God it's strange seeing comments from 4 years ago talk about the "old days"
I know, crazy to think that I had watched so many of these videos when they were first coming out (back when I actually had a computer that was able to play games too). It's surreal

Yes, and given that TF2 takes place in I think the late 60s early 70s, Spy could very well have participated in the fighting (which took place in the early 50s)

When Star talked about a scorpion weapon, I sorta imagined a weird sort of long range spy knife that pulls people back for an easy backstab. Kinda like pudge's hook.

The new Soda Popper is my favorite weapon for Scout. If you made a new discomfort zone I could imagine you switching the Soda Popper for the BFB
The new Soda-Popper is not a very good weapon, but like a lot of scout weapons, it is something that you use because it is very fun, as opposed to being effective.
+The Land Owner ok, let me tell you this. What would you rather use, the Soda Popper or BFB? Yeah, that's what I thought. Also, if you said BFB you must be insane. The BFB got a horrible nerf (or great nerf. Wait, I'm confused) and now it's crap.

A: Being better than another weapon doesn't make something a good weapon.
B: The whole point of the BFB is to not get hit, so being punished for being hit makes sense, and isn't that big of a deal.
C: You can pair the BFB with any weapon that causes bleed damage to almost completely negate the downside.
The Land Owner It IS a good weapon, you just have to be good at it. You probably don't like it because you suck at using it. You just have to be smart.
IMemeALot I didn't say I dislike it, it is quite a fun weapon to use, it is just more focused around being fun than effective.
After the patches and updates, this is one now probably the most entertaining load out for Scout. Flying through the air with 6 jumps that go 25% higher.... Good times.
In my opinion the soda popper is SO MUCH fun to play especially in saxton mode!

BewareTheGoop Yeah. To tell you the truth, I never got the Soda Popper before they changed it up, so I never knew that it wasn't always the Hype for jumps thing until I saw this video.

in this video it builds up hype and unleashes mini-crits... basically the crit-a-cola gun which i can see why he hates it sucks. BUT now it lets u jump evrywhere if u saw the title it says old so it did mini-crits then now it's all about jump, same with the winger it didn't have the jump height back then

the scatter is fantastic and i love it.
In the new update the soda popper gives you tons of jumps not mini crits and winger increases your jump height

I like using the winger and atomizer together with the stock scattergun. I know star says you never need that kind of height, but with the winger and atomizer together you can make really high jumps you couldn't do with only the basic triple jumps to nearly rocket jump heights. For instance, on harvest you can get to the top of the house from spawn by triple jumping with the winger and you can do a bunch of other cool things with it. I used to hate the winger but the extra height it gives your jumps is pretty damn nice just on its own, however you do need to compensate for its lack of firepower, so I don't think you should pair it with anything other than the stock scattergun. It is however, totally retarded that you actually need the winger out to take advantage of the jump buff, I mean if it applied some kind of debuff in addition to its effects that would make sense but c'mon just give me the extra air without having to worry about having this otherwise crappy pistol equipped.

You actually did really well with this loadout, further giving credit to my personal TF2 philosophy: All weapons are good weapons, as long as you know how to use them.
Man I remember the days of running around with this loadout but with the mackerel on a 24/7 turbine pub and just destroying people, I then remember being devastated when the nerf was released, then I went to the baby faces blaster until it was finally nerfed and the pub died and closed.
To me, the soda popper "nerf"/"buff" is amazing. I use it for 2fort and turbine and i capture the flag extremely fast while using it. Getting the flag but the bridge entrance is sentry guarded? Go to the sniping point and jump to the other base. Nearly dead and being chased in turbine? jump on the crates, onto the ledge and into the vents!The bridge thing is good for it too! jump from bridge to the sniping point!
But the crits thing is OP. 3 shots for a heavy?

Well if we're going by base scattergun damage with no damage spread on it'll take 5 to kill a heavy but if you get right into the heavy's meat (meatshot) a scattergun shot can do a little more than 100 damage

They should buff the short circuit to temporarily disable enemy buildings for like 5-10 seconds or so.

The Mexican Standoff: A Revolver for Spy
+ Shots do minicrits
+ 20% faster weapon switch
- Marked for death when weapon is active
- 25% slower weapon firing rate.
Tracker: A Rocket Launcher for Soldier
+ Rockets arc at most 15 degrees to nearest enemy (within line of sight)
- 75% primary ammo
- Cannot Crit.
The Big Hit: A sword for Demoman (Knight)
When Weapon is Active:
+ 0.5% damage gained per second (capped at 50%)
+ 0.25% move speed gained per second(capped at 25%)
- Minus 5% damage per swing (capped at -100%)
- Minus 2.5% move speed per swing (capped at -50%)
- Weapon is honor-bound (cannot be sheathed until it has killed)
Weapon has a large melee range

Able to heal up to 3 people at once
25% Slower ubercharge rate
