I like the fact that you use al kind of tools, some of the the knapper says will not work. I learn by watching and and I learned to most watching you. Just a thought
If your dacite wants to flake flat/straight, then it will stop at the centre of a lens cross section blade.
Perhaps the platform needs to be lower below the centre line?
