. But they’re also a bit frustrating since often these “favorites” are either not that acclaimed of an episode (a high IMDB score frequently doesn’t equate to what critics and fans consider the best) or they’re so connected to the characterization and arc of the season that it’s impossible to a newbie to get into.
YOU JUMP I JUMP JACK IS THE BEST EPISODE EVER. ive rewatched so many times it should be illegal to memorize a script like i memorized this episode's script
This surprised me that it was someone’s fav, definitely not one id pick out as a great one, but I love the show so much, and I am a Logan and Rory shipper lol I hope you choose to do more of these episodes!!
I'm just gonna need you to watch the whole series. Possibly in order, possibly just more skipping around and then try and piece everything together. Like the last episode was two seasons ago and Dean broke up with Rory...how/why do you think he's back in her life??
Lorelai's father works in insurance, but he and Emily both came from money also. He and Emily are separated at the moment, so he lives in the poolhouse out back.
luke is a successful business owner. richard doesn't own a franchise. emily doesn't work. it makes no sense how they look down on him for owning a restaurant. they are reprehensible and there are more examples in other episodes. i got kicked out of a gg fan group for pointing out how horrible it was that richard wanted to pay his gardener less when he found out that the gardener owned an mp3 player.
I feel like Dean gets way too much criticism for his mistakes. For instance, when he vented to Lorelai about Jess, it wasn't the wisest thing to do. Dean should have broken up with Rory instead of staying in a relationship with her when he was insecure.
This is the episode we all realized we wanted a Logan bc he respected her while pushing her past her comfort. Except…most of us aren’t elite 😂 sometimes I wish Rory was actually poor and she still got Logan bc it would give the rest of us hope.
There's probably 3 big episodes that make Richard & Emily look really terrible, this is one of them. There's also a few that make them look really good. Most of the time they're somewhere in the middle. It's complicated. Lorelai is the same as always, immature. And while I generally like Luke, he came across as an idiot in this episode. Not gonna lie dude, you sucked the whole fun out of this episode. Logan convincing Rory to come out of her shell and do something thrilling (that she ends up loving) is one of my favorite moments of the series. He's not pressuring her, he's giving her a little push to do something he knows she'll enjoy. But ultimately, it is her choice (he literally even says "it's your choice, Ace"). As someone who used to be timid and sheltered myself, had I not had people pushing me to do things outside of my comfort zone, I would've missed the majority of the best moments of my life. "People can live a hundred years without really living for a minute. You climb up here with me, it's one less minute you haven't lived". I must say, I'm glad I was young in the 00s and 10s and not these days when convincing people to have some fun is automatically seen as pressuring them.
