The great thing about UA-cam TV is that the primary subscriber can share the account with up to 5 people without an additional cost. But if the people you add on your account live outside of your Home Area like in another state for example they’ll eventually lose their access. One of my family members just ran into this after I invited them to my account 4 months ago.
One way to fix this is to have that family member or friend travel here where I live and access UA-cam TV on their account in my Home Area from their phone or computer. That’s obviously not ideal because of the distance. But I was able to easily fix this without them having to fly across the country. What I did was I got the email and password from the person I shared my account with and used it to log into their UA-cam TV account from my computer at home.
I could’ve also logged in from my phone or TV. But I think that’s all I really had to do. And just to be sure their account got reactivated I also clicked on a show and watched it for about 30 seconds and then logged off. After that, the shared account that was locked out is now working again.
The location requirements of UA-cam TV specify that users with shared accounts need to check into the Home Area every once in a while and in my experience that’s about every 4 months. So now you know how to fix shared accounts that have lost access outside of your Home Area. So helpful for sharing with kids who are going to college in a different state. Thank you!
Are they able to view local programs from the state where they now go to college? I know most college students don't watch 'local' TV, but one of mine is required to do so for a specific class!! Thanks.
I followed your advice, and logged into my family members google account from my location.
It worked brilliantly
Good to hear that, did you have to login to the member's Gmail account ,Google account in browser or youtube TV app?
Excellent! I’m glad it worked! I just signed into 2 accounts I’m sharing my UA-cam TV with so my shared users out of state will continue to have access to UA-cam TV. The for watching!
UA-cam. How about you don’t offer family sharing if I can’t share it with my family. Thanks for nothing.
To avoid fraud maybe.
Thank you so much for posting this video! My son was locked out of the account and he didn't know what to do. He's in college and this was a lifesaver!
Oh my this is super helpful!
I am the main account holder in Texas and would like to share it with my family back in CA. With this method, will they be unable to watch CA local channels and only see TX? Or vice versa?
You’ve probably figured this out by now, but they’ll see their local CA channels. The accounts will have your TX zip, but the local channels shown are based on where it’s being viewed (if you went to FL and logged in with your acct which is usually used in TX, you won’t get your TX channels…you’d see local FL channels)
saved me and my lil brother precious time while he was trying to catch Game 6 of the NBA Finals tonight. thanks!
Excellent! Glad you guys got the UA-cam TV sharing working again to catch the NBA Finals!
My lil bro tryna watch the playoffs 😂😂
Hopefully I explain this so it makes sense lol
I live with the primary account holder. She leaves (snowbirds) for 4 months from the beginning of June to the end of September and goes to another state using UA-cam TV there with her TV. This is the first time we've had to test this out since she signed up for UA-cam TV early this year, by the way. We are both logged into her primary account at the same time and have watched UA-cam TV simultaneously. But before she came home, she mentioned that after about 3 months it was logging her out quite frequently even though I'm still here at her home and (I suppose automatically) logging into her account every time I watch UA-cam TV. Why would she be getting logged out of her account while in another state when I'm still actively using UA-cam TV on my TV and still logged into the her account at home?
Hmmmm! Being logged out automatically is not something I’d expect to happen. An since you’re in the home area watching, you’re effectively checking into the home area every time you watch. Also if the location restriction kicked in the person affected would know exactly why they aren’t able to watch UA-cam TV. There would be a message on screen. Do you know how many people the primary account holder has shared their account with? Only 3 simultaneous streams are allowed on the account. I’ve not personally run into that before. Let’s say 2 TVs and a phone are watching UA-cam TV at the same time. The max number of streams has been reached. The 4th device will not be able to get access until one of the prior devices stops playing content. Hope that makes sense. I’m not sure that’s what’s happening with the primary account holder. Hopefully you get it sorted out!
UA-camTV should allow the different locations with friends/family and then they'll get even more subscribers!
Thank you Sir for your help.
Some channels are restricted with family sharing as well. For example, you won’t get local sports like NBC Sports California if you are using family share. You are still able to watch Nationally televised games.
Neither household gets to watch local sports or just the people you share with? I am hoping to share with someone in the same area I live in.
So if you live in New Jersey and rent a house in Vermont for a month in the Fall, you can sign in using the primary account using the “temporary” selection, but if the Giants football game is on Fox New York channel I won’t be able to see that game live when I’m up at the lake in Vermont?
THANK YOU!! (and both my kids thank you, as well!)
Thank you for posting! This fixed my issue today!
Excellent! I’m glad you bypassed the location restriction. Keep in mind that you’ll run into this again in a few months. Thanks for watching!
Just use a free VPN and don't have to worry about the other person loginng in as you.
Great video. Thank you. When creating the dummy email accounts can they be created from the home area or should they be created at the home you're sharing with for ip detection purposes. I invited my mom to be a part of the plan and when she tried to log in she either got the location out of area message or it kept directing her to create a new account/try free trial. Also, when logging in they're using their gmail credentials, not yours correct? Final question :). Does the reverse work? If I go to the shared home and login into my account from there and verify with my phone, will the shared home have and home base both have access for a while? I will visit my parents more than they will come to me (age). Thanks!
So a main account home user using a Roku in their house can share with a friend a couple blocks away (same town and zip code)who use 2 Roku's (father and daughter)in their house also? So the main account home user , will need to sign in with the father's account , and daughter's google account (and watch youtube TV )for a few minutes on from the main account users home every few months? ( either on the main account user's computer, or streaming device)?
I am about to open a youtube account at my primary residence but I have a lake house in the same area. Can I watch my youtube programing when I am at the lake house even if my wife is at the primary residence and watching youtube?
Yes! UA-cam TV allows 3 simultaneous streams at the same time. You can watch at the lake house while your wife watches at home. You’ll still have one more device/person that can watch UA-cam TV at the same time. Hope that makes sense. And if your lake house is in the same area you probably won’t have any issues with location restrictions.
So, I am now in San Francisco. Does it work if I register a UA-cam TV and split it with 6 of my friends who are living in the Bay Area as well?
You’re in a great situation if all your friends are living in the same area sharing your account! They won’t have to worry about the region limitations. Hope this helps!
how big is the home area? my parents live in the same city, would I still need to do this every 3-4 months?
I’m not sure how big the home area is but if your parents live in the same city you wouldn’t have to keep resetting their account. Even if they lived in the immediate metro area and suburbs they wouldn’t have a problem. However if they lived in another state then you’d have to do the home check in. Hope this helps!
I am the primary account holder and I am the one out of home area for 5 months. By chance, do you know how that will work for members left in my home state. I just got notice that access will change on Sept 7th, 2022. Will they be cut off? I wish that UA-camTV would not do this....snowbirds need a bit more than 3-4 months. Thanks for any thoughts that you may have.
Yes! The location restrictions are definitely an issue in your situation where you’re away from your home are for more than 3 months! I’m not sure if your shared accounts will lose access when you lose access. That’s something I’ve not thought about or able to test. If everyone is cut off the only thing you can do is have someone still in your home area to sign into your account. But that means sharing your username and password to UA-cam TV. Something to think about. However I’d wait until September 7 and see what happens to your shared accounts access. And if you remember can you share your findings? Now I’m curious! Thanks for watching!
Do you have to do this still if let’s say my brother who’s the primary holder shares with me and one of his friends but we all live in the Chicago land area just a couple towns over with different zip codes?
This is quite helpful! I may be looking into getting UA-cam TV and sharing with my father who lives across the country.
Sounds like a good plan! I’m routinely logging into one of my guest accounts from home whenever they lose access. So far it’s working out great for us!
@@TheRenderQ Is this still working for you, logging in every couple of months? Trying to help save my mom on her cable but live states away. Thanks!
Hi there, used your workaround for non local family members to date. As of today, it is no longer working. Are you aware of any changes to the restrictions? Thanks!
Hmmm! One other viewer recently said the same thing about UA-cam TV sharing. Ran into the same problem you’re experiencing. I wonder if logging into the guest account at your house and leaving it logged in for a bit longer time and watching a show longer would work? But it is possible they closed this loophole. I’m not sure. The person I’m sharing with is in another state and it’s still working for them. And that was just last month I checked with them.
@@TheRenderQ Thank you... As an update: tried on laptop, phone and tv and did not work. Final thought was to use a different browser. So switched from Chrome to Edge. Voila! Though I don't understand why. And, perhaps, it was just coincidence...
We did everything you said but I cannot watch from my iPhone. Should I wait a while after my admin in home state logs in as me. I get an notification to verify that it is me logging in from another computer. I verify with the number that shows on his computer and he logs in as me, watches the video and then I try and get same out of network error. So should I sign out on my end too before he logs in as me on his end??
Hi How did you set up the multiple zip codes to start with? I can't figure out to have simultaneous viewing of local channel on the same family account in two different states...thank you
THIS!
You cant your allowed to change to zipcode only 2xs for traveling and its a pain. Not worth the bother.
I was wandering this information.. thanks 👍
From 🇮🇳
been doing this effectively. Now, not working since Frontier network installed. Is Frontier messing with YTTV?
Great video, thank you. Can anyone answer if when using this method, does the out-of-state viewer get the broadcast (say ABC news for example) from the area of the account holder? or their own state’s broadcast?
If the shared account is watching from out of your home area they will see their local news stations. I asked one of the people I share my account in another state. They see their local news… not mine. However he says when they record the news they see my local commercials! Advertising is probably one of the reasons for the regional restrictions. Hope this helps!
@@TheRenderQ this was very helpful thank you! i’m curious on how that works with CBS or FOX on NFL sundays if the home user and the shared user would get different games based on their region. have you guys tried that before?
This is a temp fix i ran into it worked when I set it up but then when they try to add app to a TV it recognized out of area again. Basically sharing work in same area or you are asked to change your location. Not worth the aggravation IMO
Hmmm. I’m hear from people saying they can’t make this work. But I’ve been able to successfully let my shared members outside my state watch UA-cam TV. I’ve been logging into their account from my home area every 3 months when they lose access and then they are able to watch again.
very helpful. Question, if all 5 family members are watching on their own device, someone will get a notification that the number of tv's allowed is exceeded (which is like only 3 devices at one time) and UA-cam will not show?
I haven’t run into that problem but yes I would assume that there would be a notification when someone tries to watch UA-cam TV on a 4th device. Someone will have to stop watching or wait.
@@TheRenderQ Thanks
I have a question about family sharing and I can’t seem to find a clear answer. If I share with a family member in Florida and I’m the primary in KS, can they stream up to 3 devices in their home and I can still stream to 3 devices in my home?
Thanks for your question! I originally thought that each shared account had the ability to stream to 3 devices simultaneously but after reading the UA-cam TV sharing policy it appears they you can only have a total of 3 streams across all accounts. So between your main account and any shared accounts you can only stream 3 total at the same time for anyone using your account. Hope this helps!
@@TheRenderQ that’s what I was thinking as well. It was written that each account has 3 streams but now it appears as 3 total. I appreciate the response it helped clear it up for me! Thank you!
Just seeing this now for a new UA-camTV account. What if the person who moved to another state wants to view THEIR local programs after they moved to another state? Obviously, I would still want to see the local programs where I still live. This is a scenario that is happening with our 2 college kids, each in a different state from me. THANKS!
Recorded shows will be contents from their home area. They cannot see it live but if they add the show to their library it will automatically record the contents from your home area and not on their current location.
My friend shared his UA-cam TV, but he put his location Los Angeles, but I live in North Carolina. What does he have to do in order for me to watch my shows from my location?
Your friend has to log into UA-cam TV using your username and password from the Los Angeles area and have him/her watch any show for a couple of minutes then log out. I just recently did that with the person I’m sharing my UA-cam TV with and this process still works. The only thing is that you have to share your Google username and password. It’s the only way I know to get around the location restrictions. Hope this helps!
So I'm trying to understand. So are you saying that if I share through the sharing feature, they use their email? So I have to sign into their email temporarily to make this work? I just shared my login info so she could use the service. I didn't use the share feature. Will she still lose access eventually? Or will she even be able to log in? I don't think she's tried it yet.
Yes! If you use the share feature they will use their own gmail address. That way they’ll have their own viewing history and DVR. If they are using your e-mail address you will share the DVR and history. They shouldn’t lose access if they’re using your address because you’re constantly using your account in your home area which means each time you watch you’re checking into your home area so the person you’re sharing with will continue to have access. Hope this makes sense.
@@TheRenderQ cool. If that's actually the case I'll just keep it like that. Thanks
I am confused. If I have my relative under family sharing, what exactly do I log in to for them to get access? Am I logging out of UA-cam TV and logging in under their google account? Do I have to remove them from family sharing first?
Thank you in advance.
If your relative lives out of the area and has lost access to UA-cam TV sharing then all you have to do is use a web browser and sign into UA-cam TV using their gmail address and password. You need to be in your home area. You do not need to sign out of your account if you use a different browser than what you watch UA-cam TV on. I think I has to be Google Chrome or Firefox. Use the browser you aren’t currently using. If you don’t watch UA-cam TV on your computer then it’s super easy to just log into their account then watch part of a show for a few seconds then log out. They should have access after that. Hope this helps!
@@TheRenderQ Thank you!!! I finally figured it out. It worked!!! Appreciate your help and quick response :)
@@rkdavis70 how long did it last for before u got reset again?
@@KaranSingh-kp3io About 4 months
I have two TVs where I use the program but I want to create a family group to share it with other family members who live in the same locality to share the bill account. How many TVs will the service be seen if I share it with three other people without affecting the devices from my home.
When you sign up for UA-cam TV you can install the app on as many devices as you like. And you can invite up to 5 people to share your account without additional charge. However you can only have 3 simultaneous streams playing at the same time on any device. So the number of people in your group is limited to only 3 that can watch at the same time. Hope this helps!
@@TheRenderQ would the 4K plan help with this?
But for family membership YT checks every 30 days with electronic check ins to make sure it’s in the same household so it’s a big pain to have to do this every month.
I think it’s actually about 3 months when UA-cam TV will ask family members outside the service area to check into the Home area. It is a hassle but it is their policy that shared users need to be in the same region or be locked out. As long as you have the login information of your guests it’s not difficult to do every few months. A bit more hassle if they have 2-factor authentication turned on. But only takes a couple of minutes.
Ours is not shared but I go buy internet for laptop and now property of others is interupted.
Two seperate companies,.
It not to overtake other properties,.
Does this work if you’re signed into UA-cam tv on a TV or AppleTV? Or just the web application?
You can be signed into UA-cam TV on any device. Computer, smart TV, mobile app and other steaming devices. Sharing works for everyone you invite into your group. They have the same access as the account owner. But they gave their own viewing history and DVR recordings. Hope this helps!
@@TheRenderQ perfect. I currently share with someone I live near, so no zip-code problems. But looking to share with my sister who is in a different state.
I live 3 hours from my account holder who family shared with me. They logged in on their home computer using my credentials and it did NOT give me my access again. Any other recommendations?
Hmmm! That should work! Did they log out of their account first? I always watch something from the DVR or live programming for about a minute before I log them out. You’re very close to the account owner’s home area. The person I share with is on the opposite coast and this has worked ever since I added them on my shared account. I actually recently did the location check in for them last month. Maybe have the account owner use a different web browser? Although I just use the same browser and computer that I watch on. But I always log out of my account before logging my guest in. Hope this helps!
Why do they care where my family lives???? TheRenderQ has it right. Thanks for nuttin UA-cam TV.
I think the location restrictions have to do with advertising. Even at home when I watch UA-cam TV it sometimes has to check and verify I’m in my home area before I can watch. But it never asks on my TV.
I live in a region my grandma lives in a neighboring region. Family sharing It’s logging her in as my region (Cincinnati) . How do I help her get the local channels?
If you setup a VPN on your network, anyone could access it. :)
If I watch UA-cam TV on my TV (through Apple TV) and my brother is the home area user, will it still work if he logs in with my account on his computer every 3 months? Or would I have to use my laptop to watch?
If your brother is in your home area and using your username and password there’s no need to have to do the 3 month login. He will never get the notification that he’s out of the area. Your account can stream on up to 3 different devices simultaneously no matter how many devices are logged in with your account. However sharing your personal login means you and your brother share the DVR and viewing history. If you invited him to your family group then he’d have his own history and DVR. Hope this helps!
same region? as in, under the same wifi (home) or within the same county or city? tia
Hello,
Does this fix work when traveling internationally? Thanks!
I use looked it up. UA-cam TV is only available in the United States. You can’t access any programs when traveling internationally. So this workaround will not work if you are outside the US. Here’s the webpage with the info: support.google.com/youtubetv/answer/7193651?hl=en#zippy=%2Cinternational-travel
Can I ask someone else who is not the primary account holder, and does not live in the same zip code, but does live in the same city, to log into using my account and reset the 90-days?
Or does it have to be not only in the same city, but also same zip code as primary account holder for this to work?
Now that you ask I’m sure it will work if you ask anyone to log into your account from the primary account holder’s home area. For example, if you’re on your parent’s shared account and need the location reset, you can ask anyone that lives in your parents’ city/region to log into your account. That should reset the location requirement for another 90 days. Hope this helps!
@@TheRenderQ Update: it didn't work for me. I asked a friend, who lives close to the primary account holder zip code actually drove to that zip code. He used his laptop to connect to his hot-spot and used my login. The Home Area and Playback area have the same zip code, but in the Home Area, it still shows I needed to sign in to the Home Area.
I wonder if it's because he's on a hot-spot, or that the date to sign in by has expired. Either way, it doesn't work for me unfortunately :(
When your family members check in at your home location are they still able to see the local channels from their area?
The person I’m sharing my UA-cam TV with says he sees his local channels. He lives out of state and I have to check him into my Home area every 3 months. However he sees commercials from my area on his local channels. Hope this helps!
Thank you so much! Your video was very informative
I am a relatively new UA-cam TV member, and my son who lives in a efferent state, just encountered this issue. He provided his User Name and Password and that solved the issue; however, is he able to have a different location than the primary subscriber? Thank you
With the method I explained in the video your son can definitely live in another state and have access to your UA-cam TV account. Sounds like you were successful in reactivating his access when the location lockout happened. But you will have to do the same thing every 3-4 months. It’s not difficult to do. I share my account with someone out of state. I just log into their account in my home area and they’re good for another few months! Hope this helps!
@@TheRenderQ I have had the same issue with my family member also where he was locked out. I have logged onto his account from the main house hold and let it run all day and still unable to get his side to unlock. any advice?
Going to try this now, thank you!
Great video helped me a lot ... Is it still every 4 months that share accounts check-in in home area zip code?
Since this video is 2 years old I'm asking ...is that 4 month thing still the same duration?
It just happened to my son so, I'd suggest that if your family member is locked out just log in from your home computer. It fixed the issue instantly.
My daughter is on my account and lives in another state and just got that notice to log into account in home area. I tried to log into UA-cam tv on her account and it said it was sending a link to (my) phone not hers. It said to click on link and put in a code they gave. I never got the text. What is the word around?
Does this trick also work with UA-cam Premium?
I tried this after moving to Utah where my sister (the account holder) lives in Cali. Didn't work. I think it's because it tracked my phone that is an Android and has a Gmail account associated. I tried turning my GPS off, still didn't work. Tried using a VPN, and UA-camtv gave an error message of "looks like you have a b
Vpn on." Smh any recommendations?
Did you check your Google account to see if you have your new Utah zip code entered as your home area? Hopefully you get the location restriction figured out!
@@TheRenderQ my brother in law is the account holder (in the Los Angeles area) and I am in Utah. So I cannot change the "home" location without screwing their account up
Will they get their local channels in their state or share mine since I’m the account holder?
Unfortunately when you share UA-cam TV with someone who is watching in another state they will get your local channels… not theirs. But all the cable channels are the same.
Wouldn't it be easier to create 5 dummy email accounts and just share that with them so you could log in without needing any personal info?
Yes! That would be a great idea for the account owner to create “dummy” accounts for sharing. That way the owner has control of the shared accounts for location reset without the shared users having to give out their own Gmail password. Thanks for watching!
Hiwbdo I add to bedroom?
Does each person on my shared account have access to their own library and recording of shows?
Yes! Each shared account has their own DVR recordings and viewing history. Everyone’s account is separate when you invite members to your account. They even have their own login separate from yours. Hope this helps!
Great video, I have a question. If we sign up the 4K service on UA-cam tv, does this meant we are allow to stream unlimited? Or still limited with 3 devices only? Or with 4K service we can get up to 6 since there are max of 6 profiles? Thank you
Don’t waste your money on the 4K
Will any of these work for YT Premium? Problem is, my family and I are in completely separate countries...
I don’t know anything about UA-cam Premium since I don’t subscribe to that. This tutorial only explains what to do about the region issue on UA-cam TV.
Awesome video! Thanks man!
Hey i know you get this alot but dose this still work!! I plan on getting it soon
Do you know if this works if two people want to watch on their TVs rather than just tablets, laptops, cells etc.?
Yes! You can actually stream on up to 3 different devices at the same time with each account. Doesn’t matter if it’s on a phone, computer, tv or other device. Hope this helps!
@@TheRenderQ thanks for your help thank you so much for the reply!
@@TheRenderQ It's my understanding that it's only 3 streams in total, not 3 streams per each account. So if 5 people share the account, only 3 of those 5 people could be watching at the same time.
Thank you
If I use his account and password in my state , won't the home area change ? Or will it still remain same as before ?
The home area is set by a zip code entered in the account settings. I just looked at my UA-cam TV app and can see what zip code is associated with my account. So if you use someone else’s account in another state it won’t change their home area. Just like if I were take a trip to another state, I can still watch UA-cam TV but my home area isn’t changed. Hope this helps!
@@TheRenderQ awesome! wil try it out and let you know!
Does this hack still work? Tried it and my family members out of state still having issues.
Where do I log into utube tv to input my son's (outside my home area) email and password so he still has access to utube tv?
Sorry for the slow response! On a computer you can go to tv.youtube.com from your home area and sign into your son’s account. You’ll have to use either Firefox or Google Chrome browser. I just did this today for 2 people I’m sharing my UA-cam TV account with. Hope this helps!
@@TheRenderQ Thanks for the help. I think I did it correctly.
great video! thank you!
What about using a V P N?
I have tried everything. I had my son sign in on his laptop at his house, I deleted my VPN on my laptop, I signed out of all my devices, I even tried the incognito chrome. Nothing works. My channels are still blocked. Any other advice???
Let me see if I have this correct. Your son is the owner of the UA-cam TV account? And you’re the guest? Did it work before? Maybe he can remove you as a guest and then re-invite you again. I’m not sure if Google figured out that people were doing this. Some viewers have mentioned this possibility. But I can’t confirm it. All I know is that for me and the person I’m sharing with it still works. Hopefully you guys get it working again!
That didn't work because youtube tv gets your location on your phone, router or computer.
That really pisses me off. Their profits are sky high yet the pull this kind of bs.
I have to do this for one of my family members about every 3 months. It works for us. He lives in another state. I just use his account and sign in where I live then sign out. After doing this his account works again. The shared account just has to “check in” in the home area of the main account owner. Not sure why it’s not working for you. Is your home internet masking your location as with a VPN? I would think probably not since you’re not having issues with your own account. I own my UA-cam TV account and had a Windows computer I used all the time to watch. A few times the location error showed up for me and it’s my account being used in my home area. I think something changed on my location services settings on my computer. I can’t remember what I did but I got my account working again on this computer. Check the control panel on your computer to see if it’s detecting your location. Hope this helps!
@@TheRenderQ hey there, what if I give them my account so basically they have access to the main account holder will that reset the whole thing?
Since this video is 2 years old, I wonder if this workaround still effective?
I know this is a very late response but this workaround still works. I have 2 friends from out of state that I share my UA-cam TV account with. And just today I logged into both accounts from my home area to check in at the home area. Now they’ve got 3 more months until I have to do this again.
Doesn’t work for me. Keeps saying I am not in home network
Hello TheRenderQ. Thank you so much for posting this. I am about to get an UA-camTV account and I want to share it with a person in a different state. I noticed this video is from May 2020. Just checking, is this sharing method still working for you? Thanks in advance!
Yes! This method to get circumvent the location restriction still works! I’m now sharing with 2 people in 2 different states. I’ll actually be able to test this out again in a couple of weeks when one of my family member’s account will need to be signed in here in my home area again. Also there’s a link in my video description where you should be able to sign up and get $10 off the first month. It’s directly through Google. Hopefully that promotion is still going on. Thanks for watching!
As of August 19th this is not working for me on my android. I went back and logged in from the Home Area 5 days ago and it worked, but once I got back out of the Home Area my android no longer let's me connect and says I can't watch until I return. I'm 2 hours from the home area. Anyone else experiencing this?
Does this still work? I signed up using my gmail account and shared the plan with another gmail user. I can’t seem to get it to work. I am logged in on my tv and have logged into the shared account on my computer. It still does not work
Yes this still works! I just refreshed one of my out of state shared accounts 3 days ago. They haven’t had a problem accessing UA-cam TV. Has your shared account worked in the past? Or are you just getting started with it now? I just logged into the shared account on my computer at home, watched a few minutes of programming and logged out. In 3 months I’ll have to do it again.
@@TheRenderQ Help! My husband and I have one YTTV account in my name using my email. He is at the home location. I have not been home in months. I suddenly can't access YTTV (it says I have to sign in at my home location). So my husband used my email and password to sign is as me. I received a notice from gmail asking if it was me. I said yes. I still can't access the account.
If a loan my login to a friend and now I want to take it away. Is there anyway to do it without changing the password? Thanks
Are you talking about sharing your UA-cam TV account to a friend? It’s easy! In settings you can share your account with up to 5 other people. They will have to have their own Gmail account for you to invite them to your account. Once they accept, they’ll log in with their own Gmail address and password. Since you’re the main account owner you can grant or deny access to any of your guests at any time. You have full control of their access and there’s no need to change passwords because they’re using their own. Hope this makes sense!
Your friend stopped giving you 🐈 and now you wanna take her UA-cam away LOL
How do you fix limited playback access error. I get this when more than three people try playing a recorded show
I just got some info from the UA-cam TV help page. It says you can only stream on a maximum of 3 devices at the same time on each account. That’s why you’re seeing the limited playback error. Here’s the page I got the info from: support.google.com/youtubetv/answer/7286228?hl=en
SO WHY GIVE US 6 UA-cam TV LICENCE.
@@271830066 Yeah, makes no sense. I'd prefer even 4-5 accounts and be able to stream at the same time. Than 6 accounts and only 3 stream.
Hello we tried this and apparently it doesnt work anymore? Maybe they found out about this hack.
I’m pretty sure it still works! I just did it recently with the person I share my account with. Did you watch a bit of content while logged into the shared account? You need to be in your home area for this to work. UA-cam TV just needs a quick location verification from where you live to reactive their account. Hopefully you get it working!
This worked for me about 4 or 5 months ago, but now it doesn’t. Bummer.
When the owner of the UA-cam TV account gets your guest account working, it will remain active for a few months and then it will ask you to check in again from the main account owner’s home area. I’ve had to do this workaround every few months to keep my friend’s guest account working. When he tells me his isn’t working I immediately sign into his account from my city and then he’s back on.
I just read the rules.
Rule 1 the family member must be 13 or older
Rule 2 the family member must live in the same household
Rule 3 the family member must live in the same country
Now I don’t know how big your house is but rule 3 seems a little unnecessary after seeing rule 2.
I suspect that the intent is to allow sharing with a family member who is temporarily away from the household. Think college kid.
When you say home area, do you mean the actual home or maybe the actual city?
Thanks man.
Nice tip, thanks!
I feel like they closed this loophole recently? I've always done this with my brothers account that I'm on. But we tried it this past weekend for football and it didn't work. We didn't do anything different and I've been on his account for over a year.
Hmmmm! It’s possible they caught on to what people were doing while sharing their UA-cam TV account. I haven’t been able to confirm it myself. The person I’ve been sharing UA-cam TV with hasn’t asked me to do the location check in awhile so maybe they’re not using it anymore or they got their own account. I’m gonna have to test it with them. Thanks for bringing this up!
@@TheRenderQ Ok so I made my comment to soon. My brother tried on his laptop and it worked. The attempt that failed he tried logging in using the iPhone app. All the other times he had to sign in for me was on the Android app. So I'm not sure if that has to do anything with it? But it's working now and the loophole still works.
Ok I just checked and my friend in another state (who lives quite far away) is still using my UA-cam TV account with no problem.
I just had it not work for me so that’s interesting
Not working for me either, but I’m guessing my mother used her iPad app. I’ll see if using her computer makes a difference.
ran into same problem, i am trying it out. thanks
did it work?
@@amdeus too bad it did not. It works for a brief moment. But few hours later my dad(who don't live with me) is seeing ads again. This is at Aug 2020
@@yushaos with ads you mean the location pop-up and then being blocked?
@Yu Shao what do you mean by "ads?" UA-cam TV is full of ads. Just like cable. But is your Dad able to access content?
Can you not just re send and invitation?
I have not tried that before so not sure if it works. But you could try and remove them from your friend/family list then send the invitation again. If it does work I’m not sure how it would affect their DVR and saved settings. They might have to set things up every time and lose all their recordings. Basically they’d be starting over again.
UA-cam TV is telling me I’m off-line when I’m not and I just signed up I’m pissed
Worked for us. Thank you!
could i also try a vpn that is located in the same zip code as the account owner
So I just signed up for a VPN. I’m jumping through so many hoops trying to fix this darn issue and get local channels and not have my services ended because I don’t sign in the managers area in the next 8 weeks. This major VPN app only has very general areas. So not sure if there’s other VPN providers that give very specific areas or what. I mean in the whole US they only have the major cities. I used a tool on my laptop to spoof my location and used a VPN yet still UA-camTV is saying I need to sign in my home location by Jan or lose services. Hopefully you see this and have helpful hints.
@@streetvan1997 can
Did you have any luck? What VPN? I don’t know much about them but would the free windows one work?
@@CrashCarson14 It would have to be VPN run on your own network, not from another VPN provider. UA-cam has lots of videos on how to do this.
can i use a vpn to use zip code of account owner instead of signing into their account
I don’t know that much about VPNs but Google just has to have the guest account check into the Home location to continue working. If the guest can mimic the Home location somehow then they really could reset the location themselves. Sorry this probably isn’t that helpful but thanks for watching!
So there is nothing in the Fine print that everyone needs to live in your specific house?
Is this like Hulu live where only one person can use on TV or Ps4 and the rest of the people sharing have to use Phones or tablets ?
I don’t have any experience with Hulu but with UA-cam TV you can stream on 3 devices simultaneously on one account. It doesn’t matter what kind of device it is. UA-cam TV gives you 6 accounts to share for free so if you need more than 3 devices streaming at the same time create another Gmail and add that to your list of shared accounts. Log in with the new Gmail and you’ll be able to have up to 6 devices streaming at the same time. Repeat if you need more. Hope this helps!
@@TheRenderQ I'm not following this. Can you rephrase this? I'm trying to understand.
You mentioned “logged off”. How important is that step?
You know what? I didn’t even think about ‘not’ logging out of the shared account. It seems like that would work but last month I travelled to another state. All my own accounts are logged in at my house. The first time I accessed UA-cam TV while on vacation a notification popped up asking if I’m on vacation or moved to another location. It gave me an option to tell them I was away temporarily or tell them I moved. I choose the temporary button. After I did that it gave me 3 months to log back into my Home area. So keeping a shared account logged in at your house could work but you’d have to watch something on that shared account occasionally. Hope this makes sense.
@@TheRenderQ So, the "sign off" part worked. Thank you!
You may not know the answer to this, but if I upgrade to unlimited screens, how many screens will the person I share with have to stream, since it says unlimited is only on my wifi?
My son lives in the same state can I just give him my Google username and password? Will that work better than having to login with his Google info once every couple of months? Thanks!
It’s possible that if you live in the same state that you may not have to do the location workaround with him. It’s about 3 months when UA-cam TV tries to verify the location. It is easier to share your own email and password with your son but then you will share the DVR and viewing history. Not a problem with that. But you could try to do the proper sharing method first and then if it doesn’t work out you can then give him your username and password. Hope this helps!
@@TheRenderQ Thank you! Your response was very helpful!
@@TheRenderQ So I invited my son to the family group but now when he is on it I have his local stations on my tv? Why does that happen?
Since this video is 3 years old, does anyone know if UA-cam NOW requires additional verification such as texting the locked out user a code that they will need to enter from a recognized device that has to be physically located at or near the "home area", or something of that nature? lol
so dial channel it to give you youtube as always has.
The fastest way to fix this is a free VPN. My dad lives in OR and I live in CA. VPN makes it where I can use UA-cam tv
How would that work for the TV?
I’ve try this but it doesn’t work
Sorry you’re having issues with your shared UA-cam TV account. I’ve done this many times with a friend in another state and it has always worked. Sign into the guest account while in your home area according to your zip code when you log into the shared account. Then watch about 30 seconds of a show. Check their DVR library and then log out of the guest account. Hope this helps!
@@TheRenderQ I have a question for you. Are you referring to the wi-fi guest account? Have the family manager sign into the guest account of their wi-fi in their home area using the family member’s UA-cam TV or Google sign in information? Is that what u r saying? So when the family member logs back will they be able to get their local channels? Appreciate any help thanks.
This didn’t work for me 🧐
I occasionally see comments that this didn’t work to enable UA-cam TV to work outside the home area. I can confirm that this works still because I just did it with a person I share with just 2 weeks ago. So in your situation the account owner signed into the shared account from the account owner’s home area? That’s all I do. Does the account owner have something blocking their location? That’s the only thing I can think of. Reactivating a shared account that is location locked is super easy as shown in my video. After logging into the shared account did you play about 30 seconds of content before logging out? Hope you get it working!
@@TheRenderQ thank you ! Went to my home home and retried everything it works.
This is what I do, but it stopped working.
None of this works. I tried . Those rat bastards are always a step ahead and of you. Nothing like Greed youtube.
Checking in with the shared account in my home area definitely works! See my other response to your question! Hope you get UA-cam TV working! Is this the first time it’s happened?
Thank you
