It's incredible to me how most who pick on the town of Celebration, are the ones who don't live here. I do live here, full time, and am here to set the record straight and debunk the false perceptions surrounding the town of Celebration. Living in Celebration isn't a fairytale, but it's pretty darn great!

We were lucky enough to visit Celebration for the first time many visits to Orlando, from the UK, earlier this month. (May 23). We actually went twice - a meal in both Columbia and Town Tavern - and I absolutely love the place. It would be a dream and definitely not creepy to live in Celebration.

Eugo: To make her more believable, most of the things she is saying are not true, Celebration did do at some point at time (during Disney's ownership) but does not do anymore. It was creepy. Then someone bought it and made it better.
We also watched the bloggers wildly inaccurate video not long after she posted it and made comments on her post about her claims ,needless to say she never replied.

This person criticizing Celebration is being ignorantly ridiculous. Adam the Woo who is a UA-cam content creator also lives in Celebration high appreciates the positive characteristics of Celebration but he by no means projects anything creepy about his town. If anything, he expresses how much he loves living there. I personally am a pastor and I’ve seen NOTHING creepy about Celebration, FL.

Loved Celebration from the minute I stepped into the town.
Reading a couple of the comments from people who’ve never been, is akin to hating broccoli as a kid without ever trying it.
I see your a MA native, I also hail from Boston originally, but been a Floridian for 30+ years, mostly So FL as I am currently. But I absolutely did enjoy every minute of living in 34747.
If you go to the Town Tavern, say hi to the owners Jack, Janet, and Susan, originally from MA. And make sure to get whole belly clams like a true New Englander.

I spent a little time in Celebration a few days ago while I was in Orlando. I was curious to see it in person after seeing so many videos about it. It was lovely. I didn't get to see a lot of it, but I parked by the basketball court and wandered around. I bought my dad's father's day card and mailed it from the post office. I had bacon eggs and toast at the diner. I live a couple hours away and plan on spending a weekend there sometime this summer to explore some more. I would love to live there, but can't even afford a condo and I have too many pets, but I'll definitely stop by any time I'm down that way. It wasn't much different than any of the several planned communities in my area (North Florida) just much more walking and biking friendly and more interesting architecture.
Ok, false. We were in the middle of a purchase of a home in the late 90s. After we were told about the, absolutely insane, community rules, we backed out. And I am glad we did. The last few times I visited there while on vacation, it has gone from a wholesome-feeling to a decrepit sea of adultery and violence. I am so glad we didn't purchase there. Yeah, there were amenities to living there...and several themed restaurants..... but a movie theater and a post office, could not retain business in the vacation capital........ that says a lot. Yes I understand that this stuff happens in every town in every state, but there is just something amiss here with this place. It's off putting. I have been there, many times, for coffee or a lunch and dismissing all of the tourists I noticed that there is a cult feeling there. If you are not a resident, you are looked down upon. They are so into their "perfect community" that they do not like 'outsiders'. I've been coming to Kissimmee for over 30 years, we own timeshare there and while we are only there 1-2 weeks a year, the many times I've gone to Celebration, it has always felt very Wicker Man. And, btw, your camera angle is really uncomfortable and feels aggressive. Maybe lower the camera to eye level. Just my .02
If she wants more reality, i suggest she move to my hometown of Baltimore City. Plenty of reality for her here.

It’s some of these young UA-camrs that are creepy and hiding things. They are themselves hiding behind the makeup and dialogue of a perfect life. It’s not unusual for towns to ban such stores at Walmart, Target and fast food stores. I lived in one (NJ) my mother-in-law lived in one (NY) and there were no franchises allowed. It was a quaint village, antique and art stores. She’s a common millennial who thinks she knows everything. Glad she thinks it’s creepy. It mean she won’t move there. Keeps it a nice town without her kind. She’s just too young to understand.
We stayed at the Grand Floridian in January but spent two nights eating dinner and one morning eating breakfast in Celebration. We love it and would love to move there one day.

Seems like for mature adults, Celebration is a happy place. It’s not exciting for young people. They would need to travel to go to clubs or movies.

I stumbled into Celebration looking for a place to fish while visiting the amusement parks. My first impression of the town was that something felt off. Everything felt to perfect and not in a typically suburbia type of way. Almost eerie. HOWEVER, the people I came across that morning were very nice. Often greeting me with a good morning and a smile before I could offer a greeting of my own.
I love Celebration. I do not live but my bank is there and I deliver instacart, sometimes Amazon Flex there. I especially love the one house on Celebration Ave that decirates for all the holidays & yes with sone Disney decorations. I drive by that house & it always puts a smile on my face. There are many great local shops & restaurants. If you have never visited you should.

@@JENontheGO yes but it is not as good as it used to be. Instacart has really gone down hill. There is a crew there that are using botts & some have 2 phones. Most of the orders are for Disney resorts or Celebration from that Publix. I only do it part time now.
I know exactly who that crew is! Tempted to interview them. They are there every day, taking all the orders.

Love Celebration. Every time I'm at the parks I make a point to go to Celebration in the mornings to walk around and have my morning coffee. That young lady on that video is creepy herself...lol
Good video countering the nonsense out there making it look sinister. Compared to the urban crowding of Orlando or the endless strip malls of US192 (the road leading to DisneyWorld), Celebration is a pleasant break. Other videos cited incidents that occurred 25 years earlier and given the crime rate in Florida, it is relatively crime free. No Walmart? Most people living there are not Walmart shoppers in the first place. There may have been a mickeymouse rule in 1996 when Disney still owned the property, it no longer sets the HOA rules. At Celebration you can be in Disney in minutes, Universal within a half hour, or either coast of Florida Cape Kennedy or Tampa) within two hours.
I love that you are not afraid to stand up to "creators" who make things up or embellish just for views.
I've always wanted to visit celebration. Some of the homes I've seen are truly magical looking and I simply adore the ones that were designed on the inside with Disney in mind; secret passages, hidden Mickeys, etc.
I am am a bit Less interested in visiting now that it isn't run and kept up by Disney because IMO, which is meaningless to anyone but myself, but I feel like the "magic" is lost because Disney isn't in charge anymore. Also, it now looks (from what I can see in my very brief looks from videos online) that it isn't as well-kept as it was with Disney. Not that it looks bad in any way, I want to add that. It just doesn't look "Disney-ish" anymore if that makes sense.

I'm sad that the HOA fees can hit 1000 a month! That is insanity! I found a nice 2 bed 2 bath condo and was very happy to see I could afford something under 400k. UNTIL, I spotted the 600+ a month HOA fee! Are you kidding? There's no incentive to invest there. I can rent a very nice condo for 2600! Why bother with a mortgage and HOA. I'll invest the 400k elsewhere and let the landlord pay the insane HOA fee. LOL. I get that it is an 'elite' town and all. But at some point, you cross the line into pure insanity!

I love Celebration! My daughter and her family just moved here. These utubers need to stop their nonsense! I mean give me a break there are beautiful towns all over our country! I love the aesthetics of Celebration, people are pleasant here because of the beautiful surroundings and ease of getting around.

It was interesting to hear the perspective of a local. Thank you for sharing this video. Maybe critics are using the topic of Celebration to express their disdain of Disney and other current issues. I suppose that if a developer were to build an entire town centred around SpongeBob SquarePants, the opinions would be very different. The SpongeBob houses would probably sell like hotcakes to young people who can afford it. Without getting too much into politics, I do appreciate the fact that Disney put a lot of focus on building a visually pleasing neighborhood. I have not been to Celebration yet but would love to visit to appreciate the architecture.

I looked at a couple of homes in Golden Oak and really, really liked the proximity to the parks and guard-gated security, however the walkability to restaurant/shops/services was zero. Well, except for the Four Seasons. I am an old geezer and walking every day is my primary source of exercise. I liked the concentration of businesses in Celebration but was surprised/disappointed by the amount of deferred maintenance in the public areas. One hears a lot about Celebration’s zealous enforcement of communal codes so I was expecting a community in much better condition. So, next house hunting trip will be to Winter Park. Still, I enjoyed this video and your genuine personality is a treat!

I live in celebration and it has some pros and cons for me like every place. It’s really beautiful place but the cost of living has been increased like every place in fl. I used to live in windermere and it was way more “snob” in my opinion here the ppl is more open. The down size is the traffic in i-4 and the police is not that good as in windermere at least my experience. So don’t get fooled for the desperate housewives vibe

Yes, I visited Celebration in 1998, not long after it was built. Loved it. My small town in NC is getting a Disney development in a few years. Hope it is like Celebration.
I lived in that hotel for a week. Its quite a cool town. Walked around after dark and its like walking around disneyland after it closed

Thank you for pointing out the never ending list of inaccurate and ridiculous comments in that other video. It’s nothing more than click bait at best and at worst is an extremely biased and false picture of the wonderful town that is Celebration. If she wouldn’t want to live in a town that is well maintained, attractive and peaceful with lots of amenities, then that’s her choice but for the people who live there and the huge numbers of people who wished they did, Celebration is what more towns should be like.

The Internet gave voice to stupid people who comment on things they don't know. Opinions based on vague information they've got from other people who haven't visited a place, haven't used a service.
Nevertheless, they must remain free to propagate their thoughts. The viewers just need to be conscious that their opinions are as fake as their faces: mere cosmetics on top of facts.

The girl so critical of Celebration ... seems like a "elitist influencer" who didn't get enough likes to make Y/T (youtube) a paying gig. So what's she do, bad mouth, poor reviews, etc.
Celebration was Walt Disney's dream of the city of the future. The dream still lives in the hearts of many Floridians that love freedom and vision of a world that is better than what our fathers grew up in. It is a beautiful city and, as a native American that remembers its being built, I have watched its growth throughout the years and longed to be able to afford to live there in our very expensive economy. If that dream is taken away by outside influences would be tragic. I would be running from something, and that would be tyranny from the current p[olitics. Unfortunately, the price of everything in Florida prevents many from escaping it.
Walt was already dead (by more than 20 years) when this place was established; I highly doubt this was solely his idea for a “city of the future (that sounds more like his idea for an Epcot city that never came to pass). If anything, Celebration sounds more like his idea of an ideal, nostalgic suburban neighborhood, the kinda place he’d like to retire in, rather than a “city of tomorrow”.
Adam the Woo lives there. That's enough to make any area creepy, especially if you have small children.

Hi. I know you don't do instacart anymore but unless you already know I just thought you'd wanna know they lowered our pay. We no longer get $7 base pay anymore. We now get $5 but customers still pay the same service fee they always paid. So im officially done with them

I sort of understand what the young lady criticizing Celebration is saying. There seems to be a deadly conformity in the town which is unsettling. And the neatness is surreal. If I lived there, I'd throw a few bald tires on the front lawn just to give the place some character.

❤️❤️❤️I don’t have a vested interest in this debate, only an opinion. But listening to both ladies differing opinions, the younger lady voicing her concerns seemed disingenuous to me. If I wanted to live there, I certainly couldn’t, due to my economic background. But those who can I only applaud them for their successes in life! Here is my evaluation of this debate. Most young people on UTube would love to become free of work by promoting themselves to be paid by UTube per their views. So the young lady I think brought up half truths, all for attention. I’ve never personally liked Disney World after taking the kids there, a one an done for me. But hey, Millions per year love it and a community near by seems very well developed and would be a privilege to live there. As for the man killing his family? That can and does unfortunately happen anywhere. If I wanted and could afford living in Celebration I wouldn’t hesitate living there. Walt was a genius and had a family oriented mind to create this concept unfortunately the craziness of the world and this country, it’s been highjacked by liberalism to destroy everything of the family structure. From an outsider looking in Celebration is taking a hit job by gold digging Influencer’s from the U-Tuber’s wannabe’s.
I am 70 years old and retired Building Inspector after working 30 years in the building trades for Planning Development and Engineering Department in Birmingham, Alabama.
For me to get up everyday day and go to work was like a kid going to Disneyland! I loved my job! Yes loved my job! Most young people like this young lady hates the idea of getting a job that requires discipline and god forbid that actually are required to work!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸h

Celebration is a beautiful looking place but I don’t consider it a true town. To me you need ethnic and economic diversity. That’s what Disney originally wanted for this place. There is very little working class that more than likely live in apartments. I’ve never seen a person of color just walking around. Would be hard pressed to find that 1%.
