    Carbs are what I tolerate best on a run. If I went low carb I’d probably die lol

    I personally think low carb does work but to a certain degree if you start losing a lot of body fit becomes much harder to perform like walks jog or even lift weights. When I was like 200 pounds I fast for 3 days without a problem I was able to walk 20 to 60000 steps without an issue now I can't even barely do 5 miles. I'm not against a diet but I'm not willing to lie to people that at some point it does becomes less effective for weight loss.

    Sorry yall but, if you’ve ever been on a no or low carb diet, then you know how unenergized you can be. So it’s hard to work out and exercise on a no carb diet. Carbohydrates are what your body uses for energy.

      That’s what your body uses for energy if you eat carbs. If you don’t eat carbs, and you become fat adapted, then it easily uses fat for fuel, and you’ve got a lot more fat energy than glucose energy, so there’s no bonking. But you have to be fat adapted, otherwise, you will feel it.

    Do you think the issue is a problem consuming/tolerating carbs or do you think it's the fact that your body goes into parasympathetic fight/flight mode while running 50 miles+ and will reject most foods regardless of their nutritional content.
    Carbs are the better fuel.

      carbs are not even essential, once you are fully fat adapted, ketone is the best fuel.

    • @LR6092
      @LR6092 Рік тому

      @vredeel3099 no it is not. Fats are a horrible fuel source that's why your body will use any available carbs before resorting to fats. Fats are also 2x more calories per gram then carbs are so gram for gram if your fueling with fats you are going to be fat. Keto works short term sure, not long term, and no top athletes run on keto for a reason.

      @@LR6092 you’ve never tried running on ketones, you should try it sometimes before judging the result. you’re still counting calories? and consuming fats don’t make you fat🤣🤣🤣, what makes you fat is carbohydrates because you raise your insulin so high.

    Same. Our body uses carbs and fats interchangeably or at the same time. I take two gels per hour or once every 30 minutes. 40-50 carbs. It works well for me. No issues. Once I go beyond 50, I get queasy.

    One of benefits of low carb is that fat is a more stable form of fuel and the supply is a much more plentiful. Your body is going to use up the sugar first because it needs to get rid of it, but if you keep your sugar low enough, your body will naturally shift to using fat.

      Temporarily, for fat loss. In the long run, especially for endurance or long distance runners, it isn't beneficial.
